LLaoeyu1230The hotel is brand new and exceptionally well-equipped. The front desk staff, Jinli and Jinsuo, were incredibly warm and thoughtful. The in-room smart features are highly advanced, minimizing the need for manual operation. The shower pressure was perfect, making for a truly relaxing experience. The hotel's amenities are excellent; the toothpaste, toothbrush, and slippers are both eco-friendly and comfortable, making them items you'll appreciate keeping or reusing. The bedding is also very comfortable, and the blackout curtains provide excellent light blocking. While the overall soundproofing is good, we did notice some louder sounds now and then. All in all, it's a great hotel, perfect for both leisure vacations and family getaways.

Very good value with spacious and clean rooms. It's a very big hotel with great facilities, including an indoor pool, 24h gym, large garden, bar and restaurants. Service was fantastic throughout our stay, and the front desk (Xiao Fu) helped with various queries promptly and also upgraded our room at check-in. Highly recommended.

GGuest UserHello everyone. We stayed at this hotel at the end of November 2024. Initially, we booked the hotel for 5 days, then we extended, extended and in the end, we stayed there for 11 nights. The hotel is new, clean. The rooms have good quality robes, toiletries. We were quite satisfied with the breakfasts. We were pleased with the availability of freshly squeezed juices. The main staff does not speak English, but this is not a problem, since the on-line translator saves us, and the staff tries very hard to understand what you want from them. The only person who speaks excellent English was the manager Sam. A man passionate about his work. He told us a lot about the hotel and what is nearby. And there is a lot there: a park with playgrounds, a bungee jump, and a birdhouse with parrots. Sam showed us a place next to the hotel, which is a set for films. Boat station, where you can take a boat and take a walk on the lake and go straight to the hotel grounds. The hotel itself is in a great location, in a lowland, on the shore of the lake. If you plan a trip to Kunming, then it is far from the city. But we needed a quiet and beautiful place. And we got it. With the window open in the evenings and mornings you can hear the fish splashing in the lake and the ducks quacking. It was great to sleep, as the mattress and pillows are of excellent quality. We will definitely come back here and will recommend it to our friends.
P.S. Once again, we say a huge thank you to Sam, he not only told and showed us a lot about the hotel and the surrounding area, he also helped us solve some issues with our luggage at the airport. A wonderful, responsive person. The hotel management is very lucky to have such a person on their team.

GGuest UserThe room was spotless and well-equipped with all necessary amenities. Daguanyuan Park is directly opposite the hotel, offering great convenience for sightseeing. Upon arrival, children's essentials and fresh fruit were already provided in the room.
The hotel offers a wide array of room types, including family-friendly options with flexible bed arrangements and quiet rooms ideal for elderly guests seeking a peaceful rest. All rooms are consistently quiet and generously sized.
The hotel boasts three outdoor hot spring pools, perfectly sized for family relaxation and enjoyment.
What truly stood out was the unparalleled service – hands down the best we've encountered during our stay. The front desk team was incredibly friendly and eager to help, always going the extra mile to resolve any guest concerns.
While the restaurant isn't huge, the breakfast spread is incredibly comprehensive, offering something for everyone. Lunch is also available to order, with dishes that are both light and delicious. On our first day, we received a complimentary light meal that was just as excellent as anything on the menu – truly exceptional value.
We'll definitely make this our top choice when we return to Kunming. A perfect 100%!

DDoulingzhengdehuangdiWe stayed here for three nights. It's a charming and beautiful boutique hotel. The room's soundproofing was quite good, and the hygiene was impressive. Although the front desk staff's attitude at check-in was very poor, the lobby manager, who happened to be nearby, noticed the situation and promptly resolved it. We were also given a complimentary gift bag upon departure, which was much appreciated!
**Suggestions for Improvement:**
1. The breakfast menu could definitely use some improvement. They should consider adding more meat dishes, as currently, there isn't much to eat besides a bowl of noodles. The restaurant itself is quite small, leading to wait times during busy periods. Optimizing the table and chair layout could significantly increase seating capacity.
2. I didn't participate in the afternoon tea, but I noticed some guests carrying fruit and prawn crackers to eat by the rooftop pool. Given that seating on the rooftop is already limited, I hope the hotel can enforce better management. Just a few days ago, at the Shangri-La in Shenzhen, guests wearing hotel slippers into the restaurant were stopped, but here, such behavior in the restaurant seems to be largely ignored by the staff.
3. The elevator wait times are definitely long. Two elevators are simply not enough for the hotel. Once you're upstairs, you almost don't want to come down because you know you'll have to wait so long for an elevator again.
4. While the hotel's location *seems* convenient for reaching various places, in reality, getting around by foot or car actually consumes a surprising amount of time.
5. The exhaust fan in the bathroom is practically ineffective. The lingering smell of a previous guest's smoking in the toilet area was very strong and wouldn't dissipate. Although the hotel did come to address it later, which helped a lot, I hope they can improve the exhaust fan's performance in the future.

