Great
恵恵里香I stayed here for 4 nights — 2 nights in an 8-bed room and 2 nights in a 4-bed room.
I thought the 4-bed room would be larger since it’s listed as having the same area as the 8-bed room, but actually it was smaller. So, I would recommend booking the 8-bed room instead. One downside is that there’s no luggage room like other dorm-style hotels. We had to keep our luggage inside the room, and the lights were always dim — only small yellow lamps for each bed. I’ve never seen the main light turned on, and I couldn’t even find the switch for it.
The staff can speak English and are generally very nice, except for one female staff member who couldn’t speak English well and was a bit rudeeeee after I checked out.
What I liked the most is that they offer free instant noodles, which was a pleasant surprise.
Anyway, I think the hotel really needs to build a luggage room, because guests currently have to keep their suitcases in the sleeping area — there’s literally no space for them, so I had to leave mine in the hallway.

SSAKUSHOThey store luggage for you, allowing you to leave your suitcases by the front desk before or after check-in. Even if you arrive when no one is at the front desk in the morning, it's fine to leave your bags there.
The common areas are accessible 24 hours a day.
While the TV screen is large, you can't watch YouTube or similar services. The refrigerator with a freezer and the in-room microwave were incredibly helpful. Having a desk and chair in the room made it easy to eat meals inside.
Only face towel-sized towels are provided, but they're thick and absorb water well. There's a mountain of clean towels in the hallway, so after the first day, you can just grab them and replenish your own supply. Tissues, toilet paper, and laundry detergent (pod-type) are also available in the same spot for you to take as needed. There's a laundry basket under the towel table where you can put used towels. If you leave your trash in the hallway, they'll dispose of it for you. Trash bags are also located in the same area as the towels.
The nearest subway station serves three lines, so the underground section is deep and long. In the evenings, there are many food stalls, making it quite lively.

MM508407****The hotel room was well-equipped and very clean. It's only a few minutes' walk from Yeongdeungpo Market subway station. There are two front desk staff members. The slightly stockier guy working the day I checked in was really nice. He patiently used his phone to translate when he saw I didn't understand, and very helpfully resolved any issues. However, the other slimmer front desk guy wasn't good; he was very impatient, so I avoided asking him anything later on. 😂 But overall, it was quite good, and I would definitely stay here again next time I visit Korea.

AanhkimThe dorm room on the first floor has three bunk beds, accommodating up to six guests. It's a mixed dorm. While the room is small, it wasn't an issue since I spent most of my time in the common area when not sleeping. Shampoo is provided in the shared shower rooms. As it's a guesthouse, your experience will likely vary depending on who your fellow guests are. It's about a 10-minute walk from Itaewon Station on Seoul Subway Line 6. Be aware that the route involves either a steep slope or stairs, so it might be challenging for guests with mobility issues.
GGuest User2 nights (I added an extra day, so the room was different)
I stayed an extra night, so the room was different.
About a 15-minute walk from Yeongdeungpo Market Station on Subway Line 5.
The subway is quite deep underground, like the Oedo Line, so you can easily get to the ground level by taking three elevators.
The hotel lady is nice, but she doesn't speak Japanese.
Please note that the button next to the light in the room is for heating only.
There are two remote controls, and the red power button under the gray remote control is for air conditioning.
There was no remote control in the room on the first day, so I pressed the switch on the main unit directly.
The room has a hidden outlet hole behind the bedside desk.
There is a built-in cord and a black USB outlet. The black one worked when I turned on my computer.
There were three bottles of water, slippers (sometimes there are), a thin robe, one bath towel, and three small towels in the room. Toothbrushes, lotions, etc. (I don't know what they are, so I can't use them)
The double room did not have a bathtub, but there was a shower attached to the top and a handheld shower. Check-out was at 12 o'clock, so I left the room early at around 7 o'clock, and when I returned at 10 o'clock, the room had already been cleaned.

GGuest UserI thought Gangman Seven hostel was a very pleasant experience! For the value of the price it’s really unmatched in Seoul. While a bit far from the touristic neighborhood, it’s very close to several subway lines, reasonably clean for the price.
⬇️ Also if you leave the hostel and take a left and walk for 6-7 minutes, you will see this dumpling place pictured below, really incredible and affordable dumplings, I highly recommend. Went back 2 nights
GGuest UserThe room was average. I sprayed a lot of insect repellent. Myeongdong is just downstairs, so transportation is very convenient. The staff was not there when I checked in, so I dragged my luggage upstairs with my child. When I checked out, the staff got up early to help us take our luggage downstairs. Thank you. The TV in the room has Netflix, which my child likes very much. I didn't expect this.
MMary KathrynWe were able to locate the guest house easily using Naver Map. However, our first struggle was how to reach the destination itself.
The guesthouse is located in an uphill area, almost near Namsan Cable Car (600km/20min walk). A great tip we discovered (after struggling of walking uphill for 2 days 😂) was using the escalators/elevators near the Ihoeyeong Memorial Hall. Go straight from there and you’ll find a 7-Eleven convenience store upon crossing the street. Go left then right at the first wide alley way you see, it should be uphill. Keep on walking until you see a signage of mama guest house on your right side.
We booked a day before our arrival so we could immediately check-in in our rooms. A note welcomed us and our keys were found at the reception area. Pls don’t forget to remove your shoes and change into the slippers they provide found in the shoe cabinet at the left side of the entrance.
Our rooms were next to each other, but differ in size. Bathroom was okay, but I hope they’ll fix the sink’s pipe problem in room 104 since it leaks on the floor upon using. I suggest buying shower filters (5,000 Won) since the water in SK is quite harsh. I suggest to test how you’ll adjust the temperature when showering. There were no bidets in our bathrooms.
Always bring your keycard with you whenever you go out. They don’t go into your rooms like hotels would. If you have any requests, just leave a note on their desk (ie. New towels, tissue, etc.) They also don’t have laundry machines. Do not eat inside the rooms, only in the kitchen which is in the basement.
If you feel like your trash bins are getting full, trash bins are found in the lobby and segregate everything according to their waste category. Just think of it as you’re staying on your own room.
Walls are thin, made of light wood materials so I wouldn’t suggest talking nor listening to your phone loudly.
Breakfast menu were cereals with milk, bread and flavored jam, and instant noodles. You can only consume what’s inside the fridge unless there’s a note that a room guest owns it. You can cook and buy your own food, just make sure you clean up after. You can also fill-up your water bottles here.
Going to different areas are easy too since it’s near Myeongdong Station exit 1. If you’re planning to go shopping in Myeongdong, just go straight after exit 1 and you should see E-Mart across the street then cross on the first crosswalk you see. If you want to enter the “main” street, go left until you see the bug HBAF building.
Overall, I think our stay was a good since the staff we get see was very accommodating to our requests. I just hope they’ll fix some of their bathroom leakage.
