"First of all, the host is very welcoming and will contact you proactively after you book. They are also willing to answer any local questions. Because the location is a bit tricky to find – you have to go through a small alley to the very back and then up to the 5th floor – the host will proactively contact you to help you find it. The cleanliness is so-so. There's a restaurant downstairs in the alley that emits a slight odor. There was also a strong musty smell when it rained. The bedding was visibly old and yellowed. There was also heavy limescale in the sink and bathroom. The location is excellent, in the center of Zhenyuan Ancient Town, near the Dachanggong (Big Factory) bus stop. However, private cars are mostly not allowed in Zhenyuan Ancient Town; you can only enter by local minibus (which is very small). So, those with a lot of luggage should consider this carefully. It's only a 5-minute walk to attractions like Zhusheng Bridge and Shiping Mountain, which is a plus. However, the building is quite old; the room I booked is in Building C, which doesn't have an elevator, and the hallways are narrow. Those with large luggage should choose this option with caution."

"I stumbled upon the Shanheshi B&B in Zhenyuan and my experience was absolutely fantastic. The whole place has a warm, natural wood, wabi-sabi aesthetic. The lobby feels cozy and relaxed, with greenery and little thoughtful details everywhere, creating a truly comfortable atmosphere. What impressed me most was how incredibly pet-friendly it is. The staff are so kind and patient, and my little one was able to run around freely without any restrictions, never feeling like a bother. The B&B also has an exclusive viewing deck on the top floor, complete with a guide for night-view photos. In the evening, you can just sit back and watch the ancient town light up, enjoy the evening breeze, and take in the panoramic view of the Wuyang River – it really cures all your travel fatigue. Both the housekeeper and staff are incredibly attentive, treating guests with warmth and sincerity, without any of that stiff, commercialized feel. It’s like visiting a friend's house. In this ancient town of mountains and rivers, finding such a warm and welcoming guesthouse when traveling with my furry friend was truly a stroke of luck. I highly recommend it to all pet owners, and I’ll definitely choose it again next time I'm in Zhenyuan."

I booked the hotel within 1-2 hours, and there is still a long distance from 18:00 on the same day. Be careful when booking a homestay. I booked a 1.2*2, and then I upgraded it to 1.2 when I arrived at the store. There is also a 1.8 or 1.5 bed. I hope everyone can refer to it. Just come according to your needs.
