"The environment here is great. Although it's a bit far, they offer shuttle service, so it's not a big issue. However, I was quite concerned about the cleanliness of the hot spring. It seemed that whenever I moved, a lot of black, white, and gray fibrous material would float up from the bottom of the pool. I even saw distinct small white feathers, possibly from birds? I understand that being in the mountains might lead to some influence from plants and animals, but there was clearly a lot settled at the bottom, suggesting it hasn't been thoroughly cleaned for a while. Many of the restaurant staff were from India or Pakistan, and most of the other guests I encountered were foreigners. The price isn't expensive, and the room is large, but the facilities are a bit old. The room's cleanliness was actually decent, it just felt a bit dated."

"Baien is truly the best. The private open-air bath and the large public bath are both excellent. (Note: Be sure to confirm the private open-air bath when booking your ryokan stay.) The ryokan is spacious, so walks around the property are lovely. Both breakfast and dinner (kaiseki) are also superb. However, there's no entertainment nearby, so if your sole purpose is to enjoy the hot springs, you definitely won't regret it. I'd love to visit again in winter."

"Overall, very satisfied! Location: It's about a 7-minute drive from the station, but the hotel offers a shuttle service during afternoon check-in and morning check-out, so you basically don't need to take a taxi. Try to explore the town and buy supplies before entering the hotel, otherwise it might be inconvenient to go out on your own. Environment: The hotel was clean, no stains. The environment outside the room was serene; you could occasionally hear cicadas and frogs. A dragonfly even came to greet me while I was soaking in the hot spring. It felt like being surrounded by nature, very comfortable, but surprisingly, there weren't any mosquitoes! Service: From the moment I boarded the shuttle, I didn't need to carry my luggage. The staff were friendly and smiling throughout, even joking around when explaining how to eat. Excellent service! Hotel Facilities: There doesn't seem to be a public hot spring, but the private hot spring is more than enough! Food: For dinner, I chose sukiyaki. The beef was tender and marbled with fat, but surprisingly, it tasted quite refreshing and didn't get greasy quickly (although it did get greasy towards the end, haha). Breakfast was also quite good; I especially loved the mentaiko with rice. I'll definitely come back next time!"

"Gorinka is quite a distance from Yufuin Station. I did an every morning stroll to the town. It was a very quiet walk that I enjoyed the quaintness. The owner was very friendly and allowed me to check in earlier. The private onsen was fabulous. The privacy and again the quaintness were what I enjoyed most in Yufuin. On my checkout day, it rained quite heavily and owner was so sweet to drive me to the station. Greatly appreciated. Oh! A sake was served complimentary đŸ‘đŸ»đŸ˜‰"

"We checked in on 15 Jan, 2026 and planned to stay at the hotel for a nite. When we arrived the railway station , we walked around for a while and got a taxi outside the railway station to the hotel without paying the fare. Probably the hotel had arranged with the taxi drivers in that area that they will pay the fare directly. The check-in procedure is easy and comfy. 2 staff lead us to our room ć°æš“çƒă€‚It’s a very nice room with 2 private onsen. The spring water is nice and made our skin very smooth. The hotel had arranged enough drinks for us, 3 alcoholic and 3 nonalcoholic. We had our dinner at ard 7pm. The presentation of the good is very good & eye catching. However, the quality of the sashimi was not very fresh. Taste of the tuna was a bit fishy and it’s wet and found bloody water after picked it up from the dish😓. I don’t eat beef and the hotel changed the 5 pcs of wagu to 3pcs of eel which didn’t taste very well. Not sure whether they grill it or not. Also they changed the beef that served with rice to miso and I didn’t think it’s fair enough. The breakfast on the next morning was up to standard. Bread was fresh and hot. Egg and sausage were quite good. Overall, service is good but the standard of dinner made me disappointed as I had informed the hotel at least one week before check-in and I think they have ample of time to adjust the menu for me. I’ve been to some other hotspring hotels with same request of not eating beef. They had changed my menu to chicken, pork or seafood like fish or shrimp and provide the equivalent size of meat for replacement."

