5-Star Hotels in Yancheng

I was for the second tine în this hotel and I spent 4 weeks It was a great experience, there is free gym and laundry, whitch is very important if you will spend a long time in hotel room.

The hotel service was so-so. The front desk staff were rather inflexible. After staying two nights, my key card stopped working on the second day, so I had to go back to the front desk to get it renewed. The door lock also broke that night, thankfully it was fixed in time, but it was still a bit of a hassle. There weren't many restaurants nearby, so I ate at all three hotel restaurants. I'm not picky, but the food was all pretty good, and the portions were huge – three people couldn't finish four dishes! The hotel pool was only 1.5 meters deep, not suitable for those who aren't good swimmers. The staff recommended renting a swim ring for 20 yuan. The pool wasn't crowded, so the experience was okay. Overall, in terms of service, the Mercure next door was better. Because the food was served late, they even gave my child a complimentary steamed egg. I didn't mind the egg, but it made me feel respected!

The front desk clerk, Xiao Sun, was very enthusiastic and sorted out my express delivery for me to pick up when I checked in. It was truly a five-star service that made me feel the warmth of Yancheng. The room is very large, with classic decoration but it is a smart room. It has Xiaodu, a smart toilet, a TV with screen projection, a bathtub and a disposable bathtub cover, which is very thoughtful. The breakfast is very rich, the lotus root tea is delicious, the lotus root powder dumplings are delicious, and the fish soup noodles are a Yancheng specialty that you must try!

The environment is great, super close to Holland Flower Sea, within walking distance, and you can see flowers from the window. The family room is also very spacious, and the hotel facilities are top-notch. The gym has a lot of equipment, as well as changing rooms and shower rooms, and you can watch TV while running. The only minor drawback is the Chinese restaurant. During the Qingming Festival holiday, they only recommend the buffet for dinner. On our first night, we arrived at the restaurant at 7 PM and saw a roll-up banner advertising Chinese set meals. We wanted to order, but the young lady at the restaurant reception advised against it, saying it would take a long time and urged us to have the buffet. Since the child also wanted to try it, we did. To our surprise, most of the food was cold, and my elderly family member suffered from an upset stomach. Only the noodle station had hot food. On the second night, I wanted to order room service by calling the restaurant, but again, a staff member told me not to, insisting we have the buffet. By this point, I was quite annoyed. The hotel clearly offers various options, so why do they always make excuses and use long waiting times as a reason? This time, I insisted on ordering a set meal, and it was delivered relatively quickly. The food quality was very good and satisfying. Aside from being somewhat dissatisfied with the service at the Chinese restaurant's front desk, all other staff members were very good and courteous. I hope the Chinese restaurant manager provides better training. I believe our next stay will be a pleasant surprise.

This wasn’t my first time staying in Mingcheng Jinjiang hotel but I must say this time they reminded me how great they are.. I contacted them in advance asking them if they will provide temporary residence registration form. They were super professional especially Sandy Li, who made sure the form was ready. Check-in was smooth and quick, car parking was super convenient. Hotel room was clean and spacious. I asked for a bottle of water, they sent 3 bottles. They were amazing throughout my stay there. It’s a pity I missed breakfast both days as I woke up late hahaha.. but overall an amazing experience.. will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Yancheng.

Staying in the forest park was very convenient, with a private shuttle service. The room was spacious, the bedding was comfortable, and the TV could be projected. The toiletries smelled nice, the view was stunning, and the service was excellent. There were a few small insects in the room, but that's understandable given it's in the forest. The breakfast selection was plentiful; the fresh fish noodles were quite good, and the meat buns, shumai, and fruit were all of good quality. We had a very enjoyable meal. There were three of us, and they proactively gave us a breakfast voucher.

The room is quite spacious and the view outside the window is also very good. It's just that the furniture and appliances are quite old. But the hygiene is quite clean. The service was acceptable. One point was deducted because when we checked in, the front desk clerk did not tell us exactly where the elevator was for guest room check-in. As a result, I led two elderly people in their 80s with large and small bags. Xingli walked around in the lobby on the first floor. Moreover, in such a big hotel, there is no staff to deliver luggage in line, which is very inconvenient. Also, the breakfast in the hotel is not worth the 98 yuan at all. The milk is made from milk powder, and snacks such as small cakes are made from cheap plant-based cream. I probably won’t choose breakfast here again next time.

We checked in on September 5, 2026, at 6:03 PM. The three front desk staff members greeted us with genuine smiles, which was incredibly welcoming for an introverted '80s-born auntie like me. Upon entering the room, the elegant Chinese-style decor immediately caught my eye. The bathroom's cleanliness standards perfectly met my expectations: it was spotless (no sewer odors, no hair in the corners, and the entire bathtub felt silky smooth to the touch – I wouldn't even need a disposable liner from the hotel). The staff at the all-day dining restaurant were all proactive in helping us with our requests. (We arrived quite late for dinner on the day we checked in, not long before the chefs were due to finish, but we wanted to enjoy the hot springs and still have dinner. The staff patiently helped us place our order and packed the food so we could take it back to our room after our hot spring soak). The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of food, truly up to star-hotel standards – something frequent travelers will understand. Finally, a big thank you to our butler, Jiajia, for making this a very pleasant stay!

My 2nd time in Dongtai, 1st time in Leida hotel. It looked good on the website. 1st impressions were good. Even though the staff spoke very limited English they checked me in efficiently (I do speak some Chinese but if you don't it's okay). The rooms are a good size and the big picture windows give great views over the public lake/park. the only downside was the faint aroma of stale cigarette smoke in the room but this is China and unfortunately to be expected. The downside was the breakfast was very Chinese and though I love the cuisine here I'm not a lover of Chinese breakfast. It would have been better if the cook knew how to make fried eggs in different styles than just solid yokes and they invested in a good coffee machine. The coffee was in a flask....and was white....I didn't even try the bit I poured into a cup. The positive is Wuyue Plaza is a 10 minute stroll and has a Starbucks and MacDonalds! I had a look at the gym and pool. Gym was 10 yuan, pool was 40. Both looked okay. The hotel grounds needed a bit of a tidy up but were okay. I couldn't find direct access into the lake/park area but then I was only there 2 nights. The big convenience was Wuyue Plaza. The top floor was restaurants. A decent selection. Towards the back on the outside walking street was a decent little bar (Black Vine). Nice manager, 8 craft beer taps, lots of bottled beer. Yes, I'd stay here again as it suited my purpose.
