Quanzhou Jinshui Wenyuan Homestay is located near the historic Tianhou Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site in Quanzhou, and close to Fumei Temple, surrounded by rich Minnan cultural heritage and traditional temple culture. Designed with a modern Chinese courtyard style, the B&B offers elegant and tranquil accommodations featuring Song-style Zen-inspired rooms. Guests can enjoy evening tea gatherings and experience Quanzhou’s tea culture, local traditions, and ancient city charm. With its prime location for exploring historic streets and cultural landmarks, it is an ideal choice for travelers seeking an authentic and relaxing Quanzhou experience.
"The location is in a small alley next to the Tin Hau Temple, very easy to find; navigation is sufficient. Because of its proximity to the temple, we ate the most authentic Si Guo Tang (four-fruit soup) twice during our stay, recommended by locals (right next to the temple). The courtyard is quite spacious, with several areas for tea and conversation. The owner is shy but kept urging us to drink tea, saying he preferred everyone to come out and chat in the courtyard. After dinner, I recommend buying Si Guo Tang from the temple, along with some barbecue and chicken feet, and chatting while stargazing in the courtyard – it's incredibly relaxing! Occasionally, a very friendly tabby cat (the owner said it's a stray) will appear in the courtyard; it has a sweet meow and loves to sunbathe and sleep on the courtyard wall. Sitting in the courtyard at night, you can hear the Christian hymns ”Amazing Grace” from next door; the melodious singing brings peace to the heart.
The only thing to note is that the twin room area is next to a private residential area, and starting around 8 am, there will be some noise from cooking and chatting, which isn't very friendly to those who want to sleep in. Also, you need to shower early, because when I came back in the early morning, the water pressure was very low and there was no hot water left, but the hot water was fine when I woke up in the morning. I don't know if it was because it was too late and the hot water storage was insufficient. Overall, the experience was excellent, and I have already recommended this courtyard to my other friends. I will choose to stay here again next time I come to Quanzhou."
