It’s the third time we came to Yufuin. Previously, we stayed in onsen hotels with meals provided. This time we are staying for 2 months in Japan to experience the local life, and Yufuin was our third stop, where we stayed for 6 nights. The service is top notch. The host responded very quickly whenever I had queries, and very clear instructions for free pick-up were given days before check-in. As we stepped in the house, the air- conditioner had already been turned on there were 3 big bottles of water in the fridge which made us feel so welcome. They collected our trash every day and asked us what we needed. The guesthouse is an independent unit full of beautiful Japanese decorations. It was sparkling clean and thoughtfully furnished with everything you need. A first-aid box was provided. We were given 12 sets of clean towels and toilet amenities, including toothbrushes. We have stayed in different apartments before and have never experienced this. More importantly, the kitchen was well equipped with everything—many cutlery items of different sizes and even wine glasses. There were a hot pot and a frying pan, a toaster, rice cooker, coffee machine, and even a dishwasher. You can't imagine there is even a massage chair! The bathroom was designed like an onsen. You can simply add some onsen powder to enjoy a hot bath. You can easily access different attractions on foot. The location is about a 20-minute walk to the nearby supermarkets, 25 minutes to the main shopping streets, and 30 minutes to the JR station. If you drive, it is even easier. For us, we enjoyed walking and seeing the beautiful scenery, so it was not a problem for us even though we didn’t drive. Every day we walked to the supermarkets and bought fresh produce to cook. We had so much fun making different dishes and hot pot. When we asked for a whetstone, the host quickly gave us theirs, and the next day, they bought us a new one. They even gave us sake as a gift. On the day of check-out, the host drove us to the JR station and helped us store our luggage in the visitors’ centre. Next time when we come to Yufuin, we will definitely stay here again. It’s really great value for money.

Here is a pick-up service if you contact the hotel After the bus tour, I got off near Kinlin Lake. It was a 40 minute walk, so I wanted to go on a flat ground, but it was a car without a walking road. I experienced hell ... After arriving at the dormitory, I met the boss, and he was a grandfather with a year old. I opened the Japanese language app first and explained it. It's different from other hotels If you want to go to a nearby meal or a mart, you can ask the boss for a pick-up service, take you to the mart and wait until you see the market. In the morning, Yufuin Express Guitar was 9 o'clock, so I asked for breakfast and took me at the time I wanted. The hostel was spacious enough to stay for more than 2 people. And the long-awaited private hot spring. Very very satisfied! I enjoyed it twice once after arriving, once before drinking in the evening. If I had time in the morning, I would have had breakfast. I said hello to the boss and said he would come back to rest next time if I came to Yufuin ^^ Yufuin is recommended here if you want to fully heal in the hostel as much as you come to relax with hot springs or if you have a lot of body in the last schedule!

The staff members were all very friendly and welcoming. The hotel overall was very cozy, particularly the onsens. Although all the four onsens were opened for all guests at the hotel, you can use one of them as long as you want because guests are instructed to hang a sign on the onsen to show that it is currently occupied. This is a great way for the guests to enjoy privacy to themselves, although it is opened publicly. Dinner and breakfast was included in the package so we did not have to worry about finding nearby restaurants. The food was delicious here! Would definitely recommend if you enjoy traditional Japanese meals to get the full experience. We had a private barbecue for dinner, and it was truly immaculate! However, there was smoke all over the hotel lobby coming from the barbecue so it would have been better if they kept the windows opened. It was also indoors so it was slightly overwhelming with all the smoke everywhere in the restaurant. But everything else was on point and breakfast was particularly delicious.

It was already 4:30 pm when we entered Yufuin on the first day. The owner had already turned on the air conditioner in our room and provided instructions on how to use the hot springs. He was afraid that we would not be able to visit the attractions before they closed, so he drove us to the fairytale town. Although it was closed in the end, we were familiar with the route. He also helped us check the bus schedule the next day. Thank you!

I was travelling with my elderly mum and we were not driving. The property is like a private house, very good location along the main street. There were restaurants and onsen just beside the property. It was very well equipped with kitchenware and the bathroom got bath tub and also standing shower. Very clean and well maintained.

It's not too far from Wuhuin ~ As I saw in the reviews, he warmly welcomed me as if I came to my grandmother's house and my grandmother is so cute ㅎㅎ It's not cold in the wall, but when there are many leaves, it's more beautiful. First of all, the meal was so delicious ㅎㅎ The rice was really delicious ~ The downside is that there is no toilet in the room. There is a washbasin in the corridor ~~ The bathroom is in the corridor ~ For us only ~ Pros 1 Bathroom only we use ~ (bath tax) Pros 2 delicious meal ~~ Pros 3 Quiet ~ Gozukuri ~~ Japanese Tradition ~~ Tatami ~~

In the ”Zoo” of Yufuyuan, check in at the cashier's desk. The clerk will take you to the room to tell you how to use the equipment, hot springs, etc., and will help you carry your luggage. It’s really the feeling of a fairy tale world, the quiet room is big, and the hot springs are no one. It is also close to Jinlin Lake and is worth a try.

We took bus 36 from Beppu to Yufuin Station and took a taxi to the hotel for 1400 yen. In fact, we should get off at 2 stations in advance and walk closer. There is no convenience store near the hotel, so it is best to buy snacks and sodas in Beppu or buy them in Yufuin. The owner is a very enthusiastic aunt, even if not a lot of English, they are actively communicating with us. The food prepared by the aunt is very fresh and delicious. Because the snowy hot spring eyes were frozen by snow. Auntie paid our family 5,000 yen to soak in the nearby hot springs. Open the window of the room to see the mountain view. If it is summer or January winter, it will definitely be more beautiful. The room heating and hot water are enough. The parking lot next to the hotel has become a paradise for children to play in the snow. Although there is not much snow, it is worth it for children in the south.
