My stay here was absolutely delightful. The property is spotless and peaceful—a true sanctuary for rest. I was deeply touched by the host’s hospitality; they are incredibly kind and made us feel so safe and welcome, just like being at home.
Beyond the beautiful room, the host provided excellent tips for navigating Sun Moon Lake. We were especially moved by their willingness to pick us up on our first night when we missed the last bus. From the delicious local restaurant suggestions to the kind gift of fruit, every detail was perfect. Thank you for such a memorable stay. I will definitely be back and will be recommending this gem to everyone I know.

🌲 Step into the legend of the Thao guardian spirit: Sun Moon Lake Owl Boutique Inn
* **Unbeatable Location:** Just a **1-minute walk** to Ita Thao Pier and Old Street. Craving wild boar sausage or Assam tea? It's right downstairs!
* **Connection to Thao Culture:** In Thao legends, the owl is considered a sacred bird and guardian spirit. The inn is adorned with various owl decorations, adding a playful yet tasteful touch throughout.
* **High Value Boutique Feel:** Although it's categorized as an inn, the interior design is minimalist and stylish. The wood-toned spaces offer a truly relaxing haven after a long journey.
Despite its location in the bustling old street area, the soundproofing is surprisingly good. The amenities provided are also very generous, giving you the impression of staying in a high-end hotel.
**3. Rooftop Common Area**
This is the inn's hidden gem! The rooftop features a lounge area with panoramic views of Sun Moon Lake's scenic beauty. Grab some delicious treats from the old street, bring them up, and enjoy them with a cool breeze and lake views – that's how you truly vacation.
### 💡 A Few Tips
* **Parking Information:** As the inn is located in the old street area, parking directly in front is not possible. It's recommended to call the front desk beforehand, and the staff will kindly guide you to their affiliated parking lot.
* **Breakfast Experience:** While the breakfast here is simple, the ingredients are fresh, and you can really feel the thoughtfulness of the owners.
### 📍 Inn Information
* **Address:** No. 82, Wenhua Street, Riyue Village, Yuchi Township, Nantou County
* **Nearby Attractions:** Ita Thao Pier, Sun Moon Lake Ropeway Station (approx. 10-15 minutes walk), Shueiwatou Trail.

Guest UserWife trouble to so far over Tenant live and the China and time one trap and teens of favorite hotel. The hotel has a mix of Japanese and Scandinavian influence and it was beautifully decorated. The dining hall looks like the inside of a ship. The beds elevated off the floor inside the room. The showers and toilet area are spacious, and the whole room is incredibly comfortable. The hotel is impeccably cleaned, and then the breakfast is phenomenal. This hotel is located on the quieter side of the Sun Moon Lake, which our family prefers. The other side is way too busy. Keep in mind, though most of the stores are closed by 8 PM so if you’re seeking a more lively nightlife side of the lake might not be the best. If you’re looking for a quieter vibe and area, this hotel is perfect.

What a memorable stay filled with warmth and kindness from the hostess! Had a long casual chat with her about the history of some attractions in Sun Moon Lake. Room and the entire environment are clean. Can see the thought that goes behind heir cute decor, which makes it feel cozy. Their complimentary local breakfast is the cherry on top. We devoured their rice porridge with side dishes alongside red tea with milk. On top of that, it’s just walking distance to Ita Thao Pier, where we can get lunch or dinner, or even drop by a coin laundromat. If you have any questions about how to get around, especially if you speak Mandarin, you can always ask the hostess for recommendations. They also offer cheaper boat tickets (150 NTD each) and vouchers for bike rental or attraction passes. Cannot recommend this lovely homesta enough!

We chose this villa primarily for its convenient location, with a bus stop right outside near the 7-Eleven.
From the moment we arrived, we fell in love with the place. The villa is beautifully decorated, and best of all, the rooms, restaurant, and café all face the mountains, offering a peaceful and scenic view.
The bed was very comfortable, thoughtfully equipped with one firm pillow and one soft pillow. A lovely bonus was the heated bed, which was especially comforting on cold days.
Breakfast was simple yet satisfying. We also booked dinner upon arrival and enjoyed a guest discount. The six-course fusion Chinese-Western dinner exceeded our expectations — each dish was well prepared and of excellent quality. A truly delightful stay.
Highly recommend for stay, high tea or dinner!

BwagzGreat location and good sized room. Didn’t get the lake view room but could still see the lake. If you arrive late in the day then driving to the hotel for check in is chaotic with people everywhere. The car park is 5 min walk so reccomend driving down to check in, dump suitcases and then drive up. Breakfast was great, lots of options buffet style and lake views.

Great! The room had a lovely woody scent. The owner was super enthusiastic, but not in an annoying way (which is a relief for introverts like me!). He was genuinely caring and attentive to the guests. The late-night snack was awesome, and breakfast was delicious too. And the cats at the entrance were absolutely adorable!

Guest UserAbout 5-7 minutes walk from the Sun moon lake drop off area, which was convenient. The room was a lot bigger than I expected, did not expect to have an additional bed as I was travelling solo. With another travelling companion it would be really worth the price. There was even an entire outside area! Staff were friendly, and also provided breakfast, which was nice. The location of the room is about another 2-3 minutes walk from the reception, and was quiet and relaxing even in the day. Only concern might be that the rooms might feel abit old (being a wooden cabin and all) and eerie at night, since there is not much lighting. Also WiFi is not very good in the room

The hotel offers good value for money. Many of the guests stay here with big bus groups. There is an interesting view from the top floor. Rooms are spacious and bathrooms functional. It is important to note that it is quite dated and has some classical decor. It is very well located near many businesses and restaurants. Also nearby is a very practical launderette where you can wash and dry in one cycle. 7 eleven is also nearby. In the hotel you can enjoy breakfast which has plenty of choices for anyone.
Protip: hotel has parking with sirect access to rooms. There are 4 elevators which get busy, look for a small hallway between elevators to find another much less used elevator for speed.

The hotel is considerably cheaper than others in the area with similar-looking rooms and it is brilliantly-located right at the lakefront and only 2 minutes away from the bus terminal.
The staff is very friendly and you even get a discount voucher for the nearby bike rental.
I booked a room without a window and got one with two windows which is absolutely appreciated. I even had a very large bathroom with a gorgeous and huge bathtub which was an unexpected luxury.
Overall the room is clean and comfortable. The AC works perfectly, the bed is comfortable enough for a few days, and the the linen and towels were fresh.
The interior is dated which didn't bother me me much because it was still as clean as dated interior can get and therefore definitely clean enough for me and for most travellers. I actually kinda liked the old charme.
The walls are thin, though it doesn't matter so much because there aren't many rooms per floor.
The breakfast was surprisingly nice and located in another hotel right at the lakefront so that you have stunning views!
