Mountain View Hotels in Kunming

I've stayed in thousands of five-star hotels, and this one truly made me want to stay longer. No need to even go to Japan anymore; Tokyo probably has at least 3,000 hotels like this. It's perfectly suited for those who seek ultimate tranquility and beauty, and dislike noisy and superficial environments. The service was also excellent, although it felt a bit understaffed. Even though the room itself didn't have a hot spring bath, the SPA massage was absolutely amazing! This place isn't suitable for families with many noisy children, as it would disrupt the aesthetic. I wouldn't recommend it for large families with elderly people or many kids. Facilities: Excellent, on par with five-star hotels. Environment: Superb. It's located within the Expo Park, with mountain and forest attractions right outside – incredibly relaxing.

This is the second time I’ve booked this hotel and also the second time I’m impressed with the hotel service. I’ve touched down Kunming too early and since I’m tired from late night flight, I head straight to the hotel after I’ve landed although I understand check in cannot be so early. The concierge was nice to allow me and my partner to enjoy breakfast (we booked stay with breakfast) while waiting for guests to check out as their hotel was fully booked. Right after our breakfast, the concierge saw us and quickly chased up the cleaning staff to tidy up the room asap so guests can check in earlier. I appreciate their thoughtfulness in this and was lucky to check in in the morning although the stated check-in time is 2pm. I also appreciate the cleaning staff attentiveness to us as we prefer the room to be clean up every 2 days instead of daily. (We book 4 nights there). She keeps checking in with us as she is worried we run out of drinking water, tissue paper, toilet roll and clean towel almost every morning. On our last day, we came back to our room around late afternoon and she thoughtfully hang a laundry bag filled with drinking water bottles and even new pack of tissue on our door. (We leave do not disturb button on while we went out.) The hotel staff at lobby was also very attentive when we get out of Didi outside in the rain, he runs towards us with umbrella to shield us from rain. I also enjoy hotel breakfast very much as I arrived in Kunming with weak stomach and needed non spicy and easy food to ingest. They provided a great range of food that suits foreigners, children and even sick adults like me. Thank you Dianyu Yunling, I know I can trust this hotel’s service level and will return to this hotel again for my next Kunming trip!

A hidden gem by Dianchi Lake! This hotel has excellent facilities and the butler service is incredibly attentive. Our room was quiet and spotless. The breakfast, afternoon tea, and late-night snacks were such a thoughtful touch, keeping us well-fed all day long! The design is also very well thought out, with every corner being photo-worthy. Our whole family was very satisfied!

The hotel is incredibly convenient, right across from Yuantong Temple, and there's a bus stop right outside. It's relatively close to many popular attractions in the city center. Since it was summer vacation, there were a lot of tourists, and the room's soundproofing wasn't great. There were some noisy kids playing in the hallway after 10 PM, which really disrupted my sleep. My stay might have been better if I had avoided the peak summer/winter holiday season. Finally, I have to mention that the hotel's 1.2-meter beds are not very friendly for taller people; they're a bit short 😂

I arrived at Changshui International Airport late at 2:15 a.m. I called the hotel’s customer service to request an airport pickup. They responded quickly, and the driver arrived about 10 minutes after the booking was confirmed. The room was spacious, but it had a slight smell because it was a smoking room, even though I had requested a non-smoking room during booking. The next morning, I had breakfast, which was good, and we departed from the hotel to the airport at 8:00 am sharp. Overall it was a good stay, staffs are friendly and helpful.

This was the most comfortable hotel I stayed at during my days in Kunming. Although the hotel decor is a bit dated, you can tell a lot of thought went into it. The service, in particular, was excellent. Every staff member I encountered was incredibly genuine. I really felt the sincerity and kindness of the Yunnan people. The hot springs were also quite clean. The breakfast at this place was exceptionally well-prepared; the ingredients and flavors were all delightful. I'll definitely return after their renovation is complete.

We had a great one-night stay. The room was clean and spacious, located in a quiet gated community. We arrived around noon and were warmly welcomed by the owner. At the gate, we showed our booking details to security, then walked a short distance to the unit with our luggage. We enjoyed a delicious lunch prepared by the in-house chef, and the owner also made us excellent, good quality coffee. The house is very close to Dianchi Lake, just a few steps from the gate. We were able to walk around the lake and even took a cableway across to the Western Hills (Must do). The lake area was also lovely for a nighttime walk. Overall, our stay was relaxing and enjoyable. We wish we had stayed longer. The owner and staff were very friendly and made our stay even more pleasant.😊

The room was great! I was a bit worried when I first booked, seeing it was an attic room, thinking it might not be comfortable, but it turned out to be surprisingly good. The ceiling is a little low, but honestly, I think it's a normal height for a house. Although the room isn't huge, it's fully equipped with amenities. It's newly renovated and completely smart, with a very sensible layout. For this price, it's incredibly good value for money.

The room is pretty decent and big. There's just a bit of noise as the room I got is next to a room being renovated, but it is only during the daytime. The best thing for me aside from the beautiful view, big room, and big bed is the smart toilet (I specifically check for places with bidet for my stays, and this place got a high-tech one). The hotel and cold water are also great. I appreciate that the toilet, sink, and shower are separate. The staff are all kind and helpful. I got an issue with my DiDi account and need to book one for my scheduled tour, and the staff on duty gladly helped me book one paying for it and said I could just settle the payment later, and even escorted me to the DiDi and let the driver know I don't speak the language and to get me safely to the location. The other staff also helped me with my WeChat, which helped a lot during my whole stay in China. The only con that I can say (if you are specific with location) is that it is not that close with the usual tourist spots like the Kunming Old Street, but it is close to the South Railway station (Kunmingnan). This is not a big con for me as I actually enjoyed the nearby malls and alleys. This is one of the good stuff here as well. It is on top of a mall, and just across the place is also a place to go shopping (for clothes, food, restaurants). There's a big supermarket/department store in the next door mall too. It also gets lively at night. Overall, personally, I find this a great place to stay in Kunming.

We stayed at Bai Nian Sheng Shi Hotel (Kunming Changshui International Airport) before our departure, and it was a good choice for a short stay. The hotel is located only about 10 minutes from Kunming Changshui International Airport. The road leading to the hotel was quite rough due to construction work during our stay. It appeared to be the main access road used by many vehicles, so don’t be surprised by the condition of the road. The room is a little old, but it was very clean, comfortable, and affordable. If you're looking for a place to rest for a few hours or stay overnight before an early morning or late-night flight, this hotel is an excellent option. The surrounding environment is peaceful and has a countryside feel. We enjoyed waking up to the sounds of chickens, the fresh air, and the pleasant fragrance of flowers, which was a nice contrast to the busy airport nearby. The hotel also provides complimentary bottled mineral water, and if you don't want to go out for a meal, you can enjoy a steamboat dinner at the hotel's own restaurant. The hotel owner was incredibly kind and welcoming. She provides a free airport shuttle service according to a scheduled timetable and even helped us carry our luggage, which made the transfer very convenient. Overall, Bai Nian Sheng Shi Hotel offers excellent value for money. The friendly hospitality, free airport shuttle, clean rooms, and peaceful surroundings make it a great choice for travelers needing a convenient stay near Kunming Airport.
