"The room itself is pretty good, though it feels a bit dated – reminiscent of luxury hotels from Northeast China in the 90s to early 2000s, but I still really liked it. There's wireless charging by the bed, and the room also has adaptive power outlets with a 220V charging capacity. There's an ice machine on one corner of the elevator landing and a phone booth on the other. Self-service laundry costs 4000 Korean Won and drying is another 4000 Korean Won. You need cash for these, and they don't provide complimentary toiletries, but you can buy them from a vending machine on the first floor."

"This was my first time staying at a hostel, and it was a really great experience. It's super close to the subway station, making it convenient to get anywhere. The location was also very easy to find; I spotted it just a few minutes after exiting the subway. The self-check-in process was seamless with multiple language options, so language wasn't an issue at all. They offer free breakfast on the 3rd floor. Most of my roommates were European. Although there's a rule against using hair dryers at night, when I arrived at midnight, some roommates were still showering and blow-drying their hair. The trash cans were also quite full. However, the overall environment was very clean, and the beds offered a lot of privacy. It's really suitable for a solo trip, and I'd definitely consider staying here again if I visit Seoul in the future."

"I've stayed at this hotel in Kyoto before and wanted to see if the Seoul branch had the same great environment, but there's a noticeable difference. The air conditioning was simply unacceptable; it was so hot! The AC system is clearly outdated and couldn't regulate the temperature. Even with outside temperatures at -5 degrees Celsius, I was sweating in a short-sleeved shirt and couldn't sleep. The breakfast was pretty much the same every day and quite mediocre. It's fine for a day or two if you're in a pinch, but having it every day at the hotel was a bit much for me. ☹️"

DDGwxSecond time at Mercure and still one of the best value hotels around Hongdae. Everything was cozy and convenient. However, we noticed a smell whenever we enter the room. We have read that sewage smell is also a recurring problem here so we hope the hotel can rectify this.

AAnonymous UserI had a wonderful experience at Brooklyn Blues Hotel. First of all, I want to highlight the staff working in the lobby and café. A large part of my positive experience was thanks to their kindness and hospitality. They were always friendly, approachable, and willing to help with anything I needed. They also genuinely enjoyed chatting with guests, which made the atmosphere feel warm and welcoming. A big round of applause to the entire team!
My room was also in excellent condition. Since I was traveling alone, the room size was perfect for me. However, I can imagine it feeling a bit small for two people, especially if you are traveling with large suitcases. That said, the room had everything I needed, including a TV, refrigerator, slippers, bathrobe, complimentary water, air conditioning, and more.
In the morning, guests can choose one of three complimentary breakfast options at the café: a bagel, a ciabatta sandwich, or a muffin. Drinks are not included and need to be purchased separately, but the prices are very reasonable considering the portion sizes.
The location was also very convenient. The hotel is close to Subway Line 1, making it easy to connect to other parts of the city, and there is also a bus stop nearby. In addition, there are several convenience stores within walking distance, which was extremely handy during my stay. There is also a laundromat just a 2-minute walk from the hotel. Another great advantage is that Gwangjang Market is less than a 10-minute walk away.
I would particularly recommend this hotel if you plan to spend most of your time in areas such as Jongno, Myeongdong, or Dongdaemun, as it is conveniently located for those neighborhoods. If you expect to spend a lot of time in Seongsu, Yeouido, or Gangnam, you may want to consider another location unless you don't mind slightly longer travel times.
Overall, I had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend Brooklyn Blues Hotel to anyone visiting Seoul!

GGuest UserHad stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. Location is acceptable with convenient stores (CU, GS25,7-11) nearby. Best is the 10mins walking to wholesale market and streets. Good water pressure in the shower room with standard amenities provided.The only exceptional reason for me coming back to this hotel would be the counter staffs. They are very friendly, putting up a smile and greet you as always, relentless in helping with your inquiries. Kudos to the very good service provided by thecounter staffs 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