GGuest UserActually, the location is not very good in Kunming, but it is close to the Grand View Tower and the West Mountain. If you want to go to Laoyu River, it is a little further. The service of the whole hotel is very good, but the hardware is not very good. But the hardware is well maintained, which can also prove the quality of service from another perspective. The garden view in the middle is very small, unlike Chengdu, which is a big lake. What I care about more is the problem of turning on the air conditioner, which is not turned on until 8 o'clock in the evening. However, after playing for a few days, it is understandable that I basically return to the room at 9 o'clock in the evening, and it is really not wasted. The breakfast is very ordinary, but the cooked rice noodles and rice noodles are good. The beef topping is very soft, and there is no highlight in other aspects of the restaurant. In general, the room is large and comfortable, and the price is also suitable. It is still recommended.

The handwritten note left by the staff in the room was a very special touch – it's been ages since I received a handwritten message! The room was impeccably clean and tidy every single day, truly deserving a five-star rating. I also adored the little heart shape the staff thoughtfully arranged on the bed.
The thoughtful service from the front desk staff was excellent. I even connected with them on WeChat during check-in, and they responded promptly to all my questions and issues throughout my stay.
I really appreciated the smart design of the elevators: after scanning your room card, it automatically selects your floor. In most other hotels, you have to scan your card *and then* manually press your floor button, so this Novotel is the first one I've encountered with such a convenient system. And a tip: remember to look up at the ceiling when you're in the elevator – there's a pleasant surprise waiting for you!
Another thoughtful detail was the complimentary bottled water available for guests to take in the elevator lobbies on each floor and right next to the front desk. It's super handy, especially since I often forget to bring water when I head out.
What I didn't like were the two large display screens at the front desk. They created an unnecessary barrier between myself and the staff, which felt a bit impersonal during what should have been warm, face-to-face interactions.
Finally, thank you for the small gift we received at check-out. I haven't opened it yet, but I'm guessing it's a flower pastry. It would have been even better if it had been given to us a bit earlier, perhaps before I finished packing my luggage, so I wouldn't have had an extra item to juggle on the high-speed train.

Our room, located on a high floor, was very spacious and well-equipped, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows that provided fantastic, panoramic views of Dianchi Lake. I've stayed here several times now, and the housekeeping staff are always meticulous and attentive. I would definitely choose to stay here again!

GGuest UserAs a local in Kunming, I occasionally enjoy a hotel staycation to relax. This time, I booked a deluxe suite which came with executive lounge access. This included breakfast, afternoon tea, and even a light French dinner in the evening, so all our dining needs were conveniently met at the hotel. Unfortunately, we had a minor issue with our room during this stay: no hot water! We reported it to the duty manager, Amy, who responded incredibly promptly. An engineer arrived quickly to resolve the problem. Amy even sent up a complimentary bottle of white wine, which really helped to smooth over the initial inconvenience. While a hotel approaching its tenth anniversary might naturally show some signs of age in its facilities, the exceptional service here more than compensates for any minor shortcomings.

The hotel is quiet, even though it is not far from the main road, and one can hardly hear any traffic noise.
From the hotel, it is easy to get to attractions such as Kunming Ming Old Street. Green Lake, and the Kunming City Museum. 2 malls, Sping City 66 and Kunming Mixc, with different types of cuisine, are between 10 to 20 minutes by foot from the hotel.
The hotel is less than 2 years old, and is clean and well-maintained. The gym is big enough for one to engage in CrossFit training.
Special mention goes to Sally, the duty manager, and two front desk staff, Remy and Annie, for their assistance on the day of my check-out. I appreciate their professionalism and the extra mile they went to help me with my final bill.
