Pingyao County Hotels with Balcony

The whole family with the elderly and children stayed in Qichen, and the experience exceeded expectations! The courtyard is spacious and safe, the children can run freely, the room space is sufficient, the bed is comfortable to sleep, the hygiene is particularly in place, and the elderly are very satisfied. The housekeeper prepared fruit intimately, took the initiative to help carry large luggage, planned the easy parent-child play route in detail, and avoided the crowded crowd. The homestay is quiet and not noisy, the quality of rest is very good, not far from the ancient city attractions, and travel is labor-saving. The whole is warm and homey, the whole family likes it very much, and the first choice for family travel is Qichen Boutique B&B!

This distinctive Jin merchant courtyard was a special experience we wanted for our child. Our room, with its small attic, surprisingly had three 1.8-meter beds including the downstairs one, which is perfect for family travel. The owners are really lovely; they helped us with our luggage at the entrance and gave us directions to avoid any pitfalls. They even gave us two bottles of vinegar when we left – absolutely fantastic! 👍

This hotel is located in a clean alley, just a five-minute walk from the Confucius Temple and the City God Temple. The room was exceptionally clean, the bedding was very comfortable, and the room itself was quite spacious. The courtyard has a charming, ancient feel – tranquil and elegant, and it's also very close to Yingxun Gate. The owner's service was outstanding; after we watched the light show in the evening, they picked us up and brought us back to the hotel, and even provided a ride to Pingyao Ancient City Station. They were incredibly helpful and the owner/driver was very enthusiastic, always trying their best to accommodate any requests we had. I will definitely book here again on my next visit.

The service here definitely deserves a full five stars! From the lovely ladies at the front desk to the shuttle drivers, everyone was incredibly helpful. They confirmed our itinerary and transportation in advance, arranged parking, checked if our car needed charging (whether it was gas or electric), confirmed our arrival time, provided full pick-up and drop-off service, helped us get seated at popular restaurants, even got us discounts, and were always quick to respond. This is honestly the most attentive service I've ever experienced at a B&B! The room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped, and the courtyard was perfect for taking photos. The guesthouse is very close to the main street but still tucked away and quiet. Overall, I'm very satisfied. The only thing they could improve upon is the breakfast.

Very good experience. The owners are friendly and provide pick up at the gate entrance. Pretty courtyard and the owners shared a lot of information on where to eat / shop at. Would definitely recommend this guesthouse to those wanting to visit Pingyao.

The rooms are elegantly antique, nestled within a traditional three-courtyard complex. Its location is superb, very close to the bustling commercial center. The service is excellent, offering convenient pick-up and drop-off. On the day I left for the high-speed rail, at 6:10 AM, the owner had already arranged a car for me. They also offer professional photography services right on-site.

We enjoyed an absolutely fabulous three-day stay at Jing's Residence. The building itself is a very nicely modernized Qing-era building. We've stayed in some similarly ages buildings in Europe and this was right up with the nicest of them. The spaces look very similar to the ones in the museums in town, albeit with bathrooms and more comfortable furnishings. The service was absolutely impeccable. Our room was constantly restocked with complementary drinks and baked goods, and the front desk staff (Crystal and Leo) was helpful with everything from restaurant recommendations to transportation to the train station to us mixing up our departure date (whoops). All staff spoke great English. Afternoon tea was a particularly nice touch: no fee, great service, and a very relaxing atmosphere. Food was light Chinese snacks, not the huge spread of a British-style high tea. Breakfast was a similar relaxing experience. We tried all the of the Chinese-style options and they were all excellent. We did not try the Western-style options. Dinner was a set menu, shown to us in the morning before making the reservation. It was a combination of Western dishes and local Pingyao/Shanxi food. If given the choice we would have preferred purely Chinese food, but it was all very good and honestly the change of peace was probably good-- getting a salad was nice after two weeks in China. The Pingyao Beef was the highlight: big cubes of high quality meat, easily my favorite of the three places we had this dish. The bar had a nice selection of Western wines, Scotch, etc, but I was disappointed to not see any local rice wine or Baiji. Air conditioning worked very well in our room, easily getting the temperature down under 20C even at midday on ＞30C days. Overall I really can't recommend this place enough: this hotel was really a highlight of our trip.

Facilities: Well-equipped Cleanliness: Always cleaned and very tidy Ambiance: Absolutely stunning for a historical visit. This is a centuries-old inn, with seven courtyards deep. Being here felt like stepping back into the glorious era when Jin merchants thrived. Service: Excellent. There are two incredibly cute kittens in the courtyard that my son absolutely adored. The owner even provided toys for playing with them. When we weren't out exploring, my son spent his time in the courtyard playing with the cats and had a wonderful time.

They even have 'kang' (heated bed) rooms for a unique Jinnese residential experience. 2. **Thoughtful Service for Drivers:** Since motor vehicles aren't allowed in the ancient city, guests park in the public lot outside the North Gate. Staff come to pick you up and help with luggage, which is a huge plus for those traveling with seniors or a lot of bags. 3. **Comprehensive Amenities:** Breakfast is provided, and there's a small noodle shop within the courtyard. Some rooms on the second floor offer night views of the ancient city's rooftops. They can also connect you with traditional style photography services at a discount. 24-hour hot water and air conditioning are standard. 4. **Good Service Reputation:** The housekeeper offers travel advice, luggage storage is available, and guests receive a small souvenir upon departure. It's a popular choice for families and those traveling with children.

The Xinghuacun Hotel boasts an excellent location right in the heart of Pingyao Ancient City, directly across from the county government office. A right turn out of the hotel brings you to the bustling South Street, where all the major attractions are located. The rooms are incredibly spacious and feature double sinks. They're also super cool; we didn't even need to use the AC at night, making for a very comfortable sleep. The abalone millet porridge at breakfast was delicious, and the pour-over latte coffee was just as good as what you'd find in a coffee shop. The mini-fridge was stocked with various complimentary beverages, and all the bottled water was Baishui Mountain brand. What surprised us most was the complimentary fruit delivered every afternoon, and a thoughtful farewell gift upon check-out. The service truly was superb! 👍 Highly recommended!