"If you're still debating whether to book this place, just go for it! You definitely won't be disappointed!! I initially hesitated quite a bit and read the reviews repeatedly because this inn isn't near the station and the rooms only have toilets, not full bathrooms. But after actually staying here, I'm so glad I booked it. Even though it's at least a 10-minute walk from the station, the path is relatively flat, making it easy to pull a suitcase. And while there's no bathroom in the room, the inn has three private onsen baths. Since there aren't many rooms, you rarely have to wait, and there's no pressure to rush your time in them. Plus, you can check if a bath is occupied via the in-room iPad, which is super convenient. The room itself is incredibly spacious and comfortable, with a tatami area for activities and a Western-style bed for sleeping. Breakfast is semi-buffet, with a delicious Japanese main dish. The only downside is probably the sound insulation isn't the best; you can hear noises from the hallway and the next room. However, after about 9 PM, even families with kids tend to quiet down, so I didn't find it to be a big issue."

2210716****This hotel is similar to a guesthouse in China, run by an elderly couple in their fifties. The woman handles reception and cleaning, while the man is the cook and general helper. Our group of eight had all four rooms to ourselves, so I feel I have a lot to say about it. The largest room in the hotel has a Japanese-style room, but the bath area there is a bit lacking. The other three rooms have semi-open-air baths with floating plates (edamame, sake) in the refrigerator, making it very romantic to eat and drink while soaking in the hot spring. The hot spring water can reach up to 70℃, so you sometimes need to adjust the hot and cold water taps yourself. If you're unsure, you can ask the man at the front desk for help. Overall, it met my expectations. However, it was raining when we arrived, and the middle room, besides the dining room, didn't have a living room. They blocked our group at the door and asked me for 2000 yen – I was speechless! đŸ„Ž

YYy3Fukuoka is hotter than ever this year. After interacting with locals, I realized that although it was my first time to visit Fukuoka, it was easier and easier to get around than I imagined. I knew very early on that I wanted to include the suburbs and Yufuin in my itinerary, and I wanted to stay there for one night. I was debating whether I should soak in hot springs in the summer and find a suitable accommodation for one person, so I found this B&B. It’s true that it’s not close to the station with your luggage, and it’s a bit hard in the summer. You can soak in the outdoor hot springs in the summer, and watch the stars, which are hard to capture on your phone. I went there once in the morning and once in the evening. After putting up the sign, it became a private soup. I like the sound of creaking templates, the exquisite breakfast boxes, and buying small things near the front desk. The boss couple are very hospitable, attentive and thoughtful, and the breakfast is delicious. I read the reviews and said I must order it, and I thought so too! Make sure to buy more snacks for dinner. Many shops on Yufuin Street close one after another at 5 pm local time. Plan your itinerary well. If you want to see more attractions, you can go to the nearby Beppu to see the hot springs together, or just chill in Yufuin. Very happy. When leaving, you can have your luggage delivered to the station. In this way, you can slowly walk to Jinlin Lake in your free time, and then eat slowly all the way back to the station hahahaha. GGuest UserThe staff members were all very friendly and welcoming. The hotel overall was very cozy, particularly the onsens. Although all the four onsens were opened for all guests at the hotel, you can use one of them as long as you want because guests are instructed to hang a sign on the onsen to show that it is currently occupied. This is a great way for the guests to enjoy privacy to themselves, although it is opened publicly. Dinner and breakfast was included in the package so we did not have to worry about finding nearby restaurants. The food was delicious here! Would definitely recommend if you enjoy traditional Japanese meals to get the full experience. We had a private barbecue for dinner, and it was truly immaculate! However, there was smoke all over the hotel lobby coming from the barbecue so it would have been better if they kept the windows opened. It was also indoors so it was slightly overwhelming with all the smoke everywhere in the restaurant. But everything else was on point and breakfast was particularly delicious.

AAnonymous UserWe booked a room with a private entrance and a private onsen for one night. The hotel is quite a distance from the station, about a 25-minute walk uphill. The service was excellent; everything was explained and shown to us, and they spoke English. The onsen was also great, though it was very hot and needed diluting, which wasn't an issue. It had a view of the mountains. A minus for cleanliness, as the ventilation in the onsen was dirty. Also, you can't order breakfast on arrival if you didn't select it when you initially booked. Overall, we really enjoyed everything.
