"Stayed in an Executive Room at the old-school Yancheng Marriott. The room itself was clean and tidy, and the service was attentive, but the facilities are definitely dated and old-fashioned. No smart toilets, which feels a bit behind the times. The Marriott Lounge doesn't offer afternoon tea, and the Happy Hour buffet food was very, very poor – completely inconsistent with a 5-diamond executive lounge. The breakfast, advertised at 168 RMB/person, seems appealing to guests, but the reality is far from it. Even 4-diamond hotels with 68-78 RMB breakfasts are twice as good. Don't be fooled by their inflated dining prices."

"This hotel's location is great for self-driving, right next to Dongdaemun. I highly recommend Dongdaemun Kids Cafe, it's a lot of fun, not too crowded, and the staff are friendly. The hotel always smells lovely, and I slept very comfortably. The only downside is the lack of a mini-bar; it seems more like a business hotel than one designed for families. On a positive note, breakfast for children under 1.3 meters is half price, and at just 38 yuan, it's an amazing deal. The breakfast spread is fantastic, with noodles, wontons, and pineapple – really impressive, even better than the Westin in Huangdao! The staff were all wonderful too!"

"The breakfast experience wasn't great. One server asked for my room number, which was fine, but then another server followed me while I was getting food to ask again if I'd swiped my room card. There are a lot of Koreans in Yancheng, and the staff seemed to treat them with much more courtesy, while ordinary guests like me received pretty mediocre service – not bad, but certainly not excellent. Overall, the hotel facilities were decent, but the staff's attitude really detracted from the stay."
