Guest UserThe location and the beach at Sheraton Soma Bay are truly beautiful, and the welcome upon arrival was friendly and attentive. The property is well maintained, but overall it feels quite outdated and somewhat old-fashioned.
Unfortunately, we experienced several service and organizational issues during our stay. At the beach bar, we ordered a milkshake but were served a juice instead without being asked — we were later told there was an issue with the ice. Instead of informing us, the staff simply replaced the drink without consultation.
At dinner, incorrect dishes were brought to our table, and when we pointed it out, we were told the mistake was due to our ordering. One evening, a staff member pressured us to pay immediately and insisted on accompanying us to the reception to clarify the charge, even though we explained that we wanted to charge it to the room. At reception, we were told that charging to the room was perfectly fine. At check-out, we also discovered that one dinner had been charged twice. In addition, our room key stopped working several times on the day of departure — even though we had paid extra for a late check-out.
The food and beverage offering is disappointing. The selection is very limited, especially for non-all-inclusive guests, with very few healthy options. The bar menus — both at the beach bar and the main bar — are closer to snack-bar level than to a hotel of this category. All-inclusive wine is served from cartons, and plastic water bottles are placed on the dinner tables. At breakfast, fresh juices often ran out quickly and were not refilled.
The restaurant is frequently overcrowded, making it difficult to find a table. Compared to other hotels in Soma Bay, this property offers noticeably less atmosphere, entertainment, and overall quality.
In Conclusion: Beautiful location and beach, but service, organization, and overall standards unfortunately do not meet expectations for a hotel in this category. There are clearly better alternatives in Soma Bay.

Guest UserThe sea view from this hotel is beautiful, and the property is quite large, giving it a real resort feel. There are about four or five restaurants, but the food is a bit monotonous and average. If you're not too picky about food and just want to sunbathe, enjoy the sea view, and swim in shallow waters, then it's a good choice.
Regarding the discrimination everyone is concerned about, it definitely exists, and it's specifically targeted at Chinese guests. When dining at the Asian restaurant and another nearby one, there were several ****** waiters. They would serve white guests with a smile, proactively asking what juice they wanted, but completely ignore Chinese guests or pretend not to understand what juice they were asking for. It's not overt discrimination, but you can feel the subtle bias everywhere.
From the moment I checked in at the front desk with my Chinese passport, it seemed the differential treatment began. I visited in early June during the off-season, and the hotel was noticeably empty and quiet. Yet, they insisted that buildings 3 and 4 were full and that only a ground-floor room was left in building 5. The front desk staff's attitude was also very poor. Only one gentleman during checkout and a lady named Riwan, who spoke excellent Chinese, treated Chinese guests well.
It's not about tipping! Because most of the white guests I observed were 'poor whites' who didn't tip anyway – wealthy whites would be in Southern Italy, not here. Yet, the staff treated them much better. For Chinese guests, they would rudely shout 'China, China, nihao' and try to scam more money. Sigh, there were still some staff members who had good attitudes and didn't discriminate. There was also a bellboy who proactively smiled and helped me; I tipped him because I felt his service was well-deserved.
In summary, that's my experience. Many Chinese tourists choose this place, roughly half of the total guests, paying the same price, but unfortunately not receiving equal treatment.

This resort is a true oasis. The grounds are filled with vibrant greenery leading right to a pristine beach. A highlight was the traditional Arabic tea house—a must-visit! Our room was exactly as advertised: fresh and modern with a full panoramic water view and the bonus of a bath. It is ideally situated for explorers, being right by the mall and only a 30-minute stroll to the heart of the Old Town. Excellent food and a great overall vibe.

We stayed in Jaz hotel for 4 days in early April in a deluxe pool-view queen room.
Positives:
- The hotel is situated in a very convenient location, on the touristic promenade and quite close to the airport.
- The pools are great, the hotels has in total 6 pools and even though we sometimes had difficulty finding an empty spot to sit at the main pool, we could always find a spot on the other pools where the atmosphere was equally amazing and very relaxing.
- The restaurant quality is top notch, one of the best culinary experiences I have ever had anywhere, with a big variety across the different days, along with a focus on egyptian food and seafood, which i appreciated. The restaurant’s head chef himself supervised the dinner serving and gave us daily recommendations.
Negatives:
- The staff is helpful but not as overtly friendly and willing to help as we had experienced in other hotels. Service can sometimes be quite slow.
- The room furniture, even though it’s modern, looks a bit used and is not very well maintained.
- The rooms are clean, but again not at the same level of cleanliness you would expect at this price level.
- Internet speed is quite low (2-3 Mbps), so no streaming possible
- There are daily nightly entertainment programs, however, they are not as varied or extensive as other hotels i had experienced. I got the impression that the hotel is more targeted towards older travelers who prefer the peace and quiet and don’t care about nightly activities, but it may be because of the time of the year I visited in.
Overall, it was a good experience and the negatives I listed can be considered nitpicky, but honestly, at this price level, I would expect a flawless experience and I have had better experiences at this price level in Hurghada. The only clear positive for Jaz is the quality of the restaurant.

