Excellent
GGuest UserI rarely say this on my reviews, but I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this Minsu. When I come back to Quanzhou for another family holiday, I will book this place again. Firstly, the location: It is unbeatable. It is near enough to be in the midst of the action in Quanzhou (near the walking street, eateries, restaurants, shopping etc etc), yet very quiet for us to enjoy a good night’s rest, or a good conversation at night over tea. Second, the nice balance between an authentic cultural home and modernism. We had the entire Minsu to ourselves, 6 rooms in total. Renovated about 3-4 years ago, the Minsu gave us the experience of living in an authentic Chinese inn, yet the amenities were modern….comfortable beds, modern toilets, refrigerators available etc….The courtyards were also beautiful. The entire Minsu was tastefully done…..plus it was spotlessly clean. Thirdly, the owners. They were so friendly and helpful. They met us at the drop off point, and brought us to the Minsu when we checked in, helping to move some of our luggages (and they did the same thing when we checked out). They went out of their way to help purchase traditional puppet show (木偶) tickets (at a small discount somemore). After we checked out, my son left his hoodie in the room. The owners assisted to courier the jacket to the next city we were heading to (we were already in the train at that time). And lastly, every morning and every night, either Mr Du, his son or his daughter in law would invite us to join them for tea. They would then proceed to serve tea the traditional way, while having a conversation with us. They also taught us certain traditions, protocols and rules when serving tea. They have a cat called TangYuan (汤圆), in which the kids in the family enjoyed playing with. The only thing to note is that public transport (via taxis and buses) only can drop you off at a spot about 5min walk away. Also, they provide disposable towels, not the regular towels given at hotels. If it is an issue, just bring your own towels. Otherwise, this place deserves 5 out of 5 stars.

MMelodycheungI absolutely have to recommend this B&B! The hostess is incredibly warm and friendly. She even upgraded my room for free when I checked in, which was a wonderful surprise. The room was spotlessly clean and tidy, making for a very comfortable stay. The smart home devices throughout the room were convenient and easy to use. The location is truly unbeatable, right next to the West Street Bell Tower. It's super convenient for shopping and dining, yet it's surprisingly quiet, so sleeping at night was undisturbed. The hostess also provided a super detailed and practical travel guide, saving me a lot of planning time. Plus, you can even get coffee in the lobby, which really added to the experience. When I left for the high-speed rail station, the hostess even gave me a ride since it was on her way – so thoughtful and caring! Overall, it was a perfect experience with excellent value for money. I highly recommend staying here if you're visiting the area!

GGuest UserI immediately fell in love with this B&B near the Bell Tower after watching a short video. I booked it right away. The owner contacted me the day before and sent me the location and room information. The B&B is located in the city center, with twin beds measuring 1.5 meters. The bathroom and room were spotless, with smart toilets, and the decor was pleasant. Upon arrival, the owner not only sent me a few days' worth of travel guides but also recommended snacks. The small white taxi is also very convenient for getting to the old town. There are plenty of snack shops and breakfast restaurants on the neighboring streets, including my favorite Mei Chaofeng. I also found a fresh food supermarket. They even gave me a complimentary hairpin making experience. The price was reasonable.

JJay87Wanran is a charming Minsu homestay nestled in a beautifully preserved 100-year-old house, surrounded by a walkable neighborhood filled with heritage shophouses, cozy cafes, local eateries, and even a shopping mall. It’s the perfect balance of old-world charm and modern convenience. This family-run homestay — hosted by a lovely couple and their two children — offers a genuine and welcoming experience. The guest room is a renovated part of the old home: clean, comfortable, and equipped with all the essentials. Beyond the nostalgic architecture, what makes this place truly special is the tea room. It’s a hidden gem filled with rare and high-quality teas sourced from various regions. Guests are warmly invited to sit, sip, and chat — not just about tea, but also about culture, stories, and everyday life. Even as a foreigner with only basic Chinese skills, I felt completely at ease spending time in the tea room, exchanging thoughts with the host. Language wasn’t a barrier at all — tea became our shared language. This was my first time staying in a tea house, and it left me with beautiful memories. If you're looking for something authentic, relaxing, and deeply rooted in local life and tea culture, Wanran is a must.

