Hotels in Cangshan Scenic Area, Dali City

This is my first handwritten review because this establishment is truly well-run and deserves it. Before my trip to Dali, I spent a long time choosing a hotel. I practically looked through every hotel in Caicun Ancient Town, saved a few, and ultimately picked this one. I was quite wary because of a previous experience where the hotel environment didn't match the pictures, so I chose this place with a 'let's try it out' mentality. I booked for two days and then extended for another. As someone who's a bit of a clean freak, I found the hotel to be exceptionally clean, truly spotless. There's an older gentleman and an older lady who run the place. The lady was especially kind. On my first night, I came back to the hotel without buying any fruit, and she shared her own oranges and bananas with me. The second day, we also came back quite late, and she heard us eating in the lobby and came to turn on the lights for us. They were both incredibly nice to us, always greeting us with a smile when we returned, making it feel just like coming home. Of course, the hotel's environment is also wonderfully charming, with a lovely little courtyard. The gentleman even helped us carry our luggage upstairs when we weren't around. The facilities are comprehensive, parking is convenient, and getting a taxi is easy. There are electric scooter rentals nearby, and shared electric scooters right outside the hotel entrance. I highly recommend this hotel; it left me with such a beautiful memory. If I ever come to Dali again, I would definitely choose this place. I wish the owners good fortune year-round and increasing prosperity every day. We had a very smooth experience from arrival to departure. The hotel organised a transfer from Dali Railway Station, which worked perfectly. Upon arrival, we were immediately helped with our luggage. Check-in was straightforward and worked without any issues for foreign guests. Basic English is spoken, which is fully sufficient for communication. The hotel itself is small and built in a beautiful traditional Chinese style, with a lot of wood and a charming inner courtyard with warm lighting in the evening. The rooms are duplex-style: a cosy living room downstairs and a rustic bedroom upstairs, plus a balcony with a lovely view of the surrounding mountain peaks. The design feels authentic and calm. Bathrooms are slightly lower in height, so guests above 1.80m might find them a bit tight. Cleanliness throughout the property is excellent. Despite the traditional architecture, all modern comforts are available: fast and stable internet, strong heating in both living room and bedroom (important in winter), and a generally very comfortable atmosphere. The location is near the Three Pagodas, just outside the main tourist development zone. You can walk to the first restaurants within minutes, and there is even a local restaurant directly next to the hotel. The Three Pagodas are within very easy walking distance, and from there you can conveniently use DiDi or rental scooters to reach other sights around Dali. Breakfast can be taken either in a small dining room or delivered to the room. It is local Chinese style, adapted to the region, very tasty and served with a smile. Great coffee is available. Checkout was simple, and the hotel arranged our return transfer as well. We even received a small souvenir gift per room, which was a very thoughtful touch. Overall, this hotel is a real highlight in Dali. It feels like stepping back in time, but without sacrificing modern comfort. It is ideal both for exploring the main attractions and for simply relaxing in a quiet, peaceful setting away from the busier city areas.

The room is spacious and bright with a view of Erhai Lake, and right outside is a popular Canger Road photo spot. It's backed by Cangshan Mountain and overlooks Erhai Lake, making it quite convenient to get to the Ancient City and other nearby attractions. The breakfast was also quite varied, and the staff were all very warm and accommodating. I've stayed at Mercure hotels abroad before, but this was my first time in China, and I was pleasantly surprised to find it's part of the HUAZHU Group – felt a bit like home!

This has to be the best hotel experience of this trip. The hotel is located right at the entrance of a high-end villa complex, with its own private courtyard featuring beautiful landscaping. The room was clean and tidy, and the loft design was a huge hit with the kids. The staff were enthusiastic and professional, and even the breakfast restaurant was excellent. The absolute highlight was the huge viewing balcony directly facing Cangshan Mountain. I've stayed in many hotels across the country, but the quality of this hotel's facilities and service, combined with the stunning Cangshan cloud sea views, easily puts it in my top three. It's a shame I don't get to visit Dali often, otherwise I'd definitely stay here many more times.

The hotel is spotless and incredibly quiet and comfortable. The service was absolutely outstanding! Every staff member was dedicated and super friendly to guests. My child experienced altitude sickness for the first time in Yunnan, and the hotel immediately provided oxygen and even offered to accompany us to the doctor. The breakfast was delicious, and room service was very efficient. I highly, highly recommend this place. Before we left, they even gave a small gift to my child. Seriously, I can't recommend this quality hotel enough; it's truly trustworthy.

The apartment is located at the very back of the complex, making it exceptionally quiet. It's new, clean, and tidy, with a bathroom and smart toilet in every room. The tea room is fully equipped, and the small garden is perfect for sunbathing. Every room gets plenty of sunlight, making it very comfortable. The only downside is that I couldn't rent it during the Spring Festival, so I have to extend my stay after the holiday. P.S. The property manager is incredibly reliable; he responds promptly to any questions and is a handsome and capable young man!

Just got back from Dali and stayed here for a few nights – it was genuinely great! Here's my honest review. The hotel has a Bai-style courtyard aesthetic, with white walls, upturned eaves, and a courtyard full of flowers and plants. The environment is quiet and peaceful, and the greenery is meticulously maintained. Sitting in the courtyard is incredibly therapeutic. The location is really convenient. Just a short walk outside leads to the popular '网红公路' (influencer highway). It's a 10-minute drive to Dali Ancient City, and about 20 minutes to the Three Pagodas and Cangshan Mountain. It's also right next to Dali University, so there are tons of snack shops around, and plenty of options for takeout. The amenities are comprehensive, including a swimming pool and a gym. For those driving, there's a free underground parking garage. The breakfast buffet offers both Chinese and Western options, and the taste is decent. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful; they even gave us a free room upgrade. They were also very responsive when we asked for directions or needed anything. I'll definitely choose this place again on my next trip to Dali.

The service was absolutely amazing! The staff, especially a lovely lady, waited up for us until midnight to check us in and even helped with our luggage. The service, atmosphere, and overall environment are fantastic – perfect for taking photos. The morning sunlight was incredible for pictures, and we got to witness the beautiful sunrise over the snow-capped mountains and the morning mist.

I had an absolutely satisfying stay at Hilton Dali Resort & Spa and highly recommend this property. Perched halfway up Cangshan Mountain, the hotel is conveniently situated near Jizhao Nunnery for Cangshan hiking trips, and Dali Ancient Town is a short affordable Didi ride away with abundant available cars, making transportation effortless. Our high-floor room offered stunning panoramic views of Erhai Lake from the private balcony. The room is exceptionally spacious with complete amenities; the bathroom is neatly designed with wet-dry separation. The daily breakfast buffet features an extensive selection of dishes covering diverse tastes. Special praise goes to lobby manager Herman. We encountered a small friction during pre-arrival communication, which was properly resolved thanks to Herman’s coordination. He also helped secure a complimentary room upgrade for us in advance. Throughout our stay, Herman and Beata consistently provided attentive help: collecting our takeout, answering all travel questions patiently, and he even took the initiative to apply for a late check-out for us. His thoughtful and efficient service greatly improved our whole trip. With superb location, wonderful facilities and warm personalised service, it was a flawless hotel experience, and I will definitely book here again on my next visit to Dali.

I love this hotel so much. The hotel view is very great and the staff is very helping and friendly. Definitely will repeat. For the toilet very muslim friendly cause it has a bidet near the watercloset. It also serves free tea and orange. Very recommended.