Paulka215I recently stayed at Mercure Hotel, and overall I had a really good experience.
The food was alright—definitely better than what I’ve had in all-inclusive hotels in Turkey or Tunisia. There was a wide variety of dishes, including lots of tasty options, cakes, tea, coffee (which was actually good), cocktails, and decent beer.
The service was excellent. The staff were very polite and always willing to help—you can ask them anything and they’ll do their best. A special mention goes to Ahmed, the kitchen chef, who is an incredibly kind person. He really stood out, and I’d give an extra star just for him.
The resort overall is not as busy as many other places in the area, which I really liked. It’s a smaller hotel compared to others nearby, with a simple, nice look—white buildings with brown windows, just like in the photos. It’s not a big aqua park-style resort, but honestly that was a plus for me, as I could relax without too many kids around.
The beach is nice and quiet, perfect for relaxing. There are comfortable beds with shades/umbrellas around, so you can always find a good spot. The hotel has three swimming pools—the one next to the main restaurant is very large and usually empty, as most people stay at the smaller pool or by the beach.
The sea water was a bit cold for my preference, but it’s beautifully clear and very clean. Many people really enjoy it, especially for snorkeling—there are amazing snorkeling spots right next to the resort.
Rooms are cleaned every day, and you get two bottles of water per room daily, which is a nice touch.
There are also plenty of activities: you can play tennis (though they only have one set of rackets), mini golf is included in the stay, and there’s a gym which is usually empty. There are snacks available by the pools and the beach, and a bar in the main restaurant.
Outside the hotel, taxis are easy to find either at the lobby or on the street. Just make sure to agree on the price beforehand, or use the inDrive app—it’s usually cheaper than Uber or Careem, and you agree on the price upfront.
There are a few shops nearby as well. If you need medication, it’s better to order from Self Care Pharmacy (you can find them on Facebook). For example, I ordered Antinal and rehydration salts with delivery for only 250 Egyptian pounds. They can deliver pretty much anything you need, and it’s much cheaper than buying inside the resort—definitely good to be prepared for emergencies.
Overall, it’s a clean, more peaceful hotel with good service, plenty of food options, and lots to do. A great place to relax and enjoy the Red Sea.

Anonymous UserOur stay at Steigenberger Aqua Magic in Hurghada was absolutely fantastic! The overall environment is beautiful, with lush greenery, numerous pools, and relaxing areas everywhere, creating a wonderful vacation vibe.
The room was clean, tidy, and quite spacious. The bedding was comfortable, making for a very relaxing stay. Housekeeping was prompt every day, and the attention to detail was excellent.
The dining experience was also a big plus. The buffet offered a wide variety of choices that changed daily, and the food tasted great, catering to different preferences.
The hotel's water park is definitely a highlight, with plenty of facilities perfect for families with kids or friends looking to have fun. The private beach is another gem, with fine sand and beautiful clear water, making for great photo opportunities.
Overall, the service was top-notch. The staff were friendly and responsive, making us feel very comfortable.
All in all, this is a highly recommended resort hotel with great value for money, perfect for relaxation and leisure. We would definitely come back if we have the chance! 👍

We had a disappointing experience using Uber while trying to go to Senzo Mall, which is actually very close to the hotel. The price shown in the app was 1 pound, but the driver asked for 5 pounds instead. This made us feel uncomfortable and sadly felt like we were being taken advantage of.
Because of this, we decided not to proceed and instead booked a taxi directly through the hotel. Although the price was 4 pounds, it felt much safer, clearer, and more reliable.
For other travelers, we would recommend using the hotel’s taxi service for peace of mind, especially if you are unfamiliar with the area.
As a small suggestion, it would be great if the hotel could consider providing a shuttle bus service for guests to travel around nearby places such as Senzo Mall, which would make getting around even more convenient and comfortable.

Great location, the old town with shops and restaurants is within walking distance, the Zeytona beach island is nearby, you can get there by boat or walk 10 minutes, there is a restaurant on this island with a bar. Great breakfasts. Excellent service everywhere, the guys try very hard, and not under pressure, but from the heart. The hotel is, of course, to put it mildly, ”tired”, it needs renovation, but the efforts of the staff and the location compensate for this))). I will be happy to come back.
