mokepanThis hostel has a great location, but I had a truly disappointing experience. What happened was that groceries I had bought were thrown away. They usually store items in the fridge on the first floor before discarding them, but when I asked at the reception, the staff member acted annoyed, saying they didn't know anything, and didn't apologize at all for throwing away my food without permission. Additionally, there's no freezer, so if you're planning to stay here next time, it might be good to keep in mind that you can't store frozen food, your groceries might be thrown away without your permission, and you might not receive an apology.
Furthermore, the toilets at this hostel were clearly not cleaned and smelled terrible from the start. I also had an experience where the curtain on my own bed was opened without my permission, which was not a good experience. If you're paying the same amount to stay in the city, you might be more satisfied elsewhere. Of course, not everyone will have the same experience; there are friendly and polite reception staff members. However, my experience is also a fact.

Guest UserStayed here for 2 nights. Reception staff were friendly, helpful, and professional. The room was clean and tidy. The food at G floor was delicious and reasonably priced (had the lunch deal). Overall, it was a very pleasant stay.
The downsides are that,
1) the hotel is situated on top of a hill and getting there on foot with luggage wasn't great (budget traveller). I definitely would recommend uber-ing there despite its prime location to the city central, especially if you've got heavy or lots of luggage.
2) the walls are relatively thin and in the wee hours of the morning, I heard people running around the hallway and talking loudly which woke me up from my sleep (and I'm not a light sleeper). On another separate occasion, I also overheard a conversation from the next-door occupant, who was speaking loudly over the phone for over an hour. A little annoyed by the noise but otherwise everything else was a good experience!

Great find, we asked for a quiet room and had a great nights sleep. Is close to food, airport and was wonderfully clean. We will stay again.

Guest UserI booked on the day we arrived as I needed accommodation close to Northshore Eat Street. Saw reviews about access issues so I called before booking and was advised access info is sent at 2pm. We had no problems with online booking and receiving access code.
Room was good value for money with balcony, plenty of free parking and wifi.
Would definitely book again if I need accommodation close to airport.

Self service was a bit strange but if you call them 24hrs in advance, like suggested, it would be a smooth transaction. Room was neat & tidy & quite spacious! Lots of power points, lighting & secure window. Nice having a topped up Kitchenette, tv, aircon & remotes… with batteries! Decent bathroom for the unit size just grossed out by the shower curtain. Security guy was very helpful AND free onsite parking was a bonus!

Room was very large and beds were comfortable. It was cold when we arrived and the air con had been put on so it was marvellous walking into a warm room. Very happy overall.

Anonymous UserIt’s a minimalistic hotel, but in saying that it is what you pay for. It is great location very close to the city Valley and WooloonGabba. Very affordable discreet and very flexible with checking times. Front desk is not always manned but upon a phone call they are there in a jiffy. My first day wasn’t the greatest but I’ve had much better days since then and it depends on the rooms that you get but most of them are very very cozy. They have air-conditioning a bathroom and an ample space for two or a family of three with small child . also has a fridge and hot water. there’s a front and a back entrance and ample street parking as well as small amount of parking at the back you can come and go as you please without being harassed by front desk staff. It is ideal if you’re a night owl . on average I would give them 3 1/2 out of five stars however my most recent chips are probably 4 out of 5.

We booked a king room which said king size bed, and I requested 2 extra pillows. We never received a reply from the hotel about our request. We arrived at 8pm, were met by a foreign backpacker who gave us our key and we got a tiny queen size bed room, which was relatively clean but the room had cockroaches running around everywhere. We were not happy to book a room and pay for the bigger bed and get the wrong one. The only good thing about that hotel is it is quite close to the international airport.
