"Hygiene: Basic hygiene is fine for a hotel of this level. Environment: Very Japanese atmosphere, with warm lighting throughout the rooms, very comfortable. However, the view from the rooms isn't perfect. Facilities: The public areas are small, with a living room, a courtyard connected to a breakfast restaurant, a small bar, and a Japanese restaurant. The wellness area has everything you'd expect except for the swimming pool. Service: Local activities are fun, and the afternoon dance performances are excellent; every night they offer a special bedtime drink, like Bulgari, but each time it's a different flavor of broth—who wants a salty broth before bed? It's puzzling. In addition, turndown service includes a small Kyoto-style gift. Advantages: The core advantage of Capella Kyoto is its location, making it very convenient to walk to the Shijo Kawaramachi shopping district, and city center attractions and subway stations are also within walking distance. Temple view rooms offer views of Kiyomizu-dera Temple and the shimmering sunlight in the distance during the right season. Areas for improvement: Some hotel staff have room for improvement in English, which can sometimes cause communication problems; some non-local housekeeping staff are impolite and do not greet guests proactively. Disadvantages: As shown in the picture, even the view from the temple rooms may be directly facing a cemetery."

"The environment is great, especially the outdoor area, which is absolutely stunning. The service was also excellent; the hotel owner is from Shanghai and even walked us to our car when we left, making us feel truly at home. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Kyoto; it was so comfortable. The room isn't huge, but considering space is at a premium in Japan, it was still a very decent size."

She prepared a beautiful card, a sweet message, and even a handmade Pooh origami and placed it in our room. It absolutely made our daughter’s day — such a thoughtful touch we will never forget. We also want to commend Yuki from the restaurant team for his warm and wonderful breakfast service each morning. His kindness and attention to detail set the perfect tone to start our day. The Ritz Kids adventure passport was a delightful surprise — engaging not only for our daughter but also enjoyable for us as parents. And of course, we loved the festive Christmas atmosphere, especially the beautiful Christmas tree and the amazing gingerbread house with the incredible aroma that filled the lobby. The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto truly exceeded our expectations in every way. We felt cared for, welcomed, and genuinely appreciated. We can’t wait to return again. Highly recommended for families and anyone seeking an unforgettable Kyoto stay."

"I am from Yangzhou, Jiangsu. Although Yangzhou is a garden city, there are many such style escape hotels in Jiangsu and Zhejiang, Hongxi Noya of Hoshino Group is definitely worth living. The overall health is very good, the facilities are well maintained and there is no musty smell. That is, all the windows can be wiped clean. This time I checked in in the evening. When I took a taxi, I saw the sunset of Lushan, which was a value-added item. The reception staff was very polite and welcoming. At night, the girl was invited to drive us to the hotel entrance. This road was too standard, almost standing on the mountain, and there was a feeling of adventure. When I checked out, I felt the ship of Hoshino. By the way, I recommend the dyeing workshop and Zhai Pavilion are diagonally opposite. If you like the scenery, it is worth seeing."

"When we chose this hotel, we saw pictures and videos that made us think it was a resort estate, but it's not. There's very little to see inside the hotel; I could walk through the entire property in 5 minutes. Secondly, the hotel advertises natural hot springs, but the public ones reek of disinfectant as soon as you walk in, which is very unpleasant. The room itself was okay and had character, and the bathtub was very large with a pleasant woody scent when bathing. Finally, the breakfast – honestly, the taste was just mediocre. I wouldn't choose this hotel again at the same price point."

"The hotel is very pretty, Andre Fu never fails to impress! Breakfast was nice with good variety to choose from, would be great if we can have a drink menu as well. The room was a bit small for 3 ladies and the bathroom is quite transparent. Would be great if switchable smart glass is used instead for the bathroom window for privacy. Despite the minor inconvenience, the bathtub is amazing and spacious. It’s perfect for couple. The thermal spring is clean and is usually not busy. The hotel provides swim suit for guests as it is a mixed pool. The service was smooth and the environment is very relaxing. The only thing we didn’t like about the spring was that there is no natural lights as it is located in the basement. Don’t miss out on the morning breathing session! Special shoutout to the concierge team as they very efficiently helped us with restaurant and workshops recommendation and bookings prior to our arrival. Taxis were arranged promptly every time. We had a really good time in Kyoto and we can’t wait to come back again!"
