Romantic Hotels in Yufu

"The hotel staff are mostly Korean, and the owner is also Korean. We booked a triple room on the first floor, which was conveniently close to the outdoor onsen. The room itself was spacious and clean. The onsen was also excellent. We visited on a weekday, and it seemed like there were only two groups of guests, including us. It felt like we had the dining area and the onsen all to ourselves. Aside from briefly seeing them at the front desk, we didn't encounter the other guests at any other time. We had booked a package that included dinner. The dinner was a delightful, multi-course Japanese meal (kaiseki-style), where each dish was introduced and served individually, only after the previous one was finished. Upon departure, a complimentary shuttle service to the station was provided. However, getting there upon arrival was a bit tricky; we had to take a taxi (around 1000 JPY) as it involved an uphill walk, and it was quite hot. Walking would have taken 30-40 minutes. The hotel is a convenient 10-15 minute walk from Kinrin Lake and the 'Fairytale Village.' You could easily visit these attractions in the morning, return, and then check out before departing. If you need to do laundry, there's a coin-operated laundromat a 7-8 minute walk away (as shown in Pic 4). For those who prefer to buy their own breakfast, a convenience store is a 10-minute walk, conveniently located on the way to Kinrin Lake."

"Hotel service facilities: We drove there so we could drive directly to the hotel entrance. The entrance is not big, but there is free parking. In the mountains, the environment is very private and the air is fresh. I came here specifically to experience Japanese-style accommodation and hot springs. There are not many rooms in the whole hotel, and they are very clean. There are public hot springs and private hot springs in the rooms, but there is no place to take a bath in the room, so you need to go to the public hot spring to take a bath. Service: As soon as we arrived at the door of the hotel, two waiters came out to receive us, one to guide and one to help with luggage; we also sat there to check in in the lobby, with wet towels and drinks. We ordered breakfast and dinner, and they were delivered directly to the room at a set time; when we left, there would also be two waiters to greet us. The service is extreme. Food: Very rich and classic Japanese set meals. I don’t eat raw food, so I made arrangements in advance. There are vegetables, fish and seafood, which are very rich. Another point is that it is too close to nature, and occasionally various small animals will greet you 😂"

"Super satisfied! Full of memories! The reception staff are very friendly, courteous and take good care of the children 👍🏻 They also respond to requests quickly and efficiently! Our room is a two-story independent house. It is very spacious, clean and comfortable, and fully equipped. It has a private hot spring and a high degree of privacy. It is very convenient to soak in the hot spring with the children. Dinner and breakfast are provided, and the food quality is very good~ Very attentive! Highly recommended!"

"We checked in on 15 Jan, 2026 and planned to stay at the hotel for a nite. When we arrived the railway station , we walked around for a while and got a taxi outside the railway station to the hotel without paying the fare. Probably the hotel had arranged with the taxi drivers in that area that they will pay the fare directly. The check-in procedure is easy and comfy. 2 staff lead us to our room 小樓球。It’s a very nice room with 2 private onsen. The spring water is nice and made our skin very smooth. The hotel had arranged enough drinks for us, 3 alcoholic and 3 nonalcoholic. We had our dinner at ard 7pm. The presentation of the good is very good & eye catching. However, the quality of the sashimi was not very fresh. Taste of the tuna was a bit fishy and it’s wet and found bloody water after picked it up from the dish😓. I don’t eat beef and the hotel changed the 5 pcs of wagu to 3pcs of eel which didn’t taste very well. Not sure whether they grill it or not. Also they changed the beef that served with rice to miso and I didn’t think it’s fair enough. The breakfast on the next morning was up to standard. Bread was fresh and hot. Egg and sausage were quite good. Overall, service is good but the standard of dinner made me disappointed as I had informed the hotel at least one week before check-in and I think they have ample of time to adjust the menu for me. I’ve been to some other hotspring hotels with same request of not eating beef. They had changed my menu to chicken, pork or seafood like fish or shrimp and provide the equivalent size of meat for replacement."

"The hotel is located right behind JR Yufuin Station, but it takes about an 18-minute walk to get there. If you have a lot of luggage, I'd recommend taking a taxi, which costs around 800 Japanese Yen. It's a very charming Japanese-style guesthouse, and the rooms also come with beds. Check-in is scheduled between 3 PM and 6 PM; if you need to check in outside of these hours, you'll need to make a special request. The check-in was handled by a kind and efficient foreign lady who explained all the rules in English, so communication wasn't an issue. The room was clean, neatly arranged, and well-equipped. The private onsen was incredibly comfortable with just the right water temperature, and the surroundings were beautiful, with a maple tree whose leaves were slowly turning red. The entire hotel has eight private rooms, offering excellent privacy. When checking out, all you need to do is leave the room key on the table, close the door, and you're good to go. I would definitely consider staying here again in the future."

"This is a quintessential Japanese onsen ryokan. We enjoyed a delicious wagyu kaiseki dinner and breakfast in our room, though the dessert was a bit simple. We stayed for two nights and were pleasantly surprised by both meals. The ryokan has four different communal baths (onsen) for men and women, which we made sure to enjoy every morning and evening. Soaking in the open-air bath while gazing at the sky was incredibly relaxing."

"This is our fourth stay here, and we absolutely love the food. The half-board option (dinner and breakfast) is incredibly delicious. Each independent villa comes with three private onsen baths – two outdoors and one indoors. This time, there were even cherry blossoms, which were stunning! The owners are incredibly kind and even took a commemorative photo for us when we checked out. So thoughtful!"
