Amazing
GGuest UserWe were very pleased with the hotel and stayed there at both the beginning and end of our trip to Italy. We rented a car at the airport and parked it right in front of the hotel's door in a private courtyard. That was very convenient. I believe they charged us about 35 Euros each night for that perk. The hotel was luxurious, and the staff were very accommodating and pleasant. They had someone carry our bags to and from our room during check-in and check-out. Everything in the large room worked; it was clean, and there was a safe to store your valuables. As Americans, a few reminders or unexpected things to note. You'll need a power adapter (easily purchased on Amazon) and, unless you bring a voltage converter, make sure any appliances (CPAP, travel steamer/iron, etc) are compatible with both 110V and 220/230V. We didn't find washcloths in any of the hotels in Italy, so we just used hand towels in the shower. The shower at this hotel (both rooms) was a bath/shower combination. There was no shower curtain or door, only a small partition near the removable shower head to keep the water from splashing everywhere, which it basically did. While it is a beautiful historic building, there are a couple of elevators at this hotel, so you don't need to lug your stuff up a bunch of stairs. The room key is enormous and they only give you one. We kept ours in the car whenever we left the hotel so we wouldn't carry it around. Even though we had a car, we found it more convenient to leave it at the hotel and take an Uber to Vatican City rather than walk more than a mile each way, which we also did twice. The area surrounding the hotel was historic and lots of fun. Plenty of places to shop and eat. The breakfast buffet at the hotel each morning was also superb. Plenty of hot and cold items to fill you up before trekking out. That's about it. Don't forget to check out the view from the rooftop at the hotel. Have a great time in Rome!

OOuhuajiaoyuIt was quite a challenging stay. The requests I made in the booking were completely ignored. Upon arrival, we had to change rooms, which seemed to upset the front desk staff quite a bit. A South Asian porter helped us with our luggage. I didn't have any small change, as I mostly pay with cards and rarely use cash, so I only gave him a 2 Euro coin as a tip. From that moment on, whenever he saw us, he showed absolutely no expression. I mean, it's not like I was going to give him a 200 or 500 Euro bill, right? Was it even worth that much? The hotel breakfast was excellent. The room, although not as good as the original one after the change, was still acceptable. The location is fantastic: just a few dozen meters from the train station, and there's an airport shuttle right outside. There are no issues with the location, and the area isn't as chaotic as some say. The only problem is that all the staff had rather cold and indifferent expressions, making you feel, for a moment, like you weren't even in Italy! I won't be staying here again, even with its many advantages. I just don't want to deal with their attitudes!

GGuest UserAn Unforgettable Stay with Exceptional Service at Starhotels Hello, I’m a traveler from Korea who recently stayed at Starhotels during a family trip to Italy. Our 4-day stay in Rome was so wonderful that I felt compelled to write this heartfelt review as soon as I returned home. This trip was our very first family vacation to Europe — with my mother and my son — and we spent the first three days in Rome at Starhotels. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations: the excellent location, the spotless rooms, and most of all, the warm and thoughtful service from the staff made our stay incredibly comfortable. We were so satisfied that we decided to return to Starhotels for our final night in Italy. However, due to a mistake on my part, I accidentally booked the wrong date. After completing a long 11-day journey through southern Italy, we returned to Rome exhausted — only to realize the booking was incorrect when we arrived at the hotel. It was a stressful and overwhelming moment… until Mr. Tofael M., the manager, kindly stepped in to help us. Before even fully understanding the issue, Mr. Tofael looked us — especially my son — in the eyes and simply said, “Don’t worry.I’ll find a solution for you.” Those few words brought such relief and comfort. In a foreign country, such a mistake can feel paralyzing, but his calm and genuine reassurance made a huge difference. Even more touching was how Mr. Tofael and Ms. Paola S. at the front desk went out of their way to find a solution for us. Since the booking was made through an external site (not directly through the hotel), it was a complicated issue. Nevertheless, Mr. Tofael personally made multiple calls and followed up diligently until he was able to resolve the matter. Thanks to his efforts, we were able to spend our last night in Italy exactly where we wanted — back at Starhotels, feeling safe and cared for. As someone who has worked for years in global hotel chains in Korea and is still in the hospitality industry, I can honestly say that their professionalism and dedication truly stood out. They are a model of what true hoteliers should be — and they absolutely deserve recognition and praise. Without hesitation, I will choose this hotel again when I return to Rome. I also plan to recommend Starhotels, along with the outstanding service of Mr. Tofael and Ms. Paola, to as many people as possible through blogs, travel communities, and any platform I can. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

