Wilderness Hotel Inari & Igloos
"The room is not big, and because of the shape, you have to bend down in some places, but the view of the hotel is so beautiful. The lake should be very beautiful in summer. The buffet dinner and breakfast are also very rich. It is the best place to stay in this trip. The best dining in Finnish hotels"
Giellajohka
"The hotel is very good, but you have to buy another 10 euros for sheets and towels. You can bring your own free WiFi. It’s super bad. It’s the same as no one. ⋯⋯ There are frozen pizzas that can be heated and eaten, but the supermarkets are cheaper. 😆"
Northern Lights Village Saariselkä
"This was our first trip to Finland and our first time staying in a glass igloo, and overall, it was a wonderful experience. The only inconvenience was that we couldn't drive directly to our room; all cars had to be parked in a central lot. If you have a lot of luggage, be prepared for a bit of a trek as you'll have to pull it all the way to your room. If you have too much luggage and your room is far, the front desk does offer sleds to help you push it along. 😂 But it's understandable, as there are many people walking around the property, and with all the glass igloos, cars driving around would definitely compromise privacy and create light pollution. Our room type didn't look very big, but it actually had a separate sofa area for relaxing, and there was plenty of space on both sides of the bed. We were able to open up three large suitcases with room to spare. Most importantly, there were many power outlets in the room, which was incredibly convenient. The food provided was also quite good, with very fresh vegetables. We had satisfying dinners and breakfasts, and there were many choices for tea, coffee, and desserts. For those who enjoy alcohol, you can purchase it at the bar at your own expense. The overall service was excellent. The hotel offers many activities for an additional cost, so you can easily fill your days and then rest up to chase the Northern Lights at night. The hotel also provides a free Aurora borealis notification app (which usually costs money) that was very accurate. Basically, as soon as we received a notification, we could get ready and see the Northern Lights. Whether striking various poses in our room or walking around the hotel grounds, we saw beautiful auroras. This trip to Finland, staying in the glass igloo, truly made our dreams come true and completed our journey."
Aurora Village Ivalo
"Good hotel ❤️"
Gáldu Hotel & Spa
"We are from the United States and traveling across Finland in Summer of 26. We wanted to experience Lapland and were defaulting to Rovaniemi but the touristy spin on every hotel and experience was a turn off and thankfully we found Ivalo, and GALDU ! I don’t leave reviews but I had to do it ! I was a bit hesitant to book at Galdu given that it was a brand new hotel and not part of any chain. The reviews were minimum but we bit the bullet based on Gemma Bowes’s and T& L review. In addition it being a Small Luxury Hotel property really helped and it was the best decision of our trip. I will let the travel journalists do a root canal on the property but here is what a half baked global traveler experienced and enjoyed. Location : Galdu is in the middle of nowhere but accessible from everywhere. There is a direct Finnair flight from Helsinki to IVL and the big towns are a few miles away. Fun fact we drove to the Finnish Russian border via a gorgeous road and the round trip with stops was about 3 hrs !! The region is a hidden treasure !! Hotel Design and Character : I will leave the in and outs of the hotel’s design to the professionals but for us the hotel’s architecture, the earthy tones and minimalist interiors were luxurious and classy. More importantly the attention the detail was top notch. There were no half done tile or crooked fixture. The construction was top notch with high quality materials, fittings and fixtures. No short cuts !!! And free tip… no room has a bad view !! In room amenities: No big box or cheap stuff. Top quality personal products , bedding is heaven. Just pick up the bed throw and you know by the weight and density that it is legit! SPA : the crowning jewel of course. Every sauna is unique and whilst I thought that the different type of heating was a gimmick … but I was wrong. Again the quality of the build out was solid ….10/10 on cleanliness and the quality of lotions, salts and perfumes ! The spa and dipping pools were thoughtfully designed and immaculate. The spa effortlessly blends into the nature to the extent that we were in the hot tub and a herd of reindeers were maybe 10 feet from us grazing !! Food: absolutely delicious. We did their tasting menu, hamburgers and daily breakfast. Sometimes it is hard who to attribute the effort of a good meal to.. quality of the ingredients or the chef? The hotel however balanced both and the outcome was damn delicious. The buffet thankfully was not a conveyor belt but a personalized tray with many options !! If there are any downsides then I would say … no TV in room no traditional call by phone . Just one restaurant and It is not a traditional resort with poolside service nor is it a typical star hotel. It is a property to slow you down and help you connect with nature and yourself with design , luxury and service that is not in your face. Everything just blends in. The tagline said that only the fortunate find their way to Galdu and I thought it was a smar"
Lapland Hotels Riekonlinna
"The location of the hotel is very good. It is very close to the bus station and outdoor activity center. The room is warm and the hotel staff is very friendly. The hotel has a free sauna and gym. The room is a bit old and the bathroom is a bit trendy, but it is within the acceptable range. ,great"
Santa's Hotel Tunturi
"Clean rooms, sauna every day a big plus. Great breakfast and friendly staff. Felt very homely. Thanks Saariselkä."
Holiday Club Saariselkä
"This is the only hotel that I found unhygienic during my 2-week trip to Northern Europe. The bed smells, there is no Wi-Fi in the room, you have to go to the lobby, which is far from the room, and there is a 24-hour bar, which is a bit noisy."
Wilderness Hotel Juutua
"Hotel is in the spectacular location. From tthe restaurant tou can see a river."

Kuukkeli Log Houses Aurora Resort
"The B&B is very good and the environment is very good, but the check-in and breakfast are not in the same place. I have to drive to the supermarket to get it separately. I am a little helpless, but I called for information and they explained enthusiastically. The breakfast is also very good!"
Holiday Club Saariselkä Superior Apartments
"The apartment is quite ok but beds are small and dirty. Bedsheet and pillows are not clean. Good bathroom"
Kuukkeli Log Houses Teerenpesä
"Worst hotel experience ever. The reception of this hotel is 500 meters away from where we actually stayed, but the hotel didn't give any advance notice. We dragged our suitcases to the door of the room and called without the key. We had to walk back to get the key. Normally, you may think that walking back is okay, but this is Finland with thick snow at minus 20 degrees Celsius! The recetion is in a supermarket. There is no sign at the door. I can only call the front desk to ask. The front desk has a very bad attitude. They point at people's noses and say I hope you can behave yourself. They also refuse to admit that it is their work error and ask me to go. and platform complaint. I stayed one night and had to leave the next day. When I was packing my luggage, a woman turned the key in without knocking and shouted "out now!" I asked what was wrong with giving me some time to pack, and she said she had to leave in 10 minutes. All in all, a very, very bad attitude and a very poor experience. The front desk and staff have very poor English and cannot understand human speech."
Kuukkeli Log Houses Aurora- Secret Cabin
"The room is very large, there are 4 rooms, each of which is this twin bed, there are kitchen, sauna, washing machine, coffee machine, microwave, oven, refrigerator and other facilities, very convenient."
