Amazing
LLandoXThe capsule shop's location is incredibly convenient. It's located in one of the busiest areas outside, yet the shop itself is incredibly quiet.
The service was professional and friendly, and the restrooms, capsules, and everything else were clean.
The only downside was that the area where you could chat freely was incredibly small. The rooftop area was either too hot or unusable due to rain.

Amazing
BbaharbThe hostel was exceptionally clean and well-organized. The sleeping area was larger than typical hostels, providing extra comfort for rest. The high ceilings created a spacious and airy atmosphere, eliminating any sense of confinement. Overall, staying at this hostel was a very pleasant and comfortable experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a tidy and relaxing place to stay.

KKyoto GodFUGA STAY, true to the meaning of its name “fuga” (elegance and serenity), is a refined and peaceful hideaway tucked within the heart of Kyoto.
I personally love hotels that are hidden away from the main road yet still extremely convenient—just a 3 to 5-minute walk from Omiya Subway Station and numerous Kyoto city bus stops.
If you’re into cycling or using e-scooters, there’s a Luup rental station right in front of the hotel.
The room is spacious and very comfortable for a solo traveler. It comes with two double beds that you can easily move together to form a super king-size bed. The bathroom is also large, with no sense of tightness.
The front desk staff speaks Japanese and Chinese, so communication is smooth and easy.
Honestly, I’m hesitant to praise FUGA too much—if too many people discover it, the price might go up!
P.S. Just around the corner is Tendō Shrine, only a 2-minute walk away. It felt like a beautiful encounter by fate.
FUGA STAY
FUGA STAY,
DDarrylAs a solo traveler, I highly recommend this hostel for its exceptional quality and value. I stayed in a private room for just one night, but the experience was memorable. The location is convenient, with easy access to transportation and nearby attractions, although it’s not the most centrally located spot in Kyoto. What truly stood out was the service—staff members were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and eager to help with any needs or questions. The amenities were also top-notch, including clean and comfortable facilities, well-maintained common areas, and thoughtful extras that made my stay even more enjoyable. If I ever return to Kyoto, I wouldn’t hesitate to choose this hostel again. It’s a perfect option for solo travelers looking for comfort, convenience, and excellent service.

Great
GGuest UserThis hotel has a relatively spacious room compared with others. We were assigned to a room facing the street which could be noisy at night with motorcycles roaring by. However, we were quite okay with the noises probably due to how exhausted we were during the days.
We like the conveniences of having a huge super market across from the hotel and a small kitchen inside the room. For several nights, we bought groceries at the supermarket and make balanced meals at the hotel. Since I am pre-diabetic with food restrictions , this option of preparing simple meals for myself was a big advantage
Also, the hotel had washing machines and dryers at the first floor. We just brought clothes enough for three days and do laundry there.
This hotel was located at the “lower Kyoto area,” closer to Arashiyama area. There was a bus stop right outside the hotel. To navigate the bus system in Japan, you have to remember that they drove on the right side and the bus stops were on the south side of the street if you want to go east, which was counter-intuitive for people from the left-side driving countries. Once figured out the bus system, you would have no problem getting around Kyoto.
The staff at the hotel was very polite and helpful. The gentleman who worked at the reception desk would stand up and greet us every time we passed by. He was very kind with helping us getting a taxi when we left for Kyoto Station.
I will definitely come back to this hotel if I am going to visit Kyoto again.
GGuest UserIt's similar to a Japanese economy hotel. It's quite small. It's very close to JR Nijo Station, and you can see it when you get out of the station. It is also very close to the subway station. There is a bakery, restaurant, and convenience store at the door, which is super convenient. This station is also beautiful, with cherry trees at the entrance of the station. Close to Nijo Castle, about 10 minutes on foot to Nijo Castle.
XXiguaheboluoExcellent value for money! It's right next to a bus stop and close to a supermarket. The front desk staff were very easy to communicate with. There's a common area on the fifth floor with a microwave, water dispenser, and kettle.
GGuest UserThe place has an excelente location, easy to get there. The room was cleaned and organized. However, there is no person at the front desk to ask questions or ask for help. The code for entering to the room was sent by SMS, but since we were traveling the service for SMS of our phone company does not work outside our country, so we did not receive the message since we were traveling. They do not have an e-mail address, so the check in instructions could not be send there. When we arrived to the place was late and we found the front desk empty even though we still arrived in the front desk service hours. We had a hard time contacting the hotel but luckily could get some help in calling the administration to get our room number and the code.

Good
GGuest UserMy mother and I had a very comfy stay at this traditional Kyoto home in a residential area (FYI, the private rooms are on the upper floor. The staircase will be very treacherous.) The team was great and explained everything in detail. I appreciated that they took my mother's suitcase up as I followed behind. I liked the local neighborhood feeling compared to the buzzy central area, but you will need to take a bus from across the street to get anywhere before hopping on any train. Btw there was no shortage of places to eat in the neighborhood. (The 93 bus is convenient from the hostel because it will drop you off at the entrance of the Arashiyama bamboo grove.) I would stay at this location again.
BBilly ShaoIf you can, definitely ask for the bottom bunk, it was a pain in the ass climbing up and down with the top not having a head of head space. They do provide lockers with keys to lock up your valuables. They also provide some commonly used items on top of the fridge. Shower is in the room but washroom is shared in the communal area on every floor, the toilet stalls are extremely tight, it was a challenge to sit down, will def be problematic for taller individuals. It is a bit of a walk from the station but it is very quiet at night, everyone in the room was very respectful and tried to minimize the sound as much as possible. Overall, aside from the toilet being way too crammed, everything was good.