GGuest UserA very nice boss, who waited for us to pick us up from the beginning, and enthusiastically recommended the ancient city attractions and introduced transportation methods. The city of Quanzhou and the people in Quanzhou are comfortable and considerate. I’ll come back if I have the chance~

ZZeederworldWe had a lovely one night stay Very helpful and friendly hosts who live in the adjoining building Location is perfect. In between West Street and Quanzhou Ancient City. About 20 to 30 mins walk to each direction. The ginger duck dinner (10 mins walk) and taro fritter right at the back street of this mishu (both recommended by the host) were one of the best food throughout our Fujian trip. We appreciated the host allowing us to freeze our food and helped us arrange a driver to send us to Xiamen the next day. It's door to door at RMB70 per pax (if sharing the cab with others). Cheaper than didi + train + didi and less time consuming. The room size is slightly on the smaller side but we don't mind as we were out all day. All the basic amenities needed are provided. Most important is its clean and comfortable. As I booked using non-Chinese no and can't read Chinese, I did not receive notifications from host right after my Trip.com booking . We depended on Baidu map to guess the location after the taxi dropped us at the main road. Be prepared to walk 2 mins into small/back lane and to enter an unlock gate to enter the compound of 2/3 residential building cluster. A bit confusing for us but we managed to locate the minshu after 5 mins. We wish we had more time for Quanzhou. Definitely worth at 2 nights. So much more to explore here.

AAnonymous UserTime flies when you're having fun, and my trip to this thousand-year-old Quanzhou city has come to an end. What I'll remember most is choosing 2208 Inn, which boasts a fantastic location on the busiest street in Quanzhou's city center. The West Gate of the famous Kaiyuan Temple is just across the road from the inn. From my room at the inn, I could open the window and gaze at the beautiful night silhouette of Quanxi Hall on West Street. I could also hear the bustling crowds of West Street from outside my window. Day or night, the ancient city's streets are lined with a dazzling array of local snacks and delicacies – think Mianxian paste, Ginger Duck, Fujianese crispy pork, with famous eateries right next door. If you want a taste, just head downstairs; they're just a few steps away. Xunpu flower-wearing shops are also everywhere. If you want to try wearing the flowers, just go downstairs, and you can instantly transform into a beautiful flower-wearing girl. What brought me the most joy was the genuine conversations I had with the inn staff every time I returned. The front desk's handsome and dedicated customer service representative, the proprietress's beautiful smile, and the cleaning auntie's meticulousness and hard work all exemplify the inn's warm and thoughtful hospitality. Thank you all for giving me such wonderful memories of the ancient city. It makes me recall: in this thousand-year-old city, in this little alley corner, I unexpectedly encountered your vibrant, almost divine, warmth and vitality. It makes me miss the moment the pigeons flew past the Twin Pagodas of Kaiyuan Temple in the morning, the fragrant misty aroma of Tieguanyin tea in an old teahouse in the afternoon, and the golden glow of the sunset over Jinjiang River. Encounters are always brief! I've already made a promise with you – if I ever come to Quanzhou again, I will undoubtedly choose 2208 Inn without hesitation. As the year draws to a close and a new one begins, I wish the inn even greater prosperity and a booming year ahead!

AAnonymous UserRoom was really big, and although it was further than I expected, its still of a walkable distance from the airport. Room was big and had plenty of space! Cleanliness wise was actually pretty alright, EXCEPT the toilet. I think it was mentioned by another reviewer that there is a very strong smell i think coming from the drain. It really hits you in the face whenever you open the toilet door, so im quite affected and reluctant to use the toilet lol. But luckily the toilet and bath are separated, so I think if you close the toilet door its still fine. I just hold my breath when opening the toilet door. Also its still bearable for me since im only there for 1 night (im in quanzhou for a 24 hour layover), but otherwise the smell is really not for long stays, so I would say considering the price I paid (and the proximity to the airport) its still an acceptable stay BUT if you're staying there for longer I would recommend looking for other hotels! (Which is a shame really because I like staying in large rooms normally and i think i dont have high standards for my stays as long as its clean, and this room is pretty spacious)

EEmily YingThis homestay is superb for me and my family member from Malaysia. The location is great and the pin location is accurate is u grab car from Didi. This homestay can grab Didi anytime. The shop Opposite hotel is 老字号马蹄酥&黄衍明口腔科 as later i will put picture for ur reference. Then u follow the signboard go in the alley then can find the homestay. The owner of this homestay is super helpful and friendly. As my luggage damage in airport, owner help me to get a new luggage online and get it just within a day. The homestay even provide us disposable towel ,face towel , tooth brush and tooth paste everyday. And no need worry about shampoo and body shampoo too. Hassle free and can bring less item if u stay in this homestay. The hotel location is great to grab breakfast and supper too. Some within walking distance restaurant I will put in photo. And 小白车u can take from this homestay to many travel attraction just rmb 2. All in all, this homestay is good value for money and i would like say thank you to the owner of this homestay for the pleasant stay during my trip. Definitely we will come back again Quanzhou just want stay in Lanxin courtyard only.
