Pros: very good location // room with breakfast // comfortable mattress //
Cons: very limited carpark: 14 carparks vs 100 rooms // very bad soundproof // stayed deluxe room with NO SUNLIGHT WINDOW // room got no line at all, need to connect to WIFI // requested water bottle from housekeeping and they asked to call lobby first before they can provide us water!! WHAT?! // Kettle is very DIRTY //
Not recommend if you are driving unless you don’t mind to find carpark.

Honestly hoping to gate keep this hotel. Hotel Hong is a great choice if u re a down to earth person, who values a humbling short stay around Jonkers area. Location is walkable to Jonkers Street, just nice to keep u away from the noisiness of it for a good night rest - only if u re ok with paper thin, zero sound insulation walls. The room is compact, able to fit 2 pax but honestly just perfect for one. Aircond working well, if not there’s always the ceiling fan. The queen bed is comfy, towels are clean, water pressure is sufficient to rinse off shampoo for medium to long hair female, but no hair dryer to be found. Overall, the inside of the room and bathroom are clean, but not so much for the window parts, super dusty, and previous tenants clearly violates the no smoking rules as cigarette butts and undies were found threw away stuck on the window panes. Both room and bathroom have good natural day lights and ventilation, but it can attract a bit of mosquitoes if left open. Furnitures are old and worn out, still good enuf to accommodate a few days of stay. Plus, room air re freshener not working as well. And, the bathroom shelves were horrible slanted - couldn’t place toiletries without it fallen off. Although, it s located opposite the mosque, the call of prayer wasnt as much of a sound annoyance compared to the paper thin room walls. The bed head is situated against the wall of the next room which sadly is the bathroom, hence you can hear every flush, water pipe turns happening next door.
Best of all, the aunty at the receptionist is the greatest, super accommodating, easy- going and friendly. Psst, theres an upstairs hangout area sorta like a rooftop, nice for a chill calm night, keep the rowdiness at Jonkers. Dont expect a VIP treatment, make the bed services. This is humble hotel, value for money stay that should only be appreciated by like minded travellers.

The location is fantastic, everything is within walking distance! The air conditioning was super cold, and the projector worked flawlessly. The service was excellent, and I even got a welcome drink before checking in.
I did have two issues, though. Firstly, the soundproofing is really poor. I'd get woken up by footsteps before my alarm even went off (I think the stairs might be wooden, but whatever the material, the walking noise was really loud). The hotel thoughtfully provided earplugs, which I appreciate, even if I'm not used to using them.
Secondly, the parking is a 5-minute walk from the hotel. If they offered a shuttle service for guests, this hotel would easily be a 4.5-star place, especially because the weather in Malacca is really hot and luggage can be heavy.

I like this hotel, so near to Jonker street, good food, history and shopping. The staffs are friendly and very helpful. The hotel is like a museum, lots of historical items, Melacca history, displays and awesome experience of an peranakan house.
I appreciate there is free parking and most unexpected... there are EV charging points.
We had a wonderful experience, will be coming back again.

I stayed at AAVA Malacca Hotel during my trip to Malacca and here’s my honest impression.
Pros:
The location is excellent — right next to Jonker Street and the riverside promenade, perfect for exploring the city’s highlights on foot.
Rooms are spacious and comfortable, with plenty of hot water available for showers.
The interior design reflects a charming Peranakan (Nyonya) style, which adds cultural character to the stay.
Cons:
Bathroom amenities are limited to a single 3-in-1 product, which may not suit all guests.
No slippers are provided, which can be inconvenient.
The hotel does not have an elevator, so carrying luggage upstairs can be difficult.
Check-in timing was not punctual. Although the booking stated rooms would be available at 3:00 PM, I only received mine at 3:30 PM.
Overall Impression:
AAVA Malacca Hotel is a solid choice if you value location, spacious rooms, and cultural décor. It’s especially convenient for travelers who want to be close to Jonker Street and the riverside. However, guests should be prepared for some practical shortcomings, including limited amenities, no elevator, and occasional delays at check-in.

Location is superb, walking distance to Jonker street and Stadthuys, yet in a quiet environment. Room is clean and big. Staff of both morning & night shift are friendly & helpful 👍🏼
The aircond of our room is not cold enough, we got a standing fan upon request. Another downside is the water dispenser, no water supply on both days afternoon.
Overall it’s good, my family & I would stay here again next time.
Tips: Please prepare umbrella for the burning hot weather in Malacca.

