Amazing
BBryce van de LaarThe Solymar beach resort is not the most expensive resort in the Hurghada/Safaga area, but itâs also not the cheapest. Because of this, we were expecting it to be quite middle-of-the-range in terms of quality. At every turn, we were pleasantly surprised and delighted.
The staff were friendly and courteous - whether at the reception, in the restaurant, or walking past someone watering the grass, you are guaranteed a friendly greeting. Everyone is quick to know their customers - after just a day in our usual spot on the beach, Ahmed knew our usual order. The hyper-energetic Magic Entertainment team members were also quick to build rapport and make us feel included in the resort vibes.
We plunged immediately into extreme relaxation with a âhoneymoon massageâ at the spa, which included time in the dry and steam saunas, a special hammam exfoliation ritual on a heated marble slab, a full-body Dead Sea mud wrap, and an oil massage. The masseuses were talkative and playful - possibly not to everyoneâs taste, but this seems to be the Egyptian way and certainly got me smiling and giggling along.
There is not a moment of the day when you might be at risk of going hungry. From the early breakfast in the main restaurant, to the late breakfast at the beach, to the drinks and snacks on offer throughout the day at the pool bar and restaurant, there is always a wide array of quality F&B choices. There is some variation from day -to-day options, and itâs always worth checking out the âfresh-from-the-grillâ area to see what the dayâs speciality may be. Part of the stay includes one complementary meal at one of the two a la carte restaurants (Italian/Egyptian) where the food is a level or two up from whatâs served in the buffets. Go hungry - the Egyptian meal included a starter of hot and cold mezze, a soup, a main course and a dessert (with alternative plant-based and kiddiesâ menus).
The resort has done a lot to ensure that it is eco friendly. Apart from the usual request to hang up towels to save water on unnecessary cleaning, they also purify their own water, which is left in your room in chilled glass bottles (it tastes a little weird, but itâs good for the planet).
Overall, highly recommend the Solymar resort.
GGuest UserWe booked a three-bed room with a great location, right in front of the swimming pool. We could see the show at night, and there was a children's playground. All three meals were included, including Western food. You could also pre-order Italian and Asian food. The kids had a blast!
MMounirMinaIf I can rate this hotel more than 5 stars, I will do so.
Those people are hospitality gurus, the way they treated me and my family made us all overwhelmingly happy. Every single detail was taken into consideration and exceeded my expectations.
-Once in the restaurant my son was hesitant and in seconds the chef made him a special order that suits his taste.
-Snacks and pizzas are so yummy.
-The hotel is nice and cozy.
-The views are relaxing.
-Super clean Rooms, Pools and restaurants.
-The main restaurant served seafood several times. However, It was never smelly and this is a plus.
-Access was available to Jaz Casa Del Mar's lovely sandy beach.
Words won't express my feelings when the hotel sent me a complimentary birthday cake on my birthday and another compliment was sent the next day (fruit platter, nuts and maccaronsđđ)
Special thanks to reception team members (Mohamed for his close follow up on any issue, Ibrahim for his complement and Philopater for receiving us).
Special Thanks to the pool bar men (Abd El Salam and Mina) they served delicious coctails đđ
-Special thanks to Ali Barakat in the Snacks bar
-Special thanks to Ali & Hamdoun in the main restaurant.
-Special thanks to Mohamed from the room service team.
-Special thanks to Fares at the beach.
-Special thanks to Sentido's team for making our vacation an unforgettable one.
Will be back again soon ISA
All the best...
GGuest UserAnd parents, here for a day. The hotel is full of crooked nuts with children, basically no couples, all family, a lot of children, especially interesting, I am the only three Chinese, no discrimination. Health needs to be improved, the bedside tables are all mattresses, the bedding must be wearing pajamas, the ball is too serious, and it is panicking. The staff are very enthusiastic. The restaurant is good. Go to the front desk to make an appointment for Japanese food and other specialty restaurants before 10 o'clock every day. The Japanese food is very formal teppanyaki. The Japanese master does it on the spot. A table is a reception for 10-12 people. There are a lot of meals in the big restaurant, you can find what you like. The hotel has its own beach, not the glass sea from the beach, this one does not enter the water? This one has a water world, many pipes.
GGuest Userproperty, but service and logistics need improvement
I have mixed feelings about our stay. On the positive side, the hotel is new and very well-designed. The restaurant is spacious with great indoor and outdoor seating, and the breakfast was decent. The beach is stunningâvery quiet with crystal clear waterâbut be careful entering the sea as there are many rocks at the shoreline.
