MM1043****As a native of Shanxi, I have to accompany friends from other places to Pingyao from time to time. Because the attractions in central Shanxi are relatively dense and not far away, there are few opportunities to stay in Pingyao Ancient City. This time, I happened to take my family to Pingyao for an impromptu family trip. Pingyao Ancient City has changed a lot in recent years. The battery cars are managed uniformly and everyone changes cars outside the city to enter the ancient city, so the overall walking atmosphere is very good.
Taotang Hotel has a total of 10 rooms, each of which is very large. The overall hardware and software are very attentive, the traditional Shanxi courtyard design, and the butler-style service are comprehensively considered to be the highest-end hotel in Pingyao Ancient City. The hotel is located on the core main street. Because we brought children and large and small bags of luggage, the boss and the waiter personally picked us up throughout the journey, and the room also installed a child fence for the baby! Everything was done very carefully, and the food for the young baby was specially arranged in the kitchen without adding oil and salt! Thank you so much!
Different from the professional service training and rhetoric of traditional hotels; the boss and staff are more like family members, they don’t say any polite words but take care of the guests’ needs anytime and anywhere. We Shanxi people are reserved and real in our bones!
I wish the hotel business to be prosperous and all aspects will be further improved!

GGuest UserWe had a wonderful one-night stay at Leisure Hotel Pingyao. The service was excellent—friendly and attentive staff even picked us up from the city wall, which made getting to the hotel super convenient. We had both dinner and breakfast at the hotel, and both meals were absolutely scrumptious! The location is ideal too—just off the main crowded streets, so it's peaceful but still close to everything.
The only minor issue we had was with the air conditioning, which was a bit on the warm side. Even though the outside temperature was in the low tens (Celsius), we prefer sleeping in cooler conditions and had some trouble adjusting the room temperature. That aside, our stay was memorable and very comfortable overall. Highly recommend you to stay at their accommodation!

AAnonymous UserThis should be the best homestay in Pingyao. I didn’t have the opportunity to live. I was lucky enough to meet the changes in the itinerary of the guests. From the day we checked in, we also presented two simple meals because of the early shuttle bus. It was very warm. The rain can have a hot soup these days. It’s really comfortable. , from pick-up to delivery station, from the play route to the itinerary, all the time is not warmly introduced and recommended, especially during the National Day, it is not easy to take a taxi to Wusu Airport, help to hear that the Didi station bus can be directly reached, less than 40 yuan, just at the Pingyao Bus Terminal at the north gate of the old city, It took ten minutes to walk. The key Chengjia's little grandmother and Niannian also stepped on the battery car to send us there. We stayed for the first time for one night and had the courtesy of being received by relatives. Everyone is familiar with relatives like returning to their own home. The old Cheng's family is really atmospheric and decorated. Fashion and novelty are very tasteful, clean and comfortable to live, especially thanks to the old Cheng family up and down, live here with peace of mind, next time you stagger the peak, come back and enjoy it.

GGuest UserExcellent and friendly reception when we arrived at the hotel. We only had one and half days to tour pingyao and the hotel staff were very helpful in recommending a half day guided tour with buggy transport to various sites in Pingyao Guchen. They also helped us to link up with a tour agency to book a day tour to Wang Jia Da Yuan and Hukou waterfall. The staff helped us to book tickets to the show，又见平遥， and shuttled us to the venue after the half day tour. Because of their excellent recommendations and service, we managed to enjoy the sights and culture of Pingyao within one and half days.
The hotel is in a beautiful traditional courtyard. Newly renovated. The room is very clean with modern amenities. Beds are comfortable. Breakfast is hearty.
We also love the free transfer from high speed rail station to hotel and return. Highly recommended!

