HHannah WyeHotel is clean and comfortable. Customer Service is good and helpful. Breakfast is included. I arrived earlier and the room already prepared well. And so then they give me paper map for travel instruction, it is so easier for me to walk around in the old town.
Hotel also have crossover with some famous restaurants (approx. 7 mins walk distance from hotel) for 10% discount.
Bed is comfy and with aircon (cold or warm), I really have a good rest in the night.

JJerryb10421This establishment is fantastic. Rooms clean and upgraded, staff extremely accommodating and friendly. It has the perfect location to start to explore the town and is very close to where the nightly light show is, so an easy walk back to your room.
The morning breakfast is fresh made, and more than enough food to fill you up for your day of exploration.
They offer pick-up and drop-off to the train station for free.
I can not express enough how hospitable the staff is and they make your stay special.

The traditional architecture gives the place a unique charm. The room was clean, and the hot showers were great. The host was friendly, helpful, and fluent in English. She very resourceful! I also met some awesome fellow backpackers. Everything about this hostel is super chill. And what other hostel lets you check in from 8? Highly recommend!

RRainer WWe traveled as a family of five to Pingyao and stayed three nights at the Jinxuan hotel. The stay was an absolute delight, the hosts are extremely friendly and helpful with everything. They picked us up from the train station which made it very easy to find a place.
Jinxuan it’s located in the very heart of Pingyao and everything is easy to reach on foot. The facilities are simple and clean, the rooms are located in a very quiet patio of one of the traditional houses in in Pingyao. We stayed in a duplex room that offered lots of space for a family. The breakfast is traditional Chinese and the hosts spoiled us on the last day with some homegrown corn and tomatoes. If you’re looking for an authentic experience, we can absolutely recommend this place.

GGuest UserExcellent and friendly reception when we arrived at the hotel. We only had one and half days to tour pingyao and the hotel staff were very helpful in recommending a half day guided tour with buggy transport to various sites in Pingyao Guchen. They also helped us to link up with a tour agency to book a day tour to Wang Jia Da Yuan and Hukou waterfall. The staff helped us to book tickets to the show，又见平遥， and shuttled us to the venue after the half day tour. Because of their excellent recommendations and service, we managed to enjoy the sights and culture of Pingyao within one and half days.
The hotel is in a beautiful traditional courtyard. Newly renovated. The room is very clean with modern amenities. Beds are comfortable. Breakfast is hearty.
We also love the free transfer from high speed rail station to hotel and return. Highly recommended!

VVivian_RexThe guesthouse offers excellent value for money! Upon check-in, they provided a car pick-up service from near Xiamen (West Gate) directly to the guesthouse. It's centrally located within the ancient city, making it incredibly convenient for exploring. The facilities are quite new, and the rooms are spotless. Guests also receive a discount when dining at the guesthouse's restaurant. The owner's wife even informed us about special package deals for the ancient city and Shuanglin Temple. It's a spacious property, and when my parents got a bit lost and went to the wrong room, the front desk staff patiently escorted them without any fuss. On a hot day, when I asked the front desk for a bottle of water before heading out, they immediately gave us several bottles to take with us, all with a warm smile – truly thoughtful service. Upon check-out, everyone received a complimentary bottle of delicious local vinegar. With such fantastic service and incredible value, I can't recommend this place enough to family and friends.

AAnonymous UserThe owner and their family were incredibly kind, thoughtful, and attentive. After we took a taxi from the high-speed train station to the city gate, they drove a small electric cart to pick up our luggage (as passengers aren't allowed to ride inside the ancient city). Throughout our stay, they patiently answered any questions we had, many of which weren't even about the accommodation. When it was time to leave, concerned we might miss our train, they not only helped us with our luggage but also hailed a taxi, loaded our bags, and waited for us to get in. As we were traveling with two young children, the owner kept reminding us not to rush, saying that if we could catch the train, great, but if not, it was fine – safety was the priority! After we'd left, the owner even called us, timing it just right, to check on how we were doing. Although our stay in Pingyao was less than 24 hours, we were profoundly touched by their immense warmth. We'll definitely be back next time to truly soak in the experience!

GGuest UserTraditional inn style hotel, just as you enter the old city. I stayed in a typical stone bed with futon mattress, initially I was stressed I cannot sleep.well but it was perfect. Another plus is the heated japanese style toilet and the breakfast across the street at two local ladies. Cannot get more authentic than this. They offer free driving to the railway station (high speed in my case), which it came as a pleasant surprise as I was not aware of. Highly recommend for simple, authentic local experience 🙂

JJeffery.truongThe ancient city Pingyao and the Yundingxuan hotel blowed our mind. The hotel provide free pickup from the train station. We took the high speed train arrived at Pingyaocheng station which is around 15 minutes away from the ancient city. When you enter the city wall gate, you will be amazed of the narrow streets and cobblestone road. Picked Yundingxuan hotel because it was closed to the North gate so
If the taxi was to dropped us off it’ll be a short walk but the driver dropped us off near the hotel because cars are not allowed within the main streets.
The hotel is closed to 200 years old and have characteristics of the Ming and Qing dynasties. I was born in Vietnam,
With roots to China but raised up in the US since I was 7 years old. I’ve seen Chinese movies but nothing will prepare you to the hotel and the ancient city. I was surprised how big the hotel complex was. All the staff were very nice, the main host spoke English, and the breakfasts were traditional Chinese breakfast. We stayed two nights and we felt safe throughout our visit. My wife and daughter appreciated the three hotel cats and all the felines throughout the city.
I’m sure the other hotels are fantastic and will give your a unique experience but I can vouch for Yundingxuan. Just be prepared to get out your comfort zone but be amazed by the visual and taste of Pingyao Ancient City.

KKewei·mengshengThe hotel is about 300 meters away from the South Street in the center of the ancient city. It is quite convenient to walk through the alley. The weather changed on the day we came, about minus 15 degrees. The hotel owner picked us up from the parking lot outside the city in a tricycle and sent us there when we left. We were given makeup and photography. Breakfast is next door, which is quite good. There are flower rolls, porridge, pickles, eggs, and fried potato shreds. The flower rolls are steamed by yourself, which are delicious and filling. Pingyao Ancient City is an ancient city that was developed earlier. It is famous, but disappointing. The management of the entire ancient city is relatively chaotic, the hygiene is not optimistic, and most of the houses are shabby, and some are even dangerous. It is very unreasonable to set the light show at 9 o'clock in the evening, and the South City Gate is closed. If you want to watch it, you need to go around a long circle in the cold wind.
