We had a wonderful stay, the hotel owner is a kind granny who upgraded our room to one with a beautiful view of the paddy fields outside which is just a right at the door step of the hotel. The lady at the counter was very warm and friendly as well, she gave us many recommendations on food and activities to do around the area. The room was very clean and well equipped, the 米线 cooked by granny for breakfast was delicious, she even offered to top up extra portions if we were not full. We felt very well taken care of 🥰

Years ago, when I first visited Dali, I heard the story of Mr. Linden and this old mansion and always dreamed of staying here to experience it firsthand. This time, I finally fulfilled that wish, and I was even lucky enough to meet Mr. Linden in the courtyard! When he learned we were from Nanjing, he happily told us he had studied at the中美文化交流中心 (Sino-American Culture Exchange Center) at Nanjing University in '87 and '88, and had many fond memories of Nanjing. This instantly made us marvel at the wonders of fate – Mr. Linden's timeless encounter with this old mansion, and our own timeless encounter with Mr. Linden and this mansion. So, this isn't just a house or a hotel; it's a spiritual home, a place of shared understanding for Mr. Linden and his guests, our collective beautiful home! The 'Old Mansion Exploration' and 'Market Stroll' activities were excellent, and our guide was wonderful! I regret missing out on the afternoon tea, but the restaurant's dishes were delicious, and the breakfast's Ersi noodles and beef with rice were also fantastic!

This little guesthouse is more than 500 years old. It has personality and history. As such, its wooden structure creaks and has poor sound proofing. The guests are thus reminded to keep noise to a minimum. We visited during the end of the year and the lady staff kindly upgraded us to a larger room. Much appreciated. The lack of other guests meant we had the entire place to ourselves. The breakfast and afternoon tea are excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed the quiet nights and the chance to stay in an old wooden house. Our compliments to all the attentive lady staff that looked after us during our stay.

This was my second stay at this guesthouse during my trip to Dali, and it completely exceeded my expectations – a five-star recommendation! The guesthouse is elegant and clean, with a stylish design. The common areas are comfortable and photogenic, making it a very relaxing place to stay. The rooms are bright, the bedding is soft, and the soundproofing is good, ensuring a peaceful stay. The owners are incredibly warm and welcoming. They promptly helped resolve any issues and patiently recommended local activities and restaurants, treating me like a friend. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. Overall, a perfect experience! The cleanliness, service, and atmosphere were impeccable. Staying here in Dali is definitely a safe bet. I've already recommended it to friends and will stay here again next time!

This booking was a truly pleasant surprise! The hotel looks even better and cleaner in real life than in the pictures. The hotel is actually the former property of the 'Dong' family, one of Xizhou's four great merchant families during the Qing Dynasty. It's a typical Bai ethnic 'three-houses-and-a-screen-wall' style building, elegant yet secluded from the bustle. Just a few steps outside, you're greeted by rice fields. Inside the courtyard, every corner is a delight, with each floor thoughtfully arranged. Each room has a slightly different layout, and every floor features a common area like a tea room or calligraphy room, offering a sense of discovery – a truly delightful surprise. On the day we arrived, the butler picked us up from our drop-off point in an electric tricycle, leading us down an unassuming alley. I never expected to fall in love the moment I stepped into the hotel's courtyard, enchanted by its rustic elegance. It felt like striking gold! What's even more impressive is how clean the environment is. You can tell that the corridors, courtyard, and even the tableware are meticulously cleaned and maintained. I absolutely adored their afternoon tea; the pastries were delicious, and you could get free refills. Both afternoons, after exploring, we couldn't wait to return to the hotel and have the butler bring us afternoon tea. The butlers were all local, incredibly hospitable, and their genuine warmth was palpable. Since we visited during the off-season, they even upgraded our room. Our stay was incredibly comfortable, and I was quite sad to check out. While the price isn't exactly cheap, the overall experience certainly justified the cost. It's a wonderful revitalization of Bai ethnic architecture, truly blending 'culture' and 'travel.' I hope they maintain this quality so more travelers can experience this thoughtful hotel.

The Vienna is a great choice. You are adjacent to the agricultural areas and within easy walk to the old town market streets. The rooms are clean and the bed and showers are great. Breakfast has everything that I (a Westerner) wanted. This is a rural area of China, so don't expect a traditional Western breakfast. One good thing about the location is that your driver can come right up to the entrance of the hotel; you are not located in an alley in the old town. Perhaps I'm spoiled, but I wanted the breakfast area to be a bit warmer. Mornings are chilly. The bowls and plates are cold to start. There are two sets of modern laundry washers/dryers, but the gym is not much, just a treadmill and little bicycle.

Extremely satisfied with my stay! The Jinxia Hotel truly has a beautiful environment, offering a peaceful and comfortable feeling. A special thanks to the owner who thoughtfully upgraded us to a fantastic room for free, which made our trip even more perfect. Plus, parking was very convenient, which was a huge relief for us as we were driving. Highly recommended!

Summary: A very satisfying trip. This hotel is located near the Erhai Lake Greenway, offering beautiful scenery and a peaceful environment with fewer tourists. Parking is convenient, about 200 meters away. The greenway is perfect for cycling; you can reach the 'Most Beautiful Kilometer of Erhai' in about ten kilometers. Xizhou Ancient Town is also just a 2-kilometer bike ride away. Due to certain circumstances during our stay, the owner upgraded us to a courtyard room on the first floor of Building B. The room's amenities were excellent, and we even got to see the sunrise in the morning. Finally, the breakfast and afternoon tea, although not extensive in variety, were exquisite. Highly recommended.

This guesthouse is a beautiful Bai traditional architecture house. I love the open courtyard with the many pots of plants and flowers. It is very peaceful and quiet sitting down to rest in this courtyard. The pillars and doors are all made of beautiful wood and the carvings on the doors and walls are masterpieces! The old lady boss tells me the house is 100 years old - what a long history but it looks new and good, must have been renovated not long ago. The room is similarly decorated with a beautifully carved door, and is clean and comfortable with a good hot shower. The lady boss gave me some dried apple fruit that she preserved - they were very delicious! This is one of the best places I have stayed at in Yunnan, highly recommended

✨ An unexpectedly great stay! The location was a huge plus, just a 5-minute walk to the subway station, with plenty of restaurants and convenience stores nearby, making getting around super easy. The room was spotlessly clean down to every detail, the bedding was soft and skin-friendly, and the soundproofing was excellent—I had a wonderful night's sleep. The owner was incredibly warm and efficient, checking me in super fast and even proactively recommending some local hidden gems. Their thoughtfulness was top-notch. The facilities were new and complete, with high-speed WiFi, plenty of charging ports, and a dry/wet separated bathroom all available. The value for money was amazing, I'll definitely choose this place again next time!