YYuen NgaThe Unbeatable Gateway: Why This Hotel is My New Travel Holy Grail Just stumbled upon a hotel so perfectly positioned, it feels like discovering a secret cheat code for seamless travel. Forget everything you know about compromise – this place delivers *everything* without the premium price tag. Its location isn't just good; it’s **utterly transformative** for any traveler, especially weary souls like me arriving from long-haul flights. **The Transport Trifecta: Your Effortless Escape Hatch** Stepping out the lobby door feels like holding a master key to the city. Directly downstairs? **Airport buses**! No frantic taxi hunts or confusing shuttle transfers. After a 14-hour journey, seeing that bus stop literally steps away, offering a smooth, affordable ride back to the terminals, was pure bliss. It’s the kind of stress-eraser you only appreciate after dragging luggage across multiple blocks elsewhere. But it gets better. A stone's throw away lies the **central train station**. Not some distant suburban outpost, but the genuine hub connecting you to *every* district, landmark, and hidden gem. Regional day trips? Easy. Exploring quirky neighborhoods? Done. Late-night returns? No problem. The station's comprehensive network meant I could spontaneously chase a sunset view across town or visit a famed museum district without a single transport worry. Freedom, truly unlocked. **The Heartbeat of the City: Steps, Not Strides** Here’s the magic dust: **walkability**. Forget ”close to the center” meaning a 20-minute trek or an expensive Uber. The vibrant city core – pulsating with main squares, iconic cafes, bustling markets, and those irresistible little boutiques – is a mere **10-15 minute stroll** away. I timed it! Wandering home through charming, illuminated streets after dinner, gelato in hand, soaking in the atmosphere without racing for transport… that’s the authentic travel experience we crave. You’re *in* the city, not just near it. **Beyond Logistics: The Pulse of Convenience** The immediate neighborhood isn’t just a transit zone; it’s alive! Need a midnight snack? Corner store open late. Craving authentic local breakfast? Charming bakery two doors down. Forgot your adaptor? Electronics shop around the corner. Pharmacies, casual eateries, coffee spots – it’s all there, woven into the fabric outside your door, making daily needs effortless and adding genuine local flavor. **The Jaw-Dropper: Value That Feels Like a Steal** Given this prime location and unparalleled connectivity, you’d expect a premium price, right? Prepare for a shock. The rates are **remarkably affordable**. It’s not just ”budget-friendly”; it’s **outrageous value**. I kept double-checking, convinced there must be a catch. Clean, comfortable room, essential amenities, friendly staff, *and* this location? For this price? It feels less like paying for a hotel and more like investing in a seamless, enriching travel experience. **The Verdict: Don't Hesitate, Just Book** Honestly? This hotel isn't just a place to sleep; it's the ultimate **strategic basecamp** that elevates your entire trip. The unbeatable combo of instant airport access, total city-wide rail connectivity, effortless walkability to the core, vibrant local amenities, *and* genuine affordability is simply unmatched. It removes friction, saves precious time and money, and lets you focus purely on experiencing the destination. After raving about it to fellow travelers at breakfast, I watched them immediately pull out their phones to check availability. It’s that obvious. This isn't just *a* good option; **it’s the smartest choice you can make**. Book it before everyone else discovers this golden spot – you’ll thank yourself from the moment you step off the plane until your final, effortless journey back to the airport. An absolute traveler's triumph!

PPhillipsBenjaminWe stayed here for four nights in June of 2025. The location of the hotel is generally good for getting to some of the more noteworthy site (Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, etc.). There's a metro station around 8 minutes walk away, which opens up most of the rest of the city pretty well. We walked from here to the Vatican, which took around 35 minutes, but would be less than half that by cab. The surrounding area is great for clothing shops, but the food we found nearby was mostly so-so, and frequently over-priced tourist fare, though I'm sure if you walk a little farther from the hotel you can find some good options. The room itself was booked for a family of four, and was comfortable. The bathroom and shower had good water pressure, and the AC worked just fine. Some of the sheets were not quite clean, but we just didn't use the one we found slightly dirty. The beds were comfortable and a good size. The room and hotel have little to no facilities, so you're really just paying for room and the location. The exterior entrance is not well marked, and we actually walked past it on the street several times. If you're thinking of booking here, I'd recommend just looking for the GAP store which is directly across the street, much easier to find. Our interactions with the hotel staff were limited. We received a number of automated messages, some of which were contradictory, or had out of date information. After booking and paying for the room (a non-refundable booking) we were told there was an extra ”city tax” not included which would need to be paid before checking in which amounted to around an extra $90 or so, and the offered price of an airport transfer service went up as soon as we requested it (from 85 euros to 95). The hotel arranged the transfer service for us, but the driver left the airport before we could get out of the passport control due to another booking. The driver service showed up at the hotel at the time the flight was supposed to arrive, even though the flight was late, and you'd expect them to know that going through passport control takes easily an hour, so this seems to be quite poor planning on behalf of either the hotel or the service. We ended up taking a taxi from the airport which was also slightly over half the price of the transfer service, so I'd recommend skipping their service, it seems like a rip-off. Taxis from the airport to the city center seem to be subsidized by the government, and were a fixed price of 55 euros (for a normal size car big enough for 4 people) at the time we visited. The train from the airport is also not a bad idea if you're comfortable using the metro, as the train station is just 3-4 metro stops from the nearest metro station to the hotel (Spagna). Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but felt like we mostly paid for the location.

