"I spent three nights at Meliá Maputo Sky in room 11004, and I absolutely loved my stay. The room was spacious, comfortable, and had all the amenities I needed for a relaxing visit. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Even though most of them spoke Portuguese and I speak English, they always made an effort to assist me with a smile, which I really appreciated. The daily breakfast was excellent, with a nice variety of selections that changed each day. It was a great way to start my mornings. The location is perfect—right in the CBD and within walking distance of several good restaurants and city attractions. Overall, I had a fantastic experience and highly recommend Meliá Maputo Sky to anyone visiting Maputo. I would definitely stay here again!"

"I stayed at City Lodge Maputo for one night before my flight home, and it was exactly what I needed after three weeks of volunteering in Mozambique. The hotel is modern, clean and very comfortable. The room was spacious, the bed was excellent, and everything was well maintained. After weeks of early mornings, long days at sea and simple accommodation, it was the perfect place to relax and recharge. The staff were professional, friendly and efficient, making both check-in and check-out effortless. I also enjoyed the restaurant, where I had a delicious meal in a pleasant atmosphere. A special mention goes to the complimentary airport shuttle service. It was punctual, well organised and made travelling to the airport completely stress-free—an excellent service and a great way to end my trip. If you're looking for a comfortable, safe and well-managed hotel before or after your flight, I can highly recommend City Lodge Maputo. It was the perfect ending to an unforgettable journey."

"I had a dismal stay and am completely shocked at the standard here. “Furniture “ is tired old and broken Fridge freezer switched off Completely rusted and gross. Worst part. The freezer door doesn’t close. My frozen food all went soft and warm and I had a whole day drive great. Funky musty smell in the bottom area Sliding door to balcony broken Toilet doesn’t flush upstairs. Left a bucket for a manual flush ? No power on the lounge area Oven full of grimy food trays unwashed. Roaches in oven 😵 No drinking glasses in the room No hot water in the shower. Upstairs bathroom hand shower doesn’t even extend so you cannot shower you have to sit and use it. I’m disgusted to say the least. And staying here is actually the worst place I’ve ever spent a night in all the places I’ve ever stayed in."

"The Hotel Cardoso is sensational in every way, starting with its location and privileged views. The rooms are very spacious and the bed is extremely comfortable. A huge plus for me is that the pillows actually smell fresh—unlike more than half of the hotels I visit. While the room could use a few more power outlets, it wasn't a major issue. The TV is great, with a huge selection of channels and the ability to pair with Netflix, YouTube, etc., from your phone—a feature you don't find in most hotels. The cleanliness is good and the shower is excellent. Everyone at the hotel is very kind and friendly. I’d like to give a special shout-out to the front desk team, as well as Mambo the bartender and Eugênio the waiter, who are both fantastic. Dining & Bar Breakfast: Very comprehensive, catering to all tastes and habits. Dinner: There is a buffet which is quite good, though very expensive. The Bar: Some items are pricey, especially the drinks, but they are sensational. Mambo is truly a master behind the bar. Summary: I felt right at home at Hotel Cardoso. My thanks to the entire staff without exception."

The food in the hotel is also of exceptional quality. The best part of the rooms is the view over the water. Only drawback is that wifi signal was not always strong in the evenings."

"Spent one night at the VIP Grand Hotel. First impressions were very good. Lovely ambience, clean and welcoming. Reception staff professional, on point and helpful. Bedroom comfortable with everything that one usually finds in a more upmarket Hotel. The garden and pool area inviting. The let down was the bar and restaurant. The bar service was lacking and unfortunately couldn't fulfill my request ... I asked for a glass of white wine, which it seems was not available, so requested a cider, which they unfortunately also didn't have. Dining - Dinner was alright, nothing special, but tasty. Very little choice. Unable to enjoy a glass of wine with the meal, as again no wine by the glass, neither white nor red. Breakfast was actually very enjoyable and is to be recommended. Unfortunately no effort was made by any dining staff to clean up after guests left. The tables were simply left, as were the spills and messes on the floor. (Left one wondering what the hygiene in the kitchen area was like.) With an improvement to the bar and restaurant VIP Grand, Maputo could be a top class hotel."

"went to Hotel Capital at around 3:30 PM because I needed to use the internet. Mr. Carlos informed me that in order to use the internet, I had to make a purchase, which was completely fine with me. However, I only needed to send one urgent email. Throughout the entire interaction, Mr. Carlos treated me very poorly. His responses were rude and dismissive, and his attitude was unprofessional. I was extremely disappointed with the way he handled the situation. At some point, other gentlemen arrived, and his behavior toward them was completely different — much more respectful and welcoming. That made me feel very uncomfortable and quite saddened. I also overheard some staff members shouting that “this is not an office.” I found that unnecessary and inappropriate, especially considering I only needed a few minutes to send an urgent email. I paid my bill without any issue. I believe Mr. Carlos seriously needs to improve his customer service skills, as his attitude was unacceptable. On the other hand, the reception staff were very kind and professional."