AAnonymous UserThe hotel surroundings are nice, and the front desk staff speak basic English. On the first day, I found a midge on the curtains, but otherwise, the cleanliness was acceptable, and there was no drain smell from the bathroom. Disposable slippers were provided, but no toothbrush or toothpaste. Everything in the minibar, except for water, was chargeable.
I booked a hotel in Gangnam because I was attending a concert at KSPO Dome.
Pros: After the concert, it was usually easy to find a seat on the Express Line 9, and I could quickly reach Bongeunsa Station. There aren't many restaurants on the way back to the hotel, but there are several convenience stores.
Cons: The walk from Bongeunsa Station to the hotel is really, really far, and you have to climb a gentle slope before descending! Cheongdam Station is about half the distance, but coming from Olympic Park, you'd need to transfer from Line 5 to Line 7, and Line 5 is usually much more crowded after events.
Additionally, I had extended my stay through Trip.com before check-in, but the front desk initially thought I had only booked one night. After some communication, they found the extension order and processed it. However, on the second night, my room card stopped working and needed to be re-authorized. I hope the platform and the hotel can improve this issue.

GGuest UserThe hotel is very clean and has excellent facilities. They even provide a large refrigerator, washing machine, and a steamer in the room. The staff are friendly and helpful.
We booked a room for three people, and it felt a bit cramped when trying to open three large suitcases but its not a bigdeal for us. There are Convenient store and coffee shop near the hotel.
What’s a bit tricky is the access to the hotel. They mentioned in hotel info that the nearest subway station is Hyohyeon Station(approx 300m), but it’s actually located across the street from the hotel. To cross, you have to walk quite far to an underground passage. you can’t just cross directly in front of the hotel. The nearest station that’s easier to access without crossing far is City Hall Station exit 7, which is about 6-8 minutes walking distances that quiet painfull in a cold weather.
Its more convenient if you’re traveling by bus, as the bus stop just right in front of the hotel. On our last day, my friend discovered a shortcut to cross via the Namdaemun Underground Shopping Center.
Overall, it was a great stay.

GGuest UserThe hotel's location is excellent. Right downstairs, you'll find the airport shuttle bus stop and a subway entrance, making transportation incredibly convenient! There are also plenty of restaurants and convenience stores nearby. You can basically find all the well-known chain stores right downstairs! Plus, the rooms are equipped with smart toilets that have Chinese labeling, making them very easy to use. Although the iPad had a slight issue when we first arrived, the staff were very proactive in helping us resolve it!

LLouis FragiacomoStaff were attentive and friendly and the apartment itself was spacious and well-equipped with modernised kitchen and bathroom facilities. It’s located around a lot of food and coffee options and is walking distance to a number of popular tourist spots markets/malls.
The cleaning staff visited every day and ensured towels were changed and that the bed was remade, making for a very pleasant stay that felt very luxurious and comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

AAnonymous UserI had a really satisfying stay at Hop Inn Seoul Myeongdong! The hotel's location is super convenient – it's close to both the subway station and the Myeongdong shopping area, making it easy to get around for shopping, sightseeing, or exploring the city.
The room was actually bigger than I expected. I had plenty of space to move around even after opening my large suitcase, which was a big plus for a traveler like me. The hotel itself was very clean; the room was meticulously cleaned, and the facilities were modern, making for a comfortable and reassuring stay.
The staff were friendly, and both the check-in and check-out processes were smooth. Next time I'm in Seoul, I'll definitely choose Hop Inn Seoul Myeongdong again and will recommend it to my friends and family!

EEddrenI had a pleasant stay at this hotel during my trip to Seoul. The hotel was nice and clean, and the check-in process was fast and smooth, which made arrival stress-free. Although the room was a bit small, it was still comfortable enough for 3 people.
One of the highlights is the location, there are plenty of food stalls around the hotel, offering authentic local bites without the overwhelming crowds you’d find in Myeongdong. Personally, I found this area much more enjoyable and relaxing.
The metro station is just a 3-minute walk away, making it very convenient to explore the city.
Travel Tip:
From the airport, take the train to Seoul Station (either normal or express), then transfer to the blue line to Chungmuro Station. If you’re carrying luggage, Exit 5 is the best choice since it has an escalator — just walk toward Starbucks. Otherwise, Exit 7 is a quicker option.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel for travelers looking for a clean, convenient, and well-located stay in Seoul.