Overall, I really like this hotel. The location is excellent and the cleanliness is well maintained. However, the atmosphere feels a bit dim. Improving the lighting would make a big difference — even just making it less dark would already make the place feel much more comfortable. If staying alone, it might feel slightly uncomfortable due to the lighting. The lift facilities could also be improved, as there is only one small lift, which can be inconvenient, especially when handling luggage. With better lighting and improved lift facilities, this hotel would be perfect.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The location is super strategic, very close to all the main tourist spots in Melaka. Plus, there's a 24-hour 7-Eleven nearby, which is really convenient. We were also able to store our luggage after check-out, which was a huge bonus.

Location and service were excellent.
Room and hotel were clean.
Cons was the sound proofing not up to the standard as we stayed at ground floor and were disturbed with noises from the floor upstairs. No TV 📺 in the room as well but It was ok since we only stayed one night.

Run by a Chinese owner, the ground floor houses a restaurant that seems to cater to tour groups. The hotel rooms are spacious and well-equipped, featuring central air conditioning and USB charging ports, so no adapters are needed. Its location is excellent, right near Jonker Street and with the Malacca River just behind it. The only downside might be the small and slow elevator. There's a 100 MYR cash deposit required for the stay, which is refunded instantly upon check-out.

Amazing
MmileendThis is a charming boutique hotel, exuding a strong Malaccan Nanyang (Southeast Asian) style. The room decor is a delightful blend of European and Nanyang influences, with high-quality materials used throughout. The lobby and public areas feature beautiful and impressive marble, and even the bathroom fixtures in the rooms are top-notch. There's an elevator, which is a great plus, as many smaller hotels often prioritize aesthetics over convenience. The room isn't huge, but it has a balcony – though I didn't use it due to the heat. The air conditioning was excellent, and the shower water pressure was great. The towels weren't brand new, but I always bring my own anyway. The toiletries are L'Occitane, which is a nice touch. Breakfast is semi-buffet style; it has everything you need, and while not super extensive, it's quite good. Each room gets two complimentary coffees to take away daily. There was a male staff member, I think named NASIK, who was incredibly friendly and happy to chat with guests. He was very helpful with luggage and looked quite Chinese, leaving a great impression. Overall, this hotel is excellent. While not directly on the river, the location is still very convenient for exploring and experiencing the local culture. My only gripe is with Trip.com – I don't understand why the price was so high when I booked. I didn't keep an eye on it, and when I checked in, I realized booking on the same day would have been much cheaper. That's likely a platform issue, not the hotel's.

Great
CChalkgrrlSince we were arriving late and staying only a few nights, I choose this hotel due to it’s location at one end of Jonker Street. Location was as described and best of all, the actual rooms were in the back of the hotel (reception was the front side facing the street), so we had restful nights / no excessive noise from the street. In the lobby there was also a water fountain with filtered hot and cold water.
The room itself was pretty big but basic an clean. There was a kettle, 2 bottles of water, 2 sachet of coffee, a desk area with chair and mirror, a rack to hang clothes and 1 side had a night stand. But please note there was no TV. We don’t really watch television while traveling so it was not an issue but it might be for some.
Only slight downsides was the aircon was not that strong but and the water in the shower never really heated up that much.

Great
CCatherineminvOverall, it was very comfortable to live in. The house is very large and has two floors. It has a TV and a KTV. However, I don’t know how to use the KTV. I spent a long time researching it when I first started using it. I brought two small dogs here this time. They are pet-friendly. I prepared the items for the dogs. I have to pay a deposit of RM200 before check-in. It will be refunded after confirmation after check-out. The communication with the landlord was smooth. The location is very close to Chinatown. It is also very close to the Red House and can be reached on foot. The overall experience is very good! Will come back again! The only drawback is that there are a lot of mosquitoes. Even though the homeowner lit mosquito coils, there were still mosquitoes and I got a few bites. I hope the homeowner will pay more attention to mosquito control in the future! Next, the room is close to the road. People who sleep on the side of the window can easily hear the sounds outside. People who sleep lightly are advised to stay away from the window! The bed is very comfortable, with moderate firmness and softness for me. Overall, it’s good. The price was about RM300 when I booked it, so the CP value is good! This time we are staying with 4 people, and the maximum number can be 6 people. The more people there are, the higher the CP value is! If the price hasn’t increased, I highly recommend it!

