AAnonymous UserThis trip was a last-minute decision. I booked the hotel after 1 AM and was pleasantly surprised after landing and checking in. As someone who pays close attention to hotel details, especially since Kunming is always just a layover during my trips to Yunnan, I have to say Papman is truly amazing. First, the service: I received a fresh flower basket upon check-in, and the hotel butler was incredibly attentive, responding promptly to all my requests. They even sent a freshly made cake for our wedding anniversary, which was delicious and high-quality. Second, the room amenities: The vanity had a full box of soft facial tissues, makeup remover wipes, mouthwash, and laundry detergent. There was a Dyson hairdryer, and the shower had a dry/wet separation with push-button controls. Third, the hotel's decor: Every step revealed a beautiful view, and there were multiple tea rooms available for guests to use for free. The rooftop on the third floor offered spectacular photo opportunities. Walking around the hotel at night, I was delighted to see the shadow of a deer cast by the镂空灯 (镂空灯 - 'cut-out' or 'pierced' lamps). Fourth, the food: We received complimentary afternoon tea with tasty desserts, and the late-night snack selection was extensive, including rice noodles, fried potatoes, 'bao jiang' tofu, and grilled skewers. The salted peanuts, especially the Yunnan 'xiaohua' black peanuts, were excellent; I immediately asked if I could buy a can to take home. All in all, I'll definitely choose this place again on my next visit to Kunming!

LLijuan ♪(^∇^*) This was my second stay, and the hotel is fantastic. The overall service is great. I really like the Wild View room type; the design is excellent, with everything you could possibly need. The cleanliness is also top-notch. The hotel is right by the lake, offering fantastic views. The forest by the lake is like a huge natural oxygen bar, and there's also a large lawn. The hotel restaurant is superb; breakfast is very rich and delicious, and the regular meals are good too. It's also a great choice for families, with craft activities for kids. My only regret is that I haven't had a chance to experience the spa on either visit, but I'll definitely try it next time.

GGuest UserGreat location. Surrounded by good cafe and western restaurant. In a walking distance to the central shopping area of Kunming. The room is spacious and well-equipped. Breakfast are great and delicious too. You can also ask for a packed breakfast if you leave earlier than 6 am.

GGuest UserNovotel, part of the French Accor Group, is a mid-to-upscale business and leisure hotel chain. I've stayed at them abroad before, and they always offer guests a balanced, relaxing experience. In China, they're operated by Huazhu Hotels Group. Choosing the Novotel on Dianchi Road this time was a smart move.
**Butler Service:** After booking, a butler (mine was Lucky) called me in advance to provide hotel service and facility information via WeChat. They even sent a PPT with a local travel guide, so guests can be well-informed before check-in.
**Location:** The hotel is near Nanya Fengqing First City and Aegean Shopping Park. There are plenty of restaurants on two nearby streets, making dining and shopping very convenient. It's in a quiet spot yet close to everything. Fuhai Station on Metro Line 5 is just a few hundred meters away, making it easy to visit attractions.
**Room & Cleanliness:** The twin room was a decent size with wide beds that were medium-firm. There were two pillows – one for support and one for sleeping. Personally, I found the pillows a bit too soft. All the linen was very clean, and the hairdryer was a Dyson. The room was thoroughly cleaned, with no missed spots.
**Gym:** Located on the 20th floor, I was very satisfied. It's on two levels and well-equipped. Working out with a night view from a high floor was a real treat.
**Swimming Pool:** Also on the 20th floor, it's 20 meters long and 1.2 meters deep. I checked it out but didn't have time for a swim. During the day, the floor-to-ceiling windows by the pool let in plenty of sunshine.
**Laundry Room:** There are 2 dryers and 2 washing machines. I used them once. I imagine it might get busy and require waiting during peak season.
**Breakfast:** You can sample local specialties like Yunnan rice noodles, Ersi (rice cakes), Miggan (rice sheets), and Qiguoji (steam pot chicken soup). The breakfast spread was comprehensive, but the croissants and Western pastries were of average quality.
**Special Drinks:** As a Huazhu Hotels member, I received a voucher for a special coffee drink at the lobby bar, and a fruit platter was sent to my room.
**Service:** The lobby staff were quite enthusiastic and answered all my questions in detail. Upon check-out, I even received a thoughtful small gift box.
**Suggestions:**
1. There was only one small trash can in the room. There were no trash cans near the sink area, which was quite inconvenient.
2. The shower room uses anti-slip tiles, but adding an anti-slip mat would make it even safer.

