Great
AAnonymous UserA very beautiful ryokan, old but very well maintained. The decor is so beautiful. From the moment you check in, you will be in good hands of the ryokan, well served with friendliness. Keiseki meals (dinner and breakfast) are served in the room. Food is delicious! And love the private outdoor onsen!! U get to book for 30 minutes per day for the stay. Well worth the price.
OolegA wonderful house near the cable car station and the boat. We lived there with our family and children, it was warm and cozy. The children were happy with the second floor with futons, where they could hide from their parents' eyes😎

GGPAslayerThe ********* lady who was at the counter tried to help us as best as could. I felt the service was decent and I enjoyed my time. Unfortunate that the wind stopped some of the attractions. I feel that the location might not be ideal and the tram stops working after 7 so need to keep that in mind. But you can see the entire valley at night.

GGuest UserThe hotel is right beside Gora train station hence it is very convenient. However the downside is that the trains are noisy in the morning. We were also disturbed by the drilling when the workers did track maintenance at midnight. Though it wasn’t too loud like at the construction site, it may be loud enough to interrupt sleep as we opened the window to let some cold air in. There was only heated air in the room. The room is dated but clean and ok to stay for 1 night. Breakfast buffet had enough variety of Japanese and western food. The hotel reception provided excellent service and advice for options as my plans to take the ropeway was disrupted due to strong winds.

GGuest UserWe got to the hotel in the beautiful location just before 3pm and we got given a little tour of the place and then got shown to our room. The staff are very friendly and do their best to speak English. A lovely lady was in charge of our hospitality throughout our stay and she first showed us that there is a public hot spring and a private hot spring and asked us if we would like to book a time to use the private hot spring, we booked a time as we checked in but then we didn’t use it as we were happy with our private hot spring in the room. We also booked a time for dinner and they arrived at that time
Promptly with A LOT of food. We also got a choice for a staple food and we chose some steak which was high quality and delicious, as well as the lobster (on the menu it said grilled prawn but a lobster is what came and it was delicious). We ordered a few beers and a bottle of wine with room service and it always came quickly and was nice and cold.
The private hot spring is absolutely boiling but it’s a good experience and there’s ice water provided which helps.
Breakfast came at 8.30am and it was also huge! It didn’t come with coffee but I ordered some and that was easy enough.
The lady who served our food explained every dish and how to eat it and she was always extremely friendly and attentive.
Would recommend!

AAnonymous UserWe booked a hot spring hotel on short notice and were very satisfied with it. We arrived early and could not check in until after 3:30 pm, but fortunately we could leave our luggage at the hotel. The staff helped us make the bed when we were having dinner in the evening. There was a rich variety of dinner, but we didn’t really like the side dishes. It would have been better if the side dishes were replaced with sashimi. We even had a surprise dessert after the meal, which made us very happy. The breakfast the next day was also very filling and delicious. The experience is very good and recommended for staying.

GGuest UserA nice hotel that is a little distant from the nearest restaurants, shops and attractions. There’s a shuttle bus to the local railway station, which is useful but it stops at 6:00pm so after that you have to walk. It’s not too far but it is very steep.
Our room was in need of refurbishment, with a stained carpet and tired fittings. That said it had everything we needed.
The onsen was a welcome facility which was very enjoyable. The ‘free-flow’ beverages from 18:00-20:00 was also a nice touch but we weren’t made aware of it and it would have passed us by if we hadn’t heard it being offered to other guests.
Dinner was very nice but a little odd, in the sense that there was no choice and was French cuisine; it was also quite expensive. Breakfast was average with undercooked bacon, good eggs, a nice yoghurt/compote combination but no preserves to have with the (one small) croissant. Service was very good.

GGuest UserSuch a great find! Calming ryokan in a peaceful part of the mountain. Staff were all super friendly and accommodating of us as tourists who didn’t speak Japanese. Every meal was delicious and the staff took time to tell us what each little dish was and even gave us some extra mini dishes to help us try different things. They were all delicious! The onsens were also very relaxing and had everything you could need. My boyfriend and I booked the private onsen our last night and looking out over the mountain at night when it was raining was a great experience. We got the Japanese style room and it was very spacious and the tatami floors were very comfortable. View over the mountains was also terrific. The ryokan shuttle took us to the nearest two train stations (Gora or Sounzan) in the morning when we requested and picked us up at the end of the day so it was very convenient getting to the ryokan even without a car. Highly recommend this stay!!

GGuest UserIt's a very clean hotel. Dinner and breakfast are delicious. It's about 20-30 minutes' walk from the train station. There seems to be a Japanese-style tomb across the street from the hotel, but the windows in the hotel rooms are covered up, so it's not too scary. Overall the price is reasonable. The hot springs are average and not outstanding. The restaurant food and coffee are great. The room was very clean!

11277****The main courtyard of this hotel is very upscale and only accommodates top-notch guests who can afford a butler. We stayed in the old building in the hotel's side courtyard, the one with the big words ”Fairyland” hanging on it. The room was large, clean and quiet. But there is no elevator, so you have to climb four floors. Customers with large suitcases should order with caution.