However, there are several drawbacks:
Service: The staff seems very inexperienced. We were charged to upgrade from a single to a double room even though the website listed them at the same price. At breakfast, we had to ask for coffee multiple times before it actually arrived.
Facilities: Surprisingly, the main pool is not heated, and there is no elevator, which is worth noting if you have heavy luggage or mobility issues.
Location: You are quite isolated here. You definitely need a car or a shuttle to get anywhere.
Overall, itâs a nice physical space, but the management needs to better train the staff to match the ânewâ feel of the resort.
FFangaodexingkongThis is a classic all-inclusive resort, and our check-in process was smooth from start to finish. They even allowed us to check in an hour early since a room was available, and the staff were very friendly.
The hotel's beach offers beautiful sunrise views, located right next to the main restaurant. Plus, the public areas of Arabella and Azul hotels are interconnected, so you can take photos in the public spaces of both hotels â it's a very photogenic place.
The restaurant food offers a good variety, and the taste is decent. The pizza at the Italian restaurant is quite good and worth prioritizing.
The biggest surprise was that even though we checked out at 12:00 PM, we didn't leave until 4:00 PM. The staff let us keep our wristbands, which meant we could continue to enjoy the hotel's services and the lounge. Big thumbs up to that! đ
BbinemomWe chose this hotel because there aren't many places in Hurghada that accommodate three adults. The extra bed was perfectly fine for someone of average build. The atmosphere varied by area; we were in a quieter section with mostly older European guests. The food was average, and the slow drink service or inability to get drinks right away was a bit inconvenient.
AAlinaNiyazaliTypical Egypt with its typical nuances.
There's a high turnover of people; to eat, you have to try to find a place inside, and if outside, you have to manage to eat before the crows eat your food. The food selection is average, as is the quality (my tummy was pretty upset after my last dinner).
I stayed in the ânewâ building, 6232. It's the very last building on the left side of the sea pool.
As far as I know, compared to the old building, it's Luxury.
I had virtually no complaints about the room. The lights worked, the air conditioning worked, the shower/toilet worked. The linens didn't feel fresh at all, though...
There were ants wandering around the refrigerator, but that must have been something the previous guests left for them to eat.
The room was superficially cleaned; beach sand from previous guests remained during my stay and never disappeared.
The staff were top-notch! On beer since 10:00 and with the vibe of the 2000s))
It's perfectly fine to hang out for three days.
MM440560****The check-in process at the front desk was incredibly slow; I waited over ten minutes, only to be given a room completely different from the sea-view room I bookedâit faced a wall! I had to get angry before they finally switched me to a room with a sea view. Itâs best to double-check everything at the front desk when checking in, especially since the rooms are quite a distance from the front desk, and the restaurant is across from the front desk, requiring a walk from the beach.
This hotel's pool and beach don't prohibit Muslim swimwear, but the cleanliness felt average, and the facilities are a bit old. A particular note for parents: the pool under the children's play area is very deep. Even though there are lifeguards, parents should definitely accompany their children.
The food is typical Egyptian quality, with freshly cut fruit and two dishes prepared live daily. The location is quite good, right in the middle of a lively area and very close to the city pier. However, be cautious of the small Egyptian souvenir shops to the left of the main entrance; I don't recommend them. If you really want to shop there, go with a group.
The hotel also has its own pier for direct sea excursions, but be sure to choose your boat captain carefully. The hotel's landscaping is well-maintained with many cats, and the beach water is crystal clear, perfect for spotting small fish and water birds. There's morning yoga by the sea and evening entertainment. There are many hotels in this area, so you might consider staying at a few to get a different experience.
AAlixosLetâs start with that the team went above and beyond so that we have the best experience. We got a very clean and modern room but was on the ground floor. We asked for a room on a higher floor so they showed us different options but clarified that they werenât renovated yet. The next day they moved us to a renovated room on a higher floor (the photos attached). The teamâs response is quick. We had breadkfast and dinner included. The breakfast is a variety of cheese, turkey and chicked slices, baked goods, pancakes eggs, sausages, vegetables, fruits and drinks, etc. The dinner we had was mainly salads, rice, kufta (minced beef with spices, cooked potatoes, duck, baked goods, and deserts.
Finally, the resort has access to the beach/sea, it is across the street though and a 10 min walk away.Â
Thanks for the team for making our experience and vacation as chill and relaxing as possible.
