"The courtyard is elegant and quiet, with excellent facilities, including a large bathtub. The owner's service was superb, always accommodating and providing complimentary fruit, a minibar, and disposable toiletries. The hygiene was also impeccable. GGuest UserOur stay was absolutely fantastic! The amenities and the butler service were top-notch, truly exceptional. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Pingyao Ancient City.
1. They provide high-quality toiletries from Le Labo, mouthwash from Appelles, and a Dyson hairdryer â truly premium personal care products.
2. Since it was the off-season, the hotel upgraded our room. And due to an unforeseen issue on the first night, they upgraded our room again, showing their excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Upon check-in, they immediately offered food recommendations and a travel guide.
3. Every afternoon, we received a delightful delivery of fresh fruit, selected snacks, and a heartwarming sweet soup. It was a lovely touch that made us feel very cared for. Plus, breakfast could be delivered to our room to enjoy at our leisure.
Overall, this was an absolutely amazing stay!

The hotel is convenient to go anywhere next to the ancient city. There are snack streets next to various restaurants to eat. The hotel service staff are also good. Everything is in place. Give me a good experience, and then Pingyao will live in his house! ! !

GGuest UserThe quaint courtyard was truly worth the trip. The owner was incredibly thoughtful, contacting us a day in advance to provide parking information and even turning on the air conditioning in our room beforehand â more considerate than I expected. Because we got carried away sightseeing, it was already dark when we arrived in Pingyao. Luckily, the owner had sent someone to wait for us along the parking lot route, otherwise we might have missed our stop. The hotel's location is very convenient, easily accessible from West Street and South Street. The breakfast was also excellent and definitely worth trying. Oh, and the owner even upgraded us to a cave dwelling room and gave us a discount coupon â thank you! I felt that the businesses I encountered in Pingyao were all very friendly and had excellent service. Highly recommended!

GgrapeaiI had an incredibly pleasant surprise staying at a guesthouse in Pingyao Ancient City! It's been converted from a hundred-year-old traditional house, and the bricks, tiles, and carved wooden windows all exude an ancient charm. The pomegranate tree at the entrance to the courtyard and the stone table with enamel bowls inside create such a wonderful ambiance. The guesthouse also has its own restaurant, serving up authentic Pingyao flavors. It was a comfortable stay with a genuine local vibe!

GGuest UserAfter visiting Zhenguo Temple and Shuanglin Temple, the only reason I planned to stay overnight in Pingyao Ancient City was to stay at the Jia Inn.
The innkeeper contacted me in advance via phone and WeChat, and arranged for a shuttle bus to and from the parking lot near the city wall. The innkeeper, a lovely young lady, greeted me warmly at the inn entrance and introduced the inn.
I stayed in the âLegendâ single room, perhaps inspired by Zhao Tao's solitary journey through Shanghai in the novel âLegend of the Sea.â The single bed against the wall was small and comfortable, and there was a welcome card on the table, along with some local seasonal fruits and vinegar cakes. Director Jia's books are available for reading freely from the lobby to the rooms.
In the afternoon, I went to the reading café on the second-floor balcony, enjoying the quiet solitude separated from the hustle and bustle of the street by a wall.
The innkeeper welcomes even guests not staying there to come in, take photos, visit, or use the restrooms, further enhancing the inn's ambiance.
In the evening, instead of watching the popular light show or cultural performances in Pingyao, the housekeeper showed me Jia's film âPlatform,â which was filmed in Fenyang more than 20 years ago, in the inn's underground restaurant called âPlatform.â Revisiting the scenes of Cui Mingliang and Ruijuan on the ancient city wall of Pingyao felt much more fitting.
Breakfast was also at âPlatform,â with a mix of Chinese and Western dishes. I ate my fill, and at the end, the housekeeper brought me a small bowl of dumplings, saying, âTraditionally, dumplings are eaten before boarding, and noodles upon arrival,â which added a touch of warmth.
Seeing my keen interest in film, the housekeeper gifted me a copy of âJia Xiang IIâ and even gave me a bag of bottled water and oranges for my journey.
Even compared to the century-old restaurants I've stayed at in Kyoto, the experience at Jia Inn was like a warming cup of Fenjiu liquor, leaving a lingering aftertaste and giving me a âkeyâ to always return to âjia.â
I would definitely come back; highly recommended.

ZzhlcocoChengjia Old Home is a typical Shanxi house style, with a quiet environment amidst the hustle and bustle, quiet but not far from the commercial street. The room is carefully decorated and clean. The service is responsive and considerate, and the pick-up and drop-off services are in place. A very satisfying stay experience. The only thing that needs improvement is that the breakfast can have more variety.

GGuest UserPingyao Yundingxuan truly exceeded our expectations! This ancient courtyard, a former Shanxi merchant's residence, has an incredible atmosphere, perfect for amazing photos. The location is superb, right on West Street in the heart of the old town, within walking distance of 'Impression Pingyao' and all major attractions â super convenient for sightseeing and dining.
The hotel offers free pickup and drop-off at the city gate, helps with luggage, and provides thoughtful and attentive service. They patiently explained sightseeing routes and even assisted with discounted bookings for 'Impression Pingyao' tickets, saving us time and effort.
The rooms are clean and tidy, with soft and comfortable bedding. The courtyard is quiet and tranquil, making it a very reassuring stay for both elderly guests and children. The amenities are comprehensive, and the breakfast is authentic. It offers incredible value for money. It's definitely the top choice for family trips to Pingyao. Highly recommended; we'll definitely stay here again next time we visit Pingyao.

VVAYangExcellent location with a nice intro buffet dinner for local cuisine and breakfast included. Next to an important Taoist shrine and provision shops. Also within 5-10 min walk from the âNew East Gateâ which is important if you want to take a taxi for sights outside the walled city. Note outside vehicles are not allowed to get into the walled city. Extremely helpful staff and the high speed rail station to hotel transfer service is much appreciated especially since outside taxi cannot get into the hotel location. We speak mandarin and found the ancient city tour guides well worth the money. Look for the guides with the standardised purple windbreakers in winter. Standardised price but worth every cent. Glad my family took the detour to Ping Yao

GGuest UserOur stay at Xinghuacun Inn was excellent! Since we were traveling with elderly family members, they upgraded us to a suite, which saved us the hassle of going up and down stairs. Overall, it was a comfortable and pleasant experience. The inn's accommodations were clean and tidy, the room decor was elegant and cozy, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and it was wonderfully quiet, making for an outstanding rest.
The staff were warm, thoughtful, friendly, and polite. Their service was meticulous and attentive, responding promptly to any request. They were genuinely reliable and made us feel truly welcome.
The restaurant's food was authentic and delicious, with fresh and substantial ingredients. The dishes were abundant, tasty, and full of flavor. From the accommodations and attentive service to the specialty meals, everything was well-arranged and served perfectly. It offers incredible value for money and is our top choice for travel accommodations. Highly recommended!
