"I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel in Pingyao. The location, right inside the old city walls, was perfect for exploring the ancient town on foot and it was very quiet in the evening, ideal for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and nicely heated, which was especially important given the cold temperatures outside. A special mention goes to the owner and his wife for the excellent pick-up service from the train station, which made my arrival smooth and stress-free."

"Butler service: Ningning butler was very considerate to pick us up, guided us to park, helped us find a parking space in advance, and arranged a shuttle bus to take our luggage. The return trip was also considerate service throughout the whole journey, and the pick-up and drop-off were particularly in place. Thank you very much for their enthusiastic service. The restaurant they run, noodles, hot stir-fry, are also pretty good and delicious. If you like local specialties, you can order more hot stir-fry to try, really like it 👍👍👍👍 Round-trip pick-up and drop-off in the ancient city"

"This guesthouse is truly a hidden gem! The owner is a collector, and his wife is a non-heritage inheritor of Pingyao lacquerware. The guesthouse is filled with her exquisite lacquer artworks. We booked the Republic of China style suite, and it was absolutely stunning. Every detail was meticulously crafted, the room facilities were excellent, and both the bedding and toiletries were very satisfying. The service was incredibly warm and attentive, from the pick-up at the station to the full concierge service throughout our stay – super thoughtful. The breakfast was generous, and the best part was that there were no pre-made foods; it was well-balanced and nutritious. The freshly made wontons were delicious and beautifully presented. It's a shame we only stayed one night; next time, we'll definitely stay longer to experience the owner's wife's non-heritage craft workshop."
