4-Star Hotels in Hurghada

The Solymar beach resort is not the most expensive resort in the Hurghada/Safaga area, but it’s also not the cheapest. Because of this, we were expecting it to be quite middle-of-the-range in terms of quality. At every turn, we were pleasantly surprised and delighted. The staff were friendly and courteous - whether at the reception, in the restaurant, or walking past someone watering the grass, you are guaranteed a friendly greeting. Everyone is quick to know their customers - after just a day in our usual spot on the beach, Ahmed knew our usual order. The hyper-energetic Magic Entertainment team members were also quick to build rapport and make us feel included in the resort vibes. We plunged immediately into extreme relaxation with a “honeymoon massage” at the spa, which included time in the dry and steam saunas, a special hammam exfoliation ritual on a heated marble slab, a full-body Dead Sea mud wrap, and an oil massage. The masseuses were talkative and playful - possibly not to everyone’s taste, but this seems to be the Egyptian way and certainly got me smiling and giggling along. There is not a moment of the day when you might be at risk of going hungry. From the early breakfast in the main restaurant, to the late breakfast at the beach, to the drinks and snacks on offer throughout the day at the pool bar and restaurant, there is always a wide array of quality F&B choices. There is some variation from day -to-day options, and it’s always worth checking out the “fresh-from-the-grill” area to see what the day’s speciality may be. Part of the stay includes one complementary meal at one of the two a la carte restaurants (Italian/Egyptian) where the food is a level or two up from what’s served in the buffets. Go hungry - the Egyptian meal included a starter of hot and cold mezze, a soup, a main course and a dessert (with alternative plant-based and kiddies’ menus). The resort has done a lot to ensure that it is eco friendly. Apart from the usual request to hang up towels to save water on unnecessary cleaning, they also purify their own water, which is left in your room in chilled glass bottles (it tastes a little weird, but it’s good for the planet). Overall, highly recommend the Solymar resort.

We enjoyed our stay at Ali pasha! The staff are very friendly and welcoming us! The hotel looks very boutique and room is very clean! Our included breakfast had a lot of the options and quite tasty. The location is close to a quiet little town and also have some good food options and easy access to to different spots via taxi or tucxi.

Rogina Hotel is beautiful and suitable for families. Reception staff Mr. Sharif, Mr. Mohamed Eid, Mr. Ahmed and all reception staff with beautiful smiles. F&B department service is excellent. Thanks and appreciation to the food and beverage department, all of them. The agriculture department, the greenery is very beautiful. And the cleaning department, thanks and appreciation to everyone. Thanks and appreciation to brother Mohamed Hassan. From the first day I entered the room, it was completely clean until I left the room. I hope that when I come again, we will be in the same room and Mohamed Hassan will be present. I recently stayed in the Sunrise Alma Bay for 8 days and the hotel atmosphere was just great. The hotel staff were so helpful. My room cleaner Ibrahim was so accommodating, friendly and efficient...and an expert in towel art! Emad at the pool bar was so welcoming and the service was excellent. Hamdy and Mohammed in the towel station/by the beach were friendly faces every morning and so helpful. Anastasia in Guest Relations came around to our table every breakfast and was able to action any little requests we had. She was very impressive with her notebook and actioning things so quickly. And lastly, when I asked to extend my room for a few hours (and very reasonable additional cost) on my last day, the Hotel Manager arranged for me to be moved to a suite on the seafront and the concierge Mahmoud was so kind in helping with my luggage and room change. I have been visiting Egypt for 10 years now and this stay has been a highlight for me because of the helpfulness and friendliness of the hotel staff, the delicious food, the pool (one of the best I have seen), and the beach front with pier and lagoona just make it the perfect location. The added bonus is that it is only about 20 mins from Hurghada airport. I would recommend this hotel to families, couples, singles and will definitely be coming back again. Thank you. Ciara

property, but service and logistics need improvement I have mixed feelings about our stay. On the positive side, the hotel is new and very well-designed. The restaurant is spacious with great indoor and outdoor seating, and the breakfast was decent. The beach is stunning—very quiet with crystal clear water—but be careful entering the sea as there are many rocks at the shoreline. However, there are several drawbacks: Service: The staff seems very inexperienced. We were charged to upgrade from a single to a double room even though the website listed them at the same price. At breakfast, we had to ask for coffee multiple times before it actually arrived. Facilities: Surprisingly, the main pool is not heated, and there is no elevator, which is worth noting if you have heavy luggage or mobility issues. Location: You are quite isolated here. You definitely need a car or a shuttle to get anywhere. Overall, it’s a nice physical space, but the management needs to better train the staff to match the ”new” feel of the resort.

We stayed in a lagoon room, very close to the beach. You can snorkel in the ocean by the boardwalk and see many fish, which was incredibly enjoyable. Besides the main restaurant, there's also a restaurant by the boardwalk for lunch, and an Aladdin restaurant for dinner that requires reservations. We made sure to book for the next day as soon as we arrived on our first day, and we got to try them all. This is a great place to relax and unwind. Remember to bring your own snorkeling mask and snorkel, as the hotel doesn't offer rentals. There is a small shop that sells them, but the prices are a bit high.

We had a pleasant stay at Siva Golden Bay Makadi. The hotel is beautiful with an incredible view. Everything is very clean, and our room was spotless. The staff are super friendly, attentive, and very accommodating. A special shout-out to Ahmed, who takes care of the room cleaning, and Hussein Ali, who kindly offered us a late check-out. The beach is magnificent, the pool is very clean, and the facilities are varied and of good quality. Regarding the food, it was okay. The afternoon barbecue was quite good, as was dinner, but we really didn't like the breakfast. The only downside is that the hotel is far from the city center, but it's perfect for getting away from it all. We didn't encounter any French tourists at the hotel; there's a strong Slavic presence, so it definitely felt like a complete change of scenery. We recommend it a thousand times over.

Very comfortable and clean hotel. Very delicious food, especially baking. Staff incredibly kind and attentive. The hotel is located right on the shore of the sea. The sea is warm, clean. Recommend the hotel for visiting. It is my second trip to this hotel and with each time it becomes only better.
