The room was quiet and the staff were warm and attentive. The front desk even helped us carry our luggage to the room because of our age, which was a nice touch. The only downside was that the bed was a bit firm. The location is excellent for sightseeing; it's very close to Shichahai, Nanluoguxiang, and Yandai Xiejie. I'd definitely stay here again on my next trip to Beijing.
Nestled in Nanluoguxiang, this hotel offers a peaceful retreat amidst the hustle and bustle. The accommodation is in a separate building, requiring a key card for entry. Food deliveries are handled by a robot, which is a nice touch.
On our last day, I suddenly felt unwell. Our checkout was scheduled for 12 PM, but I called the front desk to request an extension until 2 PM, which they graciously granted. Later, I inquired about the cost for an hourly room extension, but to our surprise, the front desk extended our checkout for free until 3:30 PM. We're so grateful for their kindness!
The location of the Jingman Courtyard Hotel was perfect for our travels. It was just a 300-meter walk to a bustling street (where we could grab a Luckin Coffee early in the morning). We could also walk to the Forbidden City and Shichahai in under an hour, and then stroll back to the courtyard through Nanluoguxiang and various hutongs.
We chose the boutique king room, and the king-sized bed was genuinely massive and incredibly comfortable! The en-suite bathroom was small but perfectly formed and functional. The only downside was that even with the hot water turned up full blast, it couldn't quite combat the freezing winter temperatures, though the room's heating helped alleviate that.
The communication with the courtyard hotel, before, during, and after our stay, was so warm and welcoming, like family. Because of that, we could easily overlook the 'beautiful mistake' of finding some food left by the previous guests in the fridge.
The room was spotless and well-maintained with excellent facilities. The bedding was soft and comfortable, ensuring a fantastic night's sleep. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and helpful, and check-in was quick and efficient. The location is also very convenient for getting around. My friends and I had a wonderfully comfortable stay. Highly recommend!
The hotel boasts an excellent location in Qianjing Hutong, right by Shichahai. It's within walking distance to numerous attractions like Houhai, Yinding Bridge, Prince Gong's Mansion, and Beihai Park. Shichahai subway station is also easily accessible on foot. There are many old-brand restaurants nearby, placing it right in the heart of old Beijing, perfect for a leisurely stroll to experience the local life and culture. The hotel itself is very quiet, and the rooms are spacious with good functional divisions. The breakfast, while reasonably priced, is exquisite. The hotel far exceeded my expectations; I initially planned to stay for just one night, but found it to be such great value for money that I ended up staying for three. Highly recommend!
I stumbled upon the Chaoman Hotel (Gulou Houhai Branch) while strolling through Beijing's hutongs. With a 4.3 rating and having opened in 2015, I didn't have high expectations, but my stay completely won me over!
The hotel underwent a major renovation last year and switched to a new brand. All the room facilities are brand new, showing no signs of being an old hotel. The heating was excellent, the amenities were complete, and the newly replaced mattress was soft and comfortable, allowing me to sleep soundly until morning. The most surprising thing was the excellent soundproofing; despite being in the hutongs, it was remarkably quiet, ensuring I didn't disturb my rest at all.
The front desk staff were warm and patient, making check-in a smooth experience—a truly exceptional experience. The location is also superb, within walking distance of the Drum Tower, Shichahai, Nanluoguxiang, and the Imperial College, making it incredibly convenient for sightseeing, dining, and getting around. It offers a glimpse into the vibrant atmosphere of old Beijing.
It's incredibly cost-effective, with new decor, a great night's sleep, and a fantastic location. It's the perfect place to stay when visiting Beijing, and I highly recommend it!
Environment: The hotel's location is pretty good, close to the scenic area. There's a great ramen shop downstairs. Our largest room was quiet, but the soundproofing wasn't great.
Cleanliness: It was okay; they cleaned daily. However, the suite's bathroom had an odor. The receptionist gave us an extra electricity card to use for ventilation when we went out.
Service: We opened the windows every time we went out. The day we went to the Summer Palace, there was a sandstorm, and when we returned, the staff had closed the windows for us, which was very nice.
Facilities: The hotel seems to be located in a low-rise alleyway; the lack of an elevator was inconvenient.

This hotel is a hidden gem! The room was spotless, and the front desk staff were incredibly warm and efficient. It made for a perfect trip. The room facilities were complete, and the front desk lobby had an elegant design where you could even work. Plus, there are free hot drinks and coffee! It's also super close to Beijing North Station, and there are excellent dining options nearby. Highly recommend!
What a pleasant surprise this stay in Beijing was! Located on Yandai Xie Street, this hotel, formerly a century-old bathhouse, perfectly blends ancient charm with modern intelligence. It's within walking distance to Shichahai, Gulou, and Nanluoguxiang – a quiet oasis in a bustling area with super convenient access to public transport, including a nearby subway station.
The room's design is elegant, and the zero-pressure mattress provided an exceptionally restful sleep. The pillows were so comfortable that I've already recommended them and plan to buy some for myself. Every detail is thoughtfully considered, from the high-quality amenities to the stylish old photo wall.
The service was impeccable, from the check-in guidance to the recommendations for exploring the hutongs. The front desk staff and the cleaning aunties were all incredibly warm and attentive.
Excellent value for money! I'll definitely choose this place again on my next trip to Beijing. Highly recommended!
This hotel, part of the Huazhu Group, lives up to expectations in terms of comfort. Its location is fantastic, just about 50 meters from the South Gate of Nanluoguxiang scenic area and Exit E of Metro Line 8. There are plenty of shared bikes right outside, making green travel very convenient. The hotel is situated within a large compound. Being in the city center, the room size is a bit on the smaller side, with the bed against the wall, but there's still enough space to move around. Overall, it's clean and tidy. The breakfast restaurant isn't large, but it offers a good variety of dishes. The service is typically warm and generous, as expected in Beijing. My only minor gripe is that the faucets are a bit stiff and not very smooth to operate.