Upon arrival, we were impressed by the hotel's luxurious and grand appearance, both inside and out. The environment, cleanliness, and facilities were excellent. The staff were proactive and welcoming, helping us with our luggage. Our room was lavish and spacious, impeccably clean, and well-stocked with all the essential toiletries and amenities. The breakfast offered a wide and delicious variety of both Chinese and Western dishes. The hotel's location right next to Wanda Plaza is incredibly convenient for visiting all of Kunming's attractions. We, as seniors, thoroughly enjoyed our three-day stay at Wanda Vista Kunming, finding great satisfaction in the dining, accommodation, and transportation aspects. The hotel staff and the service personnel were truly outstanding!

**Facilities**: This is a hot spring resort that's well-maintained despite its age. Villa 10 is perfectly situated, and the facilities are in excellent condition – not a single sliding door was out of order or stuck, which is quite impressive. However, it would be even better if the front door locks were upgraded.
**Cleanliness**: Very clean, very satisfied.
**Environment**: I walked all around the resort grounds; the scenery is beautiful. Beyond the expansive lake views, there's also a hidden gem of a pond with bald cypress trees.
**Service**: Absolutely more than five points, more than five stars – truly perfect. The golf carts were available on call, and the turndown service was meticulous. A special thanks to Ms. Yang at the front desk for helping to coordinate our departure transfer, adding another wonderful touch to our trip.
**Afternoon Tea Experience**: The taste was exquisite; I even worried I might never find such delicious pastries elsewhere again.
**Airport Transfer Service**: The transfer car was good, and the driver was skilled and provided thoughtful service.
**Outdoor Garden Hot Spring Experience**: The hot springs were great. The bathing area even thoughtfully provided a stool for seniors, though the lighting in the changing area was really too dim to see the locker numbers.
**Food**: The food was also good. I really liked the mushroom and radish dish at dinner, and the roasted duck was unique. The breakfast rice noodles were outstanding! And the gulls loved the birdseed provided for them too.

GGuest UserThe panoramic twin room we stayed in with our child was absolutely fantastic! The room was spacious and bright, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering a breathtaking city view. The bedding was soft and comfortable, and the soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a peaceful sleep for the kids. The hotel thoughtfully provided children's toiletries, and Suri was incredibly warm, attentive, and responsive. The cleanliness was impeccable, and the French chic style was very elegant. It's truly family-friendly with a rich breakfast selection, making travel with kids super easy and worry-free. Highly recommended!

GGuest UserVisited Kunming with the kids during the May Day holiday and chose the Shangri-La Jen Hotel, which has a great location. The room was a bit small, but perfectly adequate. The pool and gym facilities were quite good. Remy, Sally, and Grace at the front desk all provided excellent service. The breakfast was delicious, and the Chinese restaurant was also very good. Even though the weather in Kunming was a bit chilly this time, we definitely felt the hotel's warm service!

XXiaotongjoziAn older hotel, a bit outdated in terms of decor, but on the plus side, you don't have to worry about any renovation smells. Back in its day, the hotel quality was definitely top-notch. The location is excellent, right in a prime area. The room was spacious and well-equipped, and the bed was very comfortable. What really stood out was the fantastic service. Gin was very patient and arranged the room according to my requests, and even gave me recommendations for the surrounding area. Highly recommended!
