Hotels in Guandu District, Kunming

It was already dark and a bit chilly when I arrived at the Kunming Kaichen Hotel in the evening. There was a receptionist on the 1st floor, and when I went up to the 10th floor reception, a young lady greeted me with a warm smile and a soft voice. She even upgraded my room, which instantly made me feel a surge of warmth. The overall decor is French-inspired, not overtly flashy, but every detail shows meticulous attention. The paintings on the walls and the ornaments in the corners all look carefully selected. The elevator and hallways offer a new scenic view with every step. Upon entering the room, you can tell the hotel has chosen good quality items; it was spotlessly clean, and the bed was incredibly comfortable, instantly relieving the day's fatigue. With the windows closed, it was perfectly quiet, I couldn't even hear traffic, only my own breathing, which felt incredibly peaceful. When I got hungry at night, there were food options just a short walk downstairs – I highly recommend the Dai-style BBQ! It’s also close to many attractions, so there’s no need to rush or worry. After all, the point of staying in a hotel is for comfort and peace of mind, feeling just like home. That night, I slept incredibly soundly, and even my dreams felt soft. I will definitely choose this place again on my next visit to Kunming. It’s also great for travel photography; the small garden/gym on the 3rd floor is worth a visit.

This was the cheapest hotel we stayed at during our Yunnan trip, and also the one with the absolute best service! First, they offer subway station pick-up and airport transfer services. On the day of check-in, they send a reminder just in case you're unaware of these services. Upon arrival, you're immediately offered a glass of water, and then they thoughtfully help you arrange your airport transfer times. The room itself is fully smart-enabled, which is really impressive. But what touched us the most was that our flight was at 5 AM the next day, and we had scheduled a 4 AM airport drop-off. We came down about ten minutes early, expecting to wait a bit for the driver. To our surprise, even before 4 AM, a young man and a front desk lady were already waiting for us! They even kindly gave us two breakfast boxes to take on the road (we hadn't paid for breakfast). As soon as we stepped out of the hotel, the car was already waiting right at the entrance. The service was so incredible that we actually wondered if we really only paid 100 RMB, haha!

The room decor is simple yet tasteful. The tea set on the table is thoughtfully chosen, with black and white ceramic cups paired with bamboo lids, looking clean and comfortable. They even provide Yun-Dian mountain spring mineral water, showing great attention to detail. The room has excellent natural light, and the casual sofa in the background is very relaxing. It's truly enjoyable to brew tea and rest in the room. The overall cleanliness is excellent, the environment is quiet, and the stay was fantastic. All the small items in the hotel have a great style, you can feel the owner's dedication. (Water dispensers are available on every floor! This is a huge plus!) The location is convenient, and it offers good value for money. (No room card! Facial recognition for entry!) It's very suitable for tourists visiting the area. I would choose this place again on my next visit and highly recommend it to everyone!

This has become my go-to hotel for an overnight stay when I'm in Kunming. I've stayed here four or five times now, and each time I've been very satisfied. The hygiene is excellent, and it's very close to the high-speed rail station, so I highly recommend it. There's hot water for showers both morning and night, and the air conditioning works great.

The room was exceptionally clean and spacious, and it was very quiet during my stay. The front desk service was also very responsive. Overall, it was great. It's very close to Kunming Station, less than 600 meters on foot, taking about 6-8 minutes. There are many shops nearby: downstairs, there's a convenience store, a pharmacy, and many restaurants. The restaurants across the street are open until late at night. Nearby, there's the Haoyue Tiandi shopping mall, about a ten-minute walk away, which has Hema Fresh, Decathlon, tea houses, various mobile phone and computer brands, DJI, audio brands, and gaming stores. I personally really liked it, and it will be my top choice next time I stay near Kunming Station.

The property is about 10 mins walk from the railway station. Very clean and new property. The front desk is absolutely amazing. They gave us free goodies when we checked in. There are many places to eat nearby. Most of the attractions are very close by. The breakfast was a good mix of vegetarian and non veg options. They had a coffee machine at the front desk which helped with morning coffee fix. There were many stalls selling fresh fruits 100m from the hotel. We stayed at 14th floor the room was nice and spacious. Since we wanted to eat halal they guided us towards the shunchung mosque area which had many many halal food options. I would definitely recommend this

Had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with everything needed for a relaxing stay. The staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive throughout. The location is near to the Kunming International Airport, making it easy to get there. Overall, the stay was comfortable and enjoyable, and I was happy with the service and value for money.

While the hotel's surroundings aren't the best, the service is truly exceptional. The staff are incredibly polite, and it's clear the management is dedicated to providing excellent service. The free airport pickup, complimentary drop-off at the subway station, luggage storage, and even luggage delivery to the room – every one of these services more than makes up for the less-than-ideal location. I heard the airport is expanding, and I hope the hotel's service remains just as outstanding after the expansion is complete. Best wishes for your business!

My stay at Kunming Jia Hua Plaza Hotel was excellent overall. The hotel's location is fantastic, with convenient transportation and easy access to attractions and dining options. The front desk staff were very welcoming and efficient with check-in and check-out, and all the staff were friendly. The room was clean and tidy. Despite the hotel being over 20 years old, the facilities are well-maintained, and the bedding was comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The hotel environment is generally quiet, making it a suitable choice for a stay while exploring Kunming. The breakfast offered a good variety of dishes and tasted great. Overall, I was very satisfied with the location, service, and the entire stay. It offers good value for money, and I would consider staying here again on my next visit to Kunming.

The environment was fine. There were minor flaws with the in-room facilities, but it was quite clean. The shower room was super spacious, but the showerhead was a long strip, making it difficult to use. The toilet worked well with an automatic flush. They offer airport transfers, but only on the hour, no half-hour pickups. And it was incredibly crowded; they kept squeezing people in even when there was no space left 👍. The late-night snack was only minced pork rice noodles, which were edible. The souvenirs were Yunnan specialties, all local snacks. Unfortunately, there was road construction right outside, which made it very inconvenient to drag luggage, and it was quite muddy and dirty. However, the value for money was quite good during the off-season.
