Amazing
GGuest UserWe stayed as a family of four (two younger children). The location was very good for us, because the hotel was close to the science museum and Chinatown, which was handy because of most places being closed on Christmas. Additionally, the relevant bus lines and subway station was pretty close by, so travelling without a car or relying on Uber was simple. The swimming pool, hot tub, and sauna were good, except the pool only had one depth (1.15 meters). So little kids who aren't proficient swimmers would need an adult to be with them in the pool. Our only real gripe was that there were no toiletries (bar soap, lotion, etc.) in the bathroom when we first arrived, but that was quickly remedied with a call to the front desk. Overall, a decent value for the convenient location and the modern room.
GGuest UserI love this hotel nestled in the heart of Old Montréal and Old Port. I had a great room with a wonderful corner view of Old Montréal, it’s rooftops, the Grande Roue and the little cafes and boutiques below. Room is very comfortable. I love the long modern working desk, the comfy lounge chair, plush bedding and above all the spa multi jet shower… Because of pandemic restrictions most of the amenities of the hotel were not accessible. The hotel has such a nice lounge and bar area but I couldn’t go there. The gym was also off limits. There is an outdoor courtyard that was advertised as open even in the winter with fire pits but it wasn’t accessible during my stay.
My only complaint would be that my room was drafty but I also stayed on one of the coldest weekends of the year and I could adjust the heat in the room. I asked for a throw blanket to cuddle in while reading in the lounge chair. They brought me the cuddliest faux fur blanket, I was almost thankful for the draft. Can’t wait for my next opportunity to stay here.
In my opinion, this hotel is more geared towards adults (solo/business/couples/adult getaways) rather than families with young children. It has a high-end, modern, chic vibe. However, I’m quite sure they would accommodate children too.
Photos don’t do the view justice. They were taken during a snow storm with poor visibility. Under normal conditions, was really nice and at night, so beautiful with all the lights and illuminated Grande Roue.
RRossThe room was ok, clean and modern. The window views were too close to the windows of neighboring buildings so we sadly had to keep the curtains closed for privacy. The location was convenient with plenty of restaurants, parks and shops within walking distance, and a short uber ride from old Montreal. The biggest problem is a hidden fee, they inflate the tax value and call it ”VAT Tax” which ends up being around 3-4x the normal tax amount, and it turns out that was just how they hide a ”Property Fee” while making their rates look lower and more competitive during the booking process, I don't think it's legal to call something tax when it's not being passed to the government! They want to be listed like a hotel and with deceptively lower rates, when it seems they are an AirBNB and need to hide a cleaning fee as Tax.
GGuest UserVery happy with my stay at this hotel. Would highly recommend and will come back to stay.
Excellent location- conveniently located central downtown and walking distance to a lot of places. Within 10min walk to Crew Cafe, Complexe Desjardins, Underground City, Eatons, Notre Dame Basilica and many great restaurants such as Monarque.
Amenities- great! The gym had decent equipment, there is an outdoor heated pool and a sauna. Lobby has a cafe and there is a restaurant and bar in building as well.
Valet parking (in and out privilege) $48/night or self parking $35/night in same building. And a grocery store “Avril” just outside the hotel.
Room- very clean and spacious! Modern design, includes slippers, very comfortable mattress with foam pillows. There is a mini bar fridge, electric kettle and a coffee machine. There is also a water dispenser in the hallway to refill your water bottles.
GGuest UserThe room was clean and the location was excellent. I will choose this hotel next time. The front desk and downstairs security service were very good and very professional. I was impressed.
JjiahuhuUnder renovation, there is shuttle bus shuttle, good choice for transfer. There is nothing to see in the surroundings, and now there is nothing visible at minus 20 degrees except the snowdrift. I originally planned to make a snowman, but I didn't feel my hands in the snow.
GGuest UserKarim was super helpful and attentive to our needs as soon as we walked if I ever come to Montreal again I’d like to come stay there again since they have such great prices too
KKseniia KoshevaiaWe stayed at Hotel Monville and wanted to share my thoughts. The location is undeniably great, offering convenient access to historical places. However, I found that the hotel didn't quite live up to the expectations set by its photos.
While the pictures showcased a sleek and modern interior, the reality fell a bit short. The overall ambiance and amenities didn't match the level of sophistication depicted in the promotional images. It's important for future guests to be aware that the visual representation may differ from the actual experience.
Despite this, the location's convenience remains a strong point, and if that's a top priority for you, Hotel Monville might still be a suitable choice. Just be prepared for a slightly different atmosphere than what the photos may suggest.

Good
GGuest UserThe hotel locates opposite to a small garden with quiet neighbourhood. Yet it's close to bus stops and eateries. The closest supermarket is 10 minutes walk away, while the Metro Station Peel is 30 minutes away by foot.
The room was spacious, equipped with sufficient kitchenettes, a sofa, dinning table with chairs, and washing machine.
However one should be reminded only to book the room with garden view. Otherwise you would has to pull the curtain down always in order to keep your privacy from the next building.
