4-Star Hotels in Pingyao County

This hotel is so cool people were taking pictures of it from the outside. There are many small museums in Pingyao that have the same sort of classic layout, but none of them are as well preserved and beautiful. Our room was very nice and quite comfortable, the staff was friendly and extremely helpful. The location is right in the center of town and in the heart of the main walking area. They also managed our transfer to and from the airport at no charge and the process was flawless. The breakfast was delicious and generous with things for every taste. I don't know if I'll be back to Pingyao, but if I ever return I will certainly stay here.

I've traveled quite a bit both domestically and internationally, but this is my first time staying at a guesthouse that offers Mercedes-Benz pickup and drop-off. The room and the entire property have a strong local ethnic charm. The guesthouse's overall decor is striking, making you feel like you're on a movie set. The warm and genuine hospitality from the owners left a lasting impression. Pingyao Ancient City + Shanlan Guesthouse = perfection.

First off, the location is fantastic, right inside the ancient town. It's a century-old Jin merchant courtyard. Secondly, the guesthouse owner was incredibly welcoming! Not only did he upgrade my room, but he also gave me complimentary breakfast and fruit. Finally, when I was checking out, I wanted to buy some vinegar to take home, and the owner just gave it to me for free! I'll definitely stay here again if I get the chance, and I'll recommend it to all my friends!

When choosing a B&B, I prioritize room size and location. ✔️ This B&B is near Xiaonanmen, and it's not a long walk to get there. Plus, they offer pick-up and drop-off service, with a staff member carrying luggage, so you don't have to lift a finger – truly great for those traveling with kids. Even better, they provide pick-up and drop-off from Pingyao High-Speed Rail Station, saving you the hassle of finding a taxi yourself. The B&B is right next to a pedestrian street, which is very convenient. ✔️ The environment is lovely. It's a two-story courtyard house with many flowers and plants in the central patio, creating a natural oasis. There are also common areas with sofas, swing chairs, and a coffee bar, making it enjoyable even if you don't go out. ✔️ Our reserved room was on the second floor, right next to the pedestrian street. The room layout is quite good; although it's an open plan, there's a sheer curtain as a divider, which prevents the bed from facing the bathing area directly. I particularly liked the sofa and tea area near the entrance. ✔️ Breakfast is served individually, with a good variety, and it's quite filling for adults. ✔️ Upon check-in, the front desk provides a map of the ancient town, highlighting key attractions, how to get there, how long it takes, and performance times. They also recommended two popular restaurants and gave us discount coupons. The Pingyao beef was indeed delicious. ✔️ Highly recommended.

The hotel is located just within the old town after the north gate. The hotel is well decorated with a beautiful garden. The hotel room was clean and spacious. The hotel staff are superb friendly and helpful. In one of the nights in 平遥古城, I had left a shop without my haversack after my meal at the old town. I only recalled about my haversack when I returned to the hotel. Immediately, I reported the incident to the hotel staff. Without hesitation, the hotel staff 小武 brought me back to the said shop with his own bike in a cold weather. Although we managed to locate the shop, however, it had already closed for business and there was no people in the shop. It was nearly midnight at that time . Even though i didn’t manage to recover my haversack (cuz i needed to leave the town to another destination early in that morning), I sincerely appreciate 小武 for helping me to find my haversack. He also suggested to me to lodge a Police report so that my lost item could be recovered by mailing it back to my hometown. It was a good idea but I didn’t do it cuz the belongings in the bag were not valuable and nothing important. Once again , I really want to thank 小武 for his patience and service rendered to me. The facilities are all smart, and the environment is elegant and comfortable. It's a quiet oasis in a bustling area. The service is excellent, and they even offer golf cart transfers to the ancient city gate, which is a very thoughtful and convenient touch. It was a great experience.

My friend booked this hotel, and when they came back, they raved about how great it was! The service was top-notch, all the staff were incredibly welcoming, and the room was spotlessly clean and tidy. The breakfast spread was also excellent with delicious food! The Chinese-style decor was lovely, and the room itself was very spacious. Plus, they even offer a pick-up and drop-off service to the station, which is quite rare for a hotel at this price point, especially in a tourist city. Highly recommended!

🛎️ Front desk service was incredibly warm and welcoming. The gentle smile from the front desk lady as soon as I walked in was so refreshing ✨. The service was very enthusiastic. 🛏️ Room experience was perfect! The twin room I booked was super spacious. The bedding was clean and comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep 💤. The bathroom was spotless and large, with a separate wet and dry area 🚿. 🧺 Highly recommend the laundry service. You can do self-service laundry 24/7, and it's super fast! 🍽️ So many breakfast choices, it was hard to pick! 🤩 The special knife-cut noodles are a must-try – the sauce was incredibly flavorful 🍜. 📍 The location is great, only a 5-minute drive to Pingyao Ancient City.

The location is excellent. It's right in the center of Goseong, making it a great base for exploring the city. Starting from the center, you can easily explore all directions and then back to the center, making it a great location. It's my first time at Pingyao District Office, so it's a bit tricky to judge the hotel facilities. However, the room is modern and well-appointed. The bed was clean and the mattress was adequately comfortable. The bathroom has good hot water. While the cleanliness is a bit lacking, the kindness of the owner and staff makes up for it. Boss!!! I had a great stay and had a great time.

Facilities: Well-equipped Cleanliness: Always cleaned and very tidy Ambiance: Absolutely stunning for a historical visit. This is a centuries-old inn, with seven courtyards deep. Being here felt like stepping back into the glorious era when Jin merchants thrived. Service: Excellent. There are two incredibly cute kittens in the courtyard that my son absolutely adored. The owner even provided toys for playing with them. When we weren't out exploring, my son spent his time in the courtyard playing with the cats and had a wonderful time.
