NNalakTangprapaThe accommodation was excellent, close to the South Gate and the main street of the old city. The accommodation has a smart home system, the room is clean and beautiful. The hotel owner took very good care of us, even picking us up at the train station for free. If you ask about sightseeing in the old city, the owner will explain in detail and patiently even though we don't know Chinese and help buy tickets for the old city. We wanted to hire a car from the hotel to travel for 1 day outside the old city. The hotel took very good care of us, recommending places, waiting for us to visit and sending us to the hotel, which is our next destination. Anyone who comes to the old city, I recommend staying here.

CCecile1986The hotel is really nice and in the authentic style of Pingyao. It is quite closed from the east gate and from the ancient city center.
The owner is really friendly, speaks good English and is doing everything to make you enjoy your stay. He did explained very well all the activity and provide help if needed.
The room is clean and we didn't care about the size as we were out all day. If I have to suggest one thing, it will be to have bigger mattresses as they are quite hard but it's a personal preference.

AAnonymous UserThe inn is located in the ancient city, very close to the central street. The room is clean and sanitary, with floor heating and air conditioning, so it is not cold at all. The boss was very enthusiastic and personally picked us up at the store. The recommended places to eat were very good. They also did their own travel photography at an inn. The photographer was very professional and we didn't make any mistakes. It was a very satisfying trip.

MM54135****It's just 300 meters from Yongning Gate (Xiaximen) and very close to the heart of the ancient city. It's a large house in a quadrangle courtyard, steeped in history and reminiscent of an ancient town. The house is immaculately clean. The owner drove us to the high-speed rail station on our way out. If you're traveling with a group and want to experience a B&B, this is highly recommended.

GGuest UserWe stayed at thos lovely hotel. Lovingly restored by the current owner Mr Wang. He is the 6th generation owner of the property.
Until 10 years ago it was a derelict and dilapidated building. He poured money, time, blood, sweat and tears to restore it
And it does feel and look like a traditional house.
You feel you are going back in time.
Firstly the customer service is way beyond the call of duty. Its so good, i would recommend staying with mr Wang at whatever hotel he runs.
He picked us at the Lower East Gate, and brought us to the hotel, then took nearly half an hour to explain in great detail where we need to visit, whether the sights be in the city or outside the city.
Some of his suggestions, not on the tour books were very good . For example he suggested 3 restaurants, and we avoided them thinking he was getting a kickback.on our 4th and last day we tried restaurant no 2 of his. And it was good , the food and service were good. The prices were average with other restaurants and we got a 10% discount being the hotel's guests. And remember we had eaten 10 meals by the time we came to his suggestions.
Another suggestion of Mr Wang was Ma family home - also a very good tip from him.
Everytime we had a request or question he always responded with enthusiasm.
On our last day we checked out at 4am and he still took us to the pick up point at that ungodly hour.
Yep Mr and Mrs Wang's customer service is just first class.
The room was large, queen deluxe double, and the furnishings were traditional chinese furniture made of Rosewood. Very Expensive furniture for a hotel room. Shower worked well and was hot. However be aware its chinese style wet floor system ie there is no shower curtain between the shower and a small part of the bathroom does get wet if youare not careful. MR Wang said it will be one his improvement on his priority list. Hopefully by the time you booked the problem will have been resolved
The hotel is very close to the main streets. About 5 min walk.
The city of pingyao is worth visiting, it is one of the very walled cities left in China, with its old buildings intact and people still living it. All the city walls are also intact. Magnificent at night.

GGuest UserThe hotel is located in Pingyao's Old City, very close to the Ancient Government tourist landmark. I found the level of service outstanding. Even though there was a language barrier they were always eager to help. I liked the courtyard and in the room I felt like I was sleeping in one of the museums I visited in Pingyao. Additional perks include free laundry and free transport to the train station. As a drawback, the wifi connection didn't work well for me. To sum up excellent value for money.

@@lianggeOn the first and second day of the first ***** month of 2024, I came to the ancient city of Pingyao, Shanxi, and stayed at the Guangxianyuan Inn, an ancient city residence. The B&B is located near the city gate of North Street. Parking is convenient, and the surrounding environment is okay. It has Ming and Qing architectural styles, and the boss’s service attitude Very good, convenient for dining, and the overall feeling is okay. The main thing is to experience the feeling of the ancient city!

JJacobThis place has very high value for money. The owners are sweet and caring, and the rooms are basic but have everything you need. There's a little quiet courtyard to hang out in. While it's in the outskirts of the ancient city, it's still within the walls. This part of the ancient city is much quieter than the center, which has its benefits, and it's still a short walk to the attractions. Furthermore it's very easy to get to and from other locations with bus/taxi as it's very close to the roads just outside the wall.

GGuest UserI went there on the second day of the ***** New Year. Hotels and B&Bs in the scenic area were too expensive. I booked the boss’ B&B online. It was pretty good, but the location was a bit out of the way. I booked a double bed room with my brother, and the boss gave me an extra bed. Quilt