DdisasterEXEHotel Caravel is a few blocks away from Stazione Garbatella. The staff speak Spanish, English, and Italian (probably other languages as well). I had the pleasure to stay at Caravel for seven days with my father and they were very accommodating to his needs (such as keeping his laptop safe and providing him with an electric kettle for a night time cup of tea). They also have electric plug adaptors, and they offer third party laundry services. The hotel has accessible ramps, and the venue has a clothes store, bar, breakfast bar and restaurant. The breakfast buffet is very varied with some food items made in-house. I hope I get to stay with them next time I visit Rome. My favorite breakfast (which I had almost every day) is seen in this picture.

ИИлья КотикTLTR: This is not a 4 star hotel. The location is great, but literally everything else is a compromise… Let me start with 2 advantages of this hotel, since it won’t take long. The first is location. You literally take the north exit from Roma Termini to Via Marsala, cross two streets and take a right - and you are there! It’s that simple :) The other advantage is breakfast: it’s the same everyday, but it’s decent, much better than I expected. And now to the disadvantages… First and foremost: there was black mold in the bathroom! Lots of it. Why “lots”? Because the acceptable amount of mold in the bathroom for a 4 start hotel is zero. Second, the bed didn’t have a headboard. Do you know the acceptable number of headboards for a 4 start hotel? You guessed it: at least one :) The bed was actually two beds crammed together (which I don’t mind), but there was no duvet cover! Seriously: there was a sheet to sleep on, a separate sheet to cover yourself, a warm blanket and a sheet to put over it! Needless to say that during the night the sheet that was between the body and the blanket would be carried away. And yeah, all this 3-in-1 construction was tucked under the mattress like the future of Italy depends on it! What the actual ****?! Do you sleep like that at home? I bet you don’t; so, why would you sleep like that in a 4 star hotel?! Thirdly, there were no slippers, no microwave, no ******* table to eat from, no teakettle, no iron, no shower curtain, nothing! What we got was two paper cups in the bathroom and that’s it. 4 star hotel class service, right? It gets better! If we wanted hot water, we had to go downstairs from the 4th floor to get it from a broken *** mid-sized boiler located right next to the reception desk! Dear guests of this 4 star hotel, please don’t mind my wife getting some hot water for her noodles while you check in and pay tourist tax, it’s fine. When in Rome, you know… Fourthly, the quality of everything in the room was not great… to say the least. The walls were dirty, the hair dryer was really bad, the bottom of the bathroom door was broken. What the ****, guys?! Have you heard of amortization of assets or something? Not cool, not cool. I pay the tax, you fix the ******* door, ok? Lastly, my favorite… there was such a big gap under the front door of the room that everything that was happening on the hotel floor sounded like it was happening in our corridor. I don’t mind people walking past our door, but it really felt like there constantly was a stranger in our room. Couldn’t sleep well because of that. And let me tell you that there was some loud love-making somewhere on the floor… and I felt like a couple was ******* in our corridor! 4 star hotel experience? Not by a bit… All right, let me tell you why I put such a stress on this “4 star hotel” thing. The problem is that in Italy stars in a hotel don’t mean anything! I mean, they mean that the building has a certain amount of facilities, space, etc., but there is no correlation with the quality of staying in a room. Seriously, we stayed in a 3 star hotel in Venice and the room there was much better! To sum it up, this hotel is nice if you need a quick stay next to the railway station… but if you plan to spend more than two days in it… just pick something else if your budget allows. If not: well, you still got the location and the breakfast :) P.S. Cheers to the Asian and the African girls at the reception desk! You are the best :)

AAnonymous UserTraveling to Rome, I unexpectedly booked this Ibis, which is exceptionally good value. It is less than a kilometer walk from the subway. The hotel is next to a quiet community on a high ground. It is very quiet, and people are running in the early morning. The transportation is convenient, and the nearby bus and light rail are good to go everywhere. The key is that the breakfast is particularly rich. There is a Chinese restaurant opened by Wenzhou people next to the subway station. Occasionally, you can adjust your stomach. It is not expensive and quite authentic. I went out to play in Pompeii for a day, and the luggage was stored in the hotel. The service was also very good. It will still be my first choice next time I come.
