3-Star Hotels in Cardiff

It’s lovely hotel parking is £10 for the day which isn’t to bad. And the breakfast was lovely fresh and warm. It’s help yourself kinda of breakfast make it even more enjoyable.

I really enjoyed my stay overall. The location was fantastic—on a beautiful street—and the hotel building itself is stunning. When I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by a very kind Italian gentleman, which gave me a great first impression. My room, though located in a separate area, was clean, modern, and nicely decorated. Everything looked fresh and well thought out. However, I was disappointed to find visible stains on the bed sheets. While I believe they had been washed, the stains hadn’t come out and the sheets were still used, which didn’t match the high standard the rest of the hotel presented. I think they should have replaced them. Another minor inconvenience was the bathroom light, which was automatic and triggered the extractor fan. This meant that even during the night, using the bathroom caused the noisy fan to stay on for a while, which could’ve been avoided with a manual light switch, in my opinion. Despite these issues, the stay was mostly very positive, but I can’t give a full five stars because of the sheets. Hopefully this can be improved for future guests.

Here’s a natural and fluent English version suitable for a hotel review: The room was bigger than I expected and felt spacious with good ventilation. The bed was clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, there was a slight odor in the bathroom, and I hope it can be cleaned more thoroughly next time. Overall, I had a good stay, and I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit.

Location was very good, very easy to find on a quiet main road. Ease of booking was a plus. Check-in was quick and friendly, the room was cosy but clean and extremely comfortable - I had a nap that lasted 5 hours because the bed was so comfortable! Breakfast unfortunately wasn't being served that particular weekend but to be honest I will definitely be coming back regardless as it was such excellent value.

Please note that Travelodge hotels in the UK do not offer luggage storage services. Because we arrived early and our room wasn't ready yet, early check-in was not an option, and the hotel could not hold our bags. We had no choice but to transport our heavy luggage to a nearby third-party storage facility. Aside from this logistical issue, the rest of the amenities were standard and acceptable.

Because it was a little late arrival, the counter was unmanned when I tried to check in. Basically, it seems that it is a system that uses a touch panel to check in by itself, but on the day of the event, the touch panel cannot be used, the counter is unmanned, and after all, it is not possible to check in for about 10 minutes and you have to wait. I did. The room itself wasn't that old, but the towels were used and the replacement method was not clear, so after all, during the 3 nights, I never got a replacement. It feels like there is no safety box and no refrigerator.

Location was excellent. Right in the city centre. Don't be confused though, there are two Travelodges and we went to the wrong one first which was conveniently close to the train station. A short taxi ride took us to the correct one. Reception is unusually on the 3rd floor, but friendly staff. Your pass key will only unlock your floor which also has safety doors. Be careful not to put it near your phone as it desensitised it and it won't unlock anything - like mine, but a visit to the Reception fixed that. Felt very safe there as the automatic doors from street level lock at night, so no one could wander in off the street. A bar and cafe located on same 3rd floor as Reception was convenient for a drink and snack. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Cardiff has a large pedestrian area, so it was easy to walk to major shops, restaurants and pubs (recommend the Owain Glyndwr) and attractions such as Bute Park and Cardiff Castle were easy to walk to. The Christmas markets and Winter Wonderland were also close by and beautiful to view at night. Foreign money exchange was a short walk from hotel at the Queen Street shopping arcade entrance.

It is a good hotel, good size swimming pool & have both steam room and sauna, however, been twice now on weekdays and both times very busy. Mainly self check-ins which loses the personal touch I feel and not too happy charged extra for parking giving the location of the hotel. Great service in the restaurant.

Had an excellent stay at the Holiday Inn Cardiff North M4 Jct 32. The hotel was comfortable, clean and well located, making it a convenient stop for our road trip. The highlight was definitely the amazing breakfast — a great variety of choices and everything was fresh and enjoyable. Another big plus was the free parking, with EV charging facilities available, which was especially convenient for those travelling by electric or hybrid vehicle. Overall, a very pleasant stay and excellent value. Highly recommended, especially for travellers driving through Cardiff or along the M4.

I had asked if I could store my luggage a couple of hours before checking in. I cannot recall getting a confirmation of this, which would have notified me that there would be a charge of £5, which the receptionist informed me of when I arrived. Had I have known I would have made other arrangements and not wasted the journey and been inconvenienced. When I arrived a guest was complaining about how warm the rooms were and that the fans provided due nothing and that it was a possible health threat. I pointed out that there was a note on my booking about air conditioning being out of action or words to that effect but in theory, why is this not pointed out before the booking is made? It seems like you want the money and then expect us to jump though the hoops of trying to get a refund from the hotel and washing your hands of the situation as I found when I rang Trip.com - it should be a human right to have decent ventilation but with the hurdles you set in motion, it might be seen that you rely on people giving in and giving up to getting a refund on those grounds and so I did you a favour and stuck with it, fearing the worse for when I checked in later that evening. It could have been a lot better and it could have been worse. The general toilet and area on floor 2 was disgusting and had no toilet paper and seemed not to have been monitored regularly, when I went to use it after checking out. I’m amazed that there is a higher price tag shown to show the saving  on these rooms, in my estimation the lower price I paid should have been the higher price. The standards were so much better when it was The Big Sleep Hotel. *************