There is a little brother who rides an electric car to pick up and drop off. The housekeeper is also responsible for explaining the places to visit on the map, and also provides tastings of special brewed vinegar, and breakfast every day They are all local characteristics. The B&B itself is delicious and clean. If you want to rent clothes and makeup, the store recommended by the butler is also very good. The recommended places to eat are also delicious and cheap. MM844592****During my visit to Pingyao, I stayed at the Tingbo Hotel, and I give it a five-star rating! The location is incredible, right next to the North Gate of the Ancient City. The North Gate Scenic Area is just a 5-minute walk away, making it super convenient to come back and rest whenever you're tired.
The hotel's ambiance is truly stunning, perfectly blending Chinese elegance with modern comfort. The lobby is grand, and the rooms are clean and cozy. The amenities are all new, the bedding is soft and comfortable, and the showers are powerful and incredibly refreshing.
The service is impeccable! The front desk lady is warm and attentive, proactively helping with luggage, planning routes, and even giving us maps of the Ancient City. Every time I come back, she greets me with a smile, making me feel like home.
The value for money is incredible! The location and service are very reasonable. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Pingyao. It's definitely the best choice for accommodation near the Ancient City! I'll definitely stay here again on my next trip!

VVAYangExcellent location with a nice intro buffet dinner for local cuisine and breakfast included. Next to an important Taoist shrine and provision shops. Also within 5-10 min walk from the “New East Gate” which is important if you want to take a taxi for sights outside the walled city. Note outside vehicles are not allowed to get into the walled city. Extremely helpful staff and the high speed rail station to hotel transfer service is much appreciated especially since outside taxi cannot get into the hotel location. We speak mandarin and found the ancient city tour guides well worth the money. Look for the guides with the standardised purple windbreakers in winter. Standardised price but worth every cent. Glad my family took the detour to Ping Yao

3300874****Opened 25 years ago, it's remarkably new in every way. Located on the north side of the ancient city, you can see the city from your room window. Beyond the ancient city walls lies a beautiful park. The hotel has a reading lounge and a dining room. Besides the breakfast buffet, you can also order lunch and dinner a la carte. It's about a 10-minute walk from the north and west gates of the ancient city. There's a rooftop viewing platform where you can relax. The room was clean, tidy, and comfortable, with all the amenities. The air conditioning was powerful, keeping it cool even at 29 degrees Celsius. There were also air conditioners in the hallways. The only downside was the lack of storage space for small items, and the water table was quite small. The children occupied the table for homework, leaving us with no space for the thick quilt or extra pillows. Also, since it's new, there's still a slight odor from renovations. Overall, I was satisfied.

We took the high speed train arrived at Pingyaocheng station which is around 15 minutes away from the ancient city. When you enter the city wall gate, you will be amazed of the narrow streets and cobblestone road. Picked Yundingxuan hotel because it was closed to the North gate so
If the taxi was to dropped us off it’ll be a short walk but the driver dropped us off near the hotel because cars are not allowed within the main streets.
The hotel is closed to 200 years old and have characteristics of the Ming and Qing dynasties. I was born in Vietnam,
With roots to China but raised up in the US since I was 7 years old. I’ve seen Chinese movies but nothing will prepare you to the hotel and the ancient city. I was surprised how big the hotel complex was. All the staff were very nice, the main host spoke English, and the breakfasts were traditional Chinese breakfast. We stayed two nights and we felt safe throughout our visit. My wife and daughter appreciated the three hotel cats and all the felines throughout the city.
I’m sure the other hotels are fantastic and will give your a unique experience but I can vouch for Yundingxuan. Just be prepared to get out your comfort zone but be amazed by the visual and taste of Pingyao Ancient City.

PPanPivoI must highly recommend this wonderful hotel in the historic centre of Pingyao. The hotel is really authentic, well equipped, the room was beautiful and I didn't miss anything during my stay. The owner is very nice and helpful, he was able to help me with everything. The front desk is guarded by a small, beautiful dog who gives you a proper greeting. Everything is a short walk from the hotel yet it is in a quiet area where you won't be disturbed. Not choosing this hotel for my stay would be a big mistake. Thank you very much

Majitel je velmi milý a ochotný, se vším mi dokázal pomoci. Recepci hlídá malý, krásný pejsek, který vás náležitě přivítá. Vše je kousek od hotelu a přitom je v klidné oblasti, kde vás nebude nikdo rušit. Nevybrat si tento hotel pro svůj pobyt by byla velká chyba. Moc děkuji