Great
AAlfredo KExceed my expectations!. This was my first stay here and overall a very good experience. The location is great close to top attractions and easily walkable.
The bed and pillows were very comfortable, making for a restful night. The room ensuite with bathroom that comes with new WC and completes with high pressure rain shower, hot & cold water, shampoo and body washer. The AC in the room is good and a wall fan to circulate the cold air in the room.
The hotel is clean and very close to Red Square. The locker is provided with towel, slippers, toothbrush and a bottle of drinking water.
The front desk staff were friendly & informative. The hotel is cozy, new and well-maintained with a lift and a clean pool. Even with a 3 star hotel, it feels like a 4 star hotel.
The self service simple breakfast offering mini croissant, white bread, jam, butter, local made ”kaya”, cereals & cornflakes with milk, fruits such as orange & papaya and hard boiled egg. Breakfast starts at 8 AM to end at 10AM. Coffee & Tea served with milk creamer & sugar.
The common area has a lot of seating to chill and the public areas invite socialization with other guests.
The Coffee & Tea served whole day at the common area with Coway filtered water machine that comes with Hot & Cold Water. The hair dryer, an iron and iron board are provided at the common area.
The most greatest plus point of this place is its location, you can walk to Jonker Street, Dataran Pahlawan & Mahkota Parada Mall and A Formosa within 5 to 10 mins.
The service was impeccable, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the service staff went above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay.
The central location made exploring the city convenient. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Malacca and for sure I will come back again.

GGuest UserThis hotel is located next to Jonker Street in Melaka. It is within walking distance to the Red House, which is extremely convenient. There is a night market on weekends, making the location perfect for exploring.
The hotel staff are very friendly, helpful and attentive, always ready to assist guests. I also appreciate the simple breakfast provided, which was sufficient for us. There are plenty of restaurants, local stalls, massage shops and eateries nearby.
The only slight inconvenience is that the road is closed during the weekend night market, so we have to walk to the entrance of Jonker Street if we want to take a taxi. However, this does not bother us much because Melaka is great for city walking, and overall transportation is still quite convenient.
Great location, warm service and highly recommended for family travelers!

AAnonymous UserThe location is great, right at the entrance of Jonker Street, making it very convenient for taxis. From the outside, it looks a bit unassuming, but once you step through the hotel doors, it's full of Nanyang charm.
The front desk staff spoke excellent Mandarin and even gave us a free room upgrade. The welcome drink was also delicious. However, there's no elevator, and the stairs are quite narrow, so lugging a big suitcase up to our second-floor room was a real struggle.
The room was spacious, and the bed was huge. We could even see the Jonker Street stage from our window and watch Hunan TV! The only downside was that the shower water wasn't very hot.
Considering it was during the bustling Chinese New Year, the price was really good value for money!

KKalamansi-honeyGood hotel. I had a spacious room with a window and a pleasant view from it. It was clean, with fresh linens and towels. The bed was comfortable. The air conditioning wasn't running at full power, but it cooled the room to a comfortable temperature. The shared shower was a bit inconvenient because there were no hooks to hang towels and clothes, or a shelf to place shower gel or soap. These are small details that are part of the basic necessities. Just like a mirror in the room, which was also missing. But as expected, there are water coolers with free, accessible water. The woman at the reception was very friendly and pleasant. They respond quickly to WhatsApp messages. Check-in was easy. They answer calls. I wish this hotel and its staff prosperity. They are doing a great job. I would gladly stay again, in the same room with flowers in the window.

AAnonymous UserOverall, the experience was acceptable
the ocation was convenient about a 10-15 minute ride to the city centre, which made getting around quite easy.
However, there were several issues during our stay
Cleanliness: We noticed some smallinsects on the floor. While it didn't significantly affect aur stay, it would be better if the rooms could be more thoroughly checked and cleaned.
Customer Service: All communication had to be done online through WhatsApp, as there was no face-to-face front desk service. This was quite unconventional and sometimes made things less convenient when we needed assistance urgently.
Room Equipment: One of the air conditioners in our room kept switching on and off by itself and wasn't functioning properly. Even more concerning, the hairdryer had a short circuit, produced a burning smell, and even sparked flames. This was a frightening experience, and although it was eventually replaced, waiting a full day for such a serious issue was very disappointing.
