Communication with the owner was excellent throughout. He gave some helpful advice about the area. The guesthouse has a lovely rooftop you can admire the view from. View across the River is fantastic. In the morningl we saw locals doing their tai chi by the pagoda, and in the evening their dancing exercises. The shower was very good and needs soft and comfy. For the price it was a great location and facilities were good. There is no on site reception but entry codes are provided and the owner met us at check in, he is responsive and friendly. Zhenyuan is not too touristy yet, it is relaxed and friendly.

To put it simply, I chose this hotel based on recommendations from other travelers, and the actual experience lived up to expectations. The service was excellent, the rooms were well-equipped, and clean. Located on the north bank of the river, the main entrance is on Minsheng Street, and the back entrance leads directly to the riverside boardwalk. It's 200 meters from both the new bridge and Zhenjiang Pavilion, situated right in the middle of the city's main river, offering beautiful scenery. The family rooms have riverside balconies, perfect for enjoying tea, smoking, and admiring the view, and there's even a hanging chair.

The hotel room was the best of my entire Yunnan-Guizhou trip. It was very close to the bustling ancient street, making it convenient for dining. From the room, I could see the river and bridge, giving it a bit of a Fenghuang feel. The room was spacious, well-equipped, and clean. They even provided snacks and drinks. The owner called me in advance to send me his location and came to pick me up at the intersection. I'll definitely come back next time.

Sitting by the tea table on the balcony at night, enjoying the refreshing evening breeze from the river, sipping an ice-cold beer, and admiring the stunning night view is truly delightful. The landlady is capable and welcoming; she also owns a restaurant next door—delicious food, beautiful scenery, and they even thoughtfully provided complimentary side dishes… A truly memorable Zhenyuan, a truly satisfying guesthouse! 🙂
