WWenmenglBrisbane Airport is located by the sea, and it's a 30-minute light rail ride from the city center. The city center itself is built along the Brisbane River. It's not a huge city but quite beautiful. The Stamford Hotel is situated at the tip of a peninsula, right next to the City Botanic Gardens, and about a 700-800 meter walk from the central train station. Most of the main attractions are along the river, making it very convenient for sightseeing. I'd say its location is probably the best. The hotel also maintains high standards, falling somewhere between a Hilton and a Conrad in terms of luxury.

GGuest UserThe location is fantastic! It's very close to the train station, bus station, and ferry terminal, and just a 3-minute walk to South Bank Park. Service: I really have to complain about the service. I booked for four nights, and on one of those days, the room wasn't cleaned, even after I specifically reminded the front desk. The cleaning generally was quite sloppy; tea-stained cups weren't replaced, with tea stains clearly visible, and the bathroom faucet was covered in water marks. We were quite surprised to find such service and hygiene standards in a hotel of this caliber. Breakfast is à la carte with limited portions, one Western-style breakfast per person, which isn't really suitable for Chinese palates. We asked the hotel if we could cancel breakfast for the last two days, and they replied that it wasn't an issue for the hotel, but since we booked online, we'd need to coordinate with the third-party booking site. Although Trip.com actively tried to mediate, the hotel still refused. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to Chinese travelers.

GGuest User⭐️⭐️⭐️ Overall stay at Brisbane Marriott We recently stayed at the Brisbane Marriott  for my daughters 21st and were genuinely impressed by how lovely the hotel is and how amazing the staff were. The warm, welcoming service started from the moment we arrived at valet parking and continued throughout our stay. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, accommodating, and did their best to assist us. The rooms themselves were nice and comfortable, although we did notice some wear and tear, particularly with the bathroom and bedroom cabinetry which was scratched and broken. The beds also felt quite small for two adults and made sleeping a little squishy. Our biggest concern, however, was the air-conditioning. When we first walked into the room it was set at 18 degrees, which we thought would be perfect—especially with four girls getting ready, expecting a cool room so our makeup wouldn’t melt. Unfortunately, it was the complete opposite. The room felt like a hot box from the start. The staff were fantastic and came to check and reset the system twice, but by the time we returned at 1am, it was still extremely hot. It was uncomfortable enough that one of our group decided to go home because she couldn’t sleep in the heat. At that hour, there was also no one at the front desk to seek further assistance from. We did mention this at checkout, as we genuinely expected that a well-known, reputable hotel like the Marriott would not have such an issue with air-conditioning. It was disappointing, as everything else—from the service to the overall atmosphere—was lovely. Massive shout out to the male staff member who collected our bags both at arrival and departure (sorry wasn’t able to recall you name) you are a great asset to the hotel!! With improvement to the room cooling, this would have been a fantastic stay. The staff truly are the highlight of the hotel.

KKakoeLove the hotel, location, cleanliness, comfort of the room, amenities, and friendly staff. HOWEVER, after 8 hours of flying, or driving, the staff greet you only to require you to check yourself in at the kiosk. I went through the whole complex process with an attendant assisting only for the kiosk to tell me I had to see an attendant to check in. WTH! How frustrating and not a great way to be greeted at a hotel. I know the hotel staff was frustrated with the process too and it's another total disconnect from corporate with the individual hotel. I felt it was a cold and impersonal process especially following a long trip when all you want to do is to finally get to a room and away from the public. They also required me to use the kiosk to check out the next morning. I refused , handed the key to the attendant, and walked out. When you pay a hundred or two hundred or more for a room the least they can do is to provide you some personal service for 5 or 10 minutes during your stay. I will stay elsewhere besides an Accor hotel in the future. What a huge failure on their end.

GGuest UserMy Worst Experience at a W Hotel to Date I have stayed at various W properties, but my recent one-night stay at W Brisbane was easily my most disappointing experience with the brand. For a hotel that prides itself on design and luxury, the functional execution of the room was severely lacking. There were several significant issues that made for a very uncomfortable night: Poor Room Design: The air conditioning is positioned in a way that it blew directly onto my face all night. It was impossible to deflect, and I had to sleep on the other end of the bed. Then I had another issue below. Disruptive Noise: The in-room refrigerator was close the the bed and making distracting noises throughout the night that made it difficult to sleep. Between the mechanical noise and the poorly placed AC, I barely got any rest. Maintenance & Cleanliness: after I woke up in the morning, I was shocked to find a visible hole in the bed sheets. This is not the level of quality control one expects from a five-star establishment. And the bath tub has visible torn and wears. Also the motel level toothbrush. Service: there was no staff at the door helped me and my 70 yo mom with our luggages. I hvae to acknowledge that we arrived quite late but I did expect quality service from a lux hotel. And also no free upgrade offered like my stays with other W. Honestly, I am just glad my stay was only for one night. I expected much better from the W brand and won't be rushing back to this particular location.

GGuest UserThe Meriton Hotel's location isn't convenient at all. Walking back from the CBD means going through a park and then up a hill, which isn't a pleasant stroll. Parking is a major drawback and a huge hassle. Street parking is only free after 7 PM, and during the day, it's an exorbitant AU$6.50 per hour. The hotel's own parking costs AU$25 per day, but the underground garage design is terrible – narrow ramps and numerous pillars make it very easy to scrape your car. It's especially unsuitable for Chinese new drivers who are visiting Australia for the first time and driving right-hand drive cars to navigate the basement. Even the spots closest to the elevator are often empty because they require backing in. If your car isn't fully insured, I strongly advise against parking here. Car repairs in Australia are incredibly expensive; even a minor scrape could cost more than your entire trip. This is definitely the biggest downside and the most unrecommended aspect of this hotel. If you're looking to explore Brisbane city and want convenient transport and parking, there's absolutely no need to choose this hotel. You'd be much better off picking a hotel in the suburbs not far from the city, which will offer far better value and convenience.

GGuest UserDue to slow drainage in the bathroom that wasn't fixed, the hotel moved us to an upstairs room. It was a huge improvement from the previous one; the room and bathroom were spacious and clean, both with large windows that opened, offering a great view.

GGuest UserAlthough I received my booking confirmation from a third party, somehow I missed important check-in information from the hotel which is keyless and has no onsite reception. Through the kindness of strangers, we were able to get into the foyer where there was a number to contact. It’s advertised as a 24hr reception but it’s important guests know it’s a remote reception. Once I got onto the receptionist, he was able to send me the important message with the check-in information. As we were heading out for dinner we were able to assist another couple who were experiencing the same problem. Overall, it was a good stopover. We had a good night’s rest in a comfy bed, however, there were no bedside lamps for reading and the one wall lamp near the bed didn’t work. The shower was hot and the location is excellent for access to a variety of great restaurants.
