Brilliant room for us travelling as a family and the location was exceptional with us staying for a short period of him in Kyoto. Staff were amazing and hand written note when checking out was a great personal touch. Would highly recommend this hotel and if we are back in Kyoto will definitely be staying back at the Mimaru. Loved our short stay.

The room was definitely spacious, at 60 square meters, it easily trumps most Japanese hotels. The two tables were also really convenient for placing items and dining. The location is fairly convenient; you do have to walk a bit to the subway, but it's worth it for the price.

Late June and early July aren't ideal for visiting Kyoto. It's too hot and sunny, and it doesn't quite capture the beauty of Kyoto. It's a bit of a shame. I loved my last visit in September. The hotel offers free sake and beer every day, and I especially love the Sharp laundry service—it's fantastic, with no service charge. The hotel also has a refrigerator, induction cooktop, and microwave, and I really enjoyed the two bathrooms.

Guest UserMy kids are very excited about this pokemon theme room, even the eating utensils are pokeballs. They have washing machines with washing detergent, which is good for long staying travellers. Just this room is a bit too packed, and the table corners are very sharp, my little one and an adult were scratched when passing by/sitting down the sofas.
The overall experience is fantastic. The receptionist is even a Hong Kong guy, we felt extra warm welcoming.

Check in counter staff was always friendly and helpful however Room service wasn't up to standard. We stayed for 4 nights and plates and cups were in the sink and unwashed throughout and some rubbish was on the floor in the living room throughout the stay. Location is not bad as it's only 5min walk to the subway. Hotel doesnt have a car park so had to park at the public car park which is just 1 min walk away.

Highly recommended for families! The rooms are spacious, clean, and very well maintained, and the staff are incredibly helpful. Many of them speak good English, which made communication easy and comfortable.
Special thanks to the front desk staff, Louis, who went the extra mile by sending me a detailed email on how to travel back to Kansai Airport — truly appreciated.
The only downside is that the location isn’t very close to major attractions, so we had to either walk to the nearest train station or take a bus.
Overall, it was a very pleasant and comfortable stay.
