The owners are a very welcoming couple; they picked us up from the parking lot and even recommended local attractions. The breakfast is also very generous, and the steamed mini-buns were delicious."

It is a small hotel operating like a guest house and we were welcomed (in English) and totally cared for: delicious treats on demand, recommendations for restaurants and sight seeing, organisation of transfers and guide/driver. We were even treated some art workshop. All with consideration and smiles.10/10, highly recommended!"

The front desk provided a space heater, which helped a little, but it was still quite cold. Breakfast in the morning was also freezing. The room felt damp and chilly, which was really hard to accept. Also, breakfast wasn't tasty."

The room was clean and well-maintained, though a bit small. It has an antique Chinese architectural style, with each courtyard consisting of two floors. You can enjoy the scenery from the second-floor corridor."

Exquisite chandeliers and artistic ornaments catch your eye, with every detail showcasing impeccable taste and style. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and attentive; the check-in process was efficient and quick. They even thoughtfully provided information about the hotel's facilities and local attractions, which made me feel incredibly welcome. The guest room was even more delightful. Spacious and bright, it featured a minimalist yet stylish decor, making it feel very cozy and comfortable. The bed was wonderfully soft, with a perfectly balanced mattress and high-quality linens, guaranteeing a perfect night's sleep. The room was fully equipped with all the necessary amenities, and the smart devices were easy to use. The large LCD TV and fast, stable Wi-Fi met both my work and entertainment needs. The bathroom featured a wet/dry separation, and the well-known brand toiletries exuded a subtle, pleasant fragrance. The bathtub was spotlessly clean, and soaking in it while enjoying the view outside was utterly delightful. The hotel's dining options were also highly commendable. Breakfast offered a rich and diverse selection, with everything from Chinese hot congee, steamed buns, and Youtiao, to Western bread, coffee, and fried eggs. The ingredients were fresh, and the flavors delicious, catering to all guests' preferences. Moreover, the restaurant's ambiance was elegant, and the staff were always readily available, making the dining experience thoroughly enjoyable. The hotel's recreational facilities were also very comprehensive. The gym was fully equipped to meet all daily workout needs, and the heated swimming pool, with its crystal-clear water, offered an incredibly relaxing swim for both body and mind. Xieshengchang truly excelled in terms of service, facilities, and ambiance, making it an excellent choice for both business trips and leisure getaways. I eagerly anticipate my next opportunity to stay here and once again experience its thoughtful care and wonderful atmosphere."

"We enjoyed staying in this rustic old courtyard house. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect as it is next to the west city wall and gate, a more quiet part of the ancient city while still walkable to the main latern streets and attractions. Hiring an electric bike from the hotel was one of the highlighs of our stay, we were able to explore the far east, south and north part of the city in the summer breeze. The room was very comfortable, especially sleeping on the kang bed. The only cons was our room was next to the public toilet, hence less privacy and at times we could smell the toilet when the toilet door was left opened. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this unique place and will return to stay in future but in another room. The English breakfast was a wonderful addition to our stay."

The hotel is newly renovated, with tasteful decorations that blend traditional character with a fresh, comfortable atmosphere. What impressed me the most was the owner. He is incredibly friendly, warm, and genuinely helpful, his service goes far beyond expectations. From the moment I arrived, I felt well taken care of, and his sincerity really made the stay special. Location is superb! The room was spotless, one of the cleanest I’ve experienced. I actually walked around and looked at a few other motels in Pingyao, and I can confidently say this one stands out as the best in terms of cleanliness, comfort, and overall quality. On top of all that, the price is very reasonable for what you get. It’s rare to find a place that offers such great value together with such heartfelt hospitality. Highly, highly recommended , I would definitely stay here again."