BBeybeybeyI'm so glad I had the chance to stay at this unique courtyard hotel. Now I can tell people about my experience living in a traditional 'siheyuan'! This modernly renovated courtyard is really excellent – quiet, self-contained, and in a prime location. It's surrounded by various mansions of high-ranking officials from the Ming and Qing dynasties, so I'm sure the feng shui is superb. Plus, this room came with a travel photography session! It was my first time doing one, and the photographer, who was called 'Good Friend,' was very experienced and easy to communicate with. He snapped away, guaranteeing great shots. In an instant, I felt like both an emperor and the head of the East Palace – what a delight! This is the authentic Imperial City experience. Highly recommend!
GGuest UserThe hotel is in Hutongli. The walking distance from Jishuitan Hospital Navigation to the main road to the hospital is a bit far. The girl at the front desk was very helpful. She even upgraded the double bed to a twin bed for free. When I went to the hospital, the girl showed me the path. It's much closer. The sanitary conditions of the hotel are pretty good. There is no breakfast, but the surrounding area is very convenient for eating. However, the price is much higher during the tourist season than usual. We stayed for ten and a half months and the price-performance ratio was not high. We checked out after staying for one day.
MM270084****This is my second time staying at this hotel, and I chose it again because my first experience last year was excellent. The staff provide great service, and the hotel's location is fantastic. It's very close to the subway station, and just a short walk away is Huguosi Snack Street, making dining very convenient. Plus, the front desk thoughtfully provides a 'treasure chest' with various small items you might need for your travels. All in all, everything was perfect!
SShuziweiThe hotel's location is excellent, right next to Guloudajie subway station, about a 200-300 meter walk. It's a quiet oasis in a bustling area, and I was quite pleased with the environment and layout. The ground floor rooms have a small courtyard, which would be very convenient if you're traveling with family. Plus, there are shared bikes available near the subway station, making it super easy to cycle to Gulou and Shichahai for sightseeing. Definitely recommended!
JJiayouxiaomulaohuThis hotel is amazing! It's designed like a traditional Beijing courtyard home (siheyuan), and it's fully equipped with everything you need. The breakfast was excellent, and the service was attentive and thoughtful. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit.
MManuel CotesOur stay at Beijing Shichahai Shadow Art Performance Courtyard was simply amazing. The atmosphere of the hotel perfectly combines tradition and modern comfort, giving us a truly unique experience in the heart of Beijing.
What surprised and delighted us the most were the shadow puppet performances, an authentic and original show that made us feel even more immersed in the local culture. It was truly unforgettable.
We want to give a very special thanks to Tom and Lily, who were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. They went above and beyond to make sure we felt at home.
We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking not just for accommodation, but for a cultural and personal experience that we will always remember with great affection.

The soundproofing isn't great; you can hear pretty much everything from the next room, but it's an old building, so that's understandable. The courtyard is very comfortable, and all the staff are friendly. It's close to the subway station, and overall, it offers good value for money.
GGuest UserEnvironment: Unexpectedly satisfied! We stayed in a small suite within a quadrangle courtyard, called Taoxichan. It was small but had everything we needed, perfect for our family with seniors and children.
Hygiene: Clean and comfortable. The whole family was very happy with it.
Location: It's not far from Nanluoguxiang, Beihai Park, Shichahai, and the subway station. Even walking at a very slow pace, you can get there in about 10 minutes. Plus, shared bikes are readily available right outside, which is super convenient.
Service: The lady at the front desk was exceptionally warm, thoughtful, and provided attentive service. We had a great experience, and her kindness truly made our stay wonderful! ♥️
AAguazhiwangBooked a parent-child room, one bed is 1.8 meters, the other is 1.2 meters, no pressure to sleep with a big baby. Clean and hygienic. Good location, very close to the subway entrance, a few more steps to Nanluoguxiang, ride a bicycle to Jingshan Park, Prince Gong's Mansion and Lama Temple. There is a Qingfeng steamed buns shop next to it, which is very convenient for eating. The room is well soundproofed and very quiet to sleep. The only drawback is that the room facilities are a bit old.
GGuest UserThe former Wangfu, the courtyard house that can be accommodated now, is very close to Nanluoguxiang, very quiet in the middle of noisy, sent the manager's arrangement to a friend, the friend said: It feels like a big event, the movie viewing experience is excellent, the environment sound effect, the terrace meal just catches up with the sunset, let people linger, The restaurant supervisor not only arranges food, but also helps to leave beautiful scenery. There have always been a courtyard plot, perfect!
