"The B&B is close to the North Gate, so it was pretty easy to find. The owner even picked me up from Pingyao Ancient City Station late at night, which I really appreciated – it made my travel experience so much better. They carefully explained the locations of attractions and gave me a map. When I left, they even gave me some vinegar as a gift; they're incredibly warm and welcoming. Seriously, if you're coming to Pingyao, you should definitely stay here, haha! It's safe, clean, and the facilities are all there. For longer stays, they even proactively clean your room. The decor has a local flair too – who wouldn't want to try sleeping on a traditional heated 'kang' bed without any fuss? Thanks for everything, I'll definitely stay here again next time. Loved it, loved it!"

"It is a privilege and thrill to stay in the ancient city of Pingyao. The Jinxuan Hotel is such a great find. It is in a beautiful old courtyard building not far from the South Gate entrance. It is simple and authentic but has many up to date conveniences. The room was huge with gorgeous high raftered ceilings and a 4 post bed. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The best part of the stay was our gracious hosts. They gave us so much help and good information and were available whenever we needed."

"This guesthouse has a lovely ambiance and character. The owner even provided a complimentary shuttle service to and from the train station, which was great. We had originally booked a suite, but as it wasn't ready when we arrived, the owner proactively and generously upgraded us to their best room. The room was spacious and clean, and the bedding was very comfortable. The location is excellent – it's quiet yet conveniently located, just a short walk from a bustling and lively street. Plus, my kids absolutely loved the owner's dog and cat. We'll definitely choose to stay here again on our next visit."

"The B&B has an excellent location, right within the pedestrian street. Food, drinks, and entertainment are all nearby, which is very convenient. The front is a storefront, and the back is a courtyard with a beautifully decorated night view. The room isn't huge, but there's an umbrella outside with three chairs and a table, perfect for eating or chatting. The small courtyard is enclosed, so even though it's on the first floor, you don't feel a lack of privacy. Everything is well-equipped, and the service attitude is great. The only downside was the smell of smoke. It got much better after opening the doors and windows to air it out, but it returned after closing them at night. Since we checked in at 11 PM, we didn't bother contacting the front desk. I hope they can improve this. They kindly gave us some local specialty vinegar and pastries, which was a nice touch. Due to time constraints, we didn't get to try on the ancient costumes, but we plan to come back and do it next time. Parking for cars is outside the city gate and costs 20 yuan for the night. Electric vehicle charging is a bit far away, so plan ahead for that. The guided tour and electric cart ride cost 120 yuan, which I honestly think is completely unnecessary – consider this a heads-up to avoid that expense! Pingyao Ancient City is definitely worth experiencing, and this B&B is also highly recommended."

"This guesthouse is located right inside Pingyao Ancient City, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the city's attractions and enjoying local cuisine. We arrived at Pingyao Ancient City Station by high-speed train, and the guesthouse offered a pickup service from there, which saved us a lot of hassle. The room was clean and tidy, with underfloor heating throughout, as well as an air conditioner. You could walk around barefoot without getting cold. The bed was a large, comfortable 'kang' bed, a local specialty. The building itself is over 300 years old and a protected heritage site, so staying here offers a unique experience and a connection to historical relics. The guesthouse owner was very approachable and friendly. They enthusiastically introduced us to the city's sights, helped us plan our itinerary, and gave us many helpful tips. They also warned us about certain people to avoid in the city – it's always reassuring to have local insights when traveling. We were truly grateful! The recommended dining spots were also affordable and delicious. We look forward to visiting again!"

"I had a truly wonderful stay at this charming courtyard hotel in Pingyao, a perfect 10/10 experience. Although it’s a small property with only about 6–8 rooms, everything about it feels thoughtfully done and beautifully presented. The hotel is newly renovated, with tasteful decorations that blend traditional character with a fresh, comfortable atmosphere. What impressed me the most was the owner. He is incredibly friendly, warm, and genuinely helpful, his service goes far beyond expectations. From the moment I arrived, I felt well taken care of, and his sincerity really made the stay special. Location is superb! The room was spotless,  one of the cleanest I’ve experienced. I actually walked around and looked at a few other motels in Pingyao, and I can confidently say this one stands out as the best in terms of cleanliness, comfort, and overall quality. On top of all that, the price is very reasonable for what you get. It’s rare to find a place that offers such great value together with such heartfelt hospitality. Highly, highly recommended ,  I would definitely stay here again."

"💯 hotel! The service was incredibly warm and welcoming. The room was well-located, with new facilities, and they even offered free shuttle service to and from the station. Service: Superb, very enthusiastic. We received complimentary fruit upon arrival and a small souvenir when checking out. They offer free station pickup in a business car if you book one day in advance. Location: Right at the northwest corner of the ancient city, making it convenient to walk to the old town. Facilities: Very new and easy to use."

"We truly enjoyed our stay at this property, which is conveniently located in the heart of Pingyao, right next to the entrance to the walking streets. The staff was extremely kind and even allowed us an early check-in. The round-trip transfer from the train station was also very convenient and perfectly on time. We chose a tatami room and were not disappointed. The mattress was comfortable, and there was even a tea table and plenty of bottled water. They also gave us a small gift when we checked out, which was a lovely touch. We would definitely stay here again! One small suggestion for improvement would be allowing the TV language to be changed to English and perhaps installing a chrome cast/apple tv on the TV so international guests could mirror their phones."

"Awesome! 👍🏻 We arrived late by high-speed train, and the owner drove directly to the station to pick us up. All the restaurants in the ancient city were closed, so the owner lent us his electric tricycle to go eat outside the city. Riding that little vehicle through the ancient city at night was truly a special experience, haha. As for the room, it had everything we needed, and the underfloor heating kept it very warm. The large kang bed was quite unique, and even the mouthwash cups were disposable. Since it was the off-season, the owner even upgraded our room. Although the wallpaper was a bit peeling, it didn't affect our stay at all. Moreover, right outside the inn is the owner's own travel photography studio. I'm so glad I didn't book one of those trendy shops recommended online in advance. The photo shoot here was absolutely fantastic 💖. The makeup artist was very gentle and recommended suitable hairstyles and makeup based on my face shape. I loved the photos, and there was absolutely no pressure during the selection process – completely voluntary. A perfect ancient city experience, I'll definitely recommend it to my friends!"

Every brick and stone tells a story. Every street and alley narrates tales of the past and present. Kang Qian Ji Mansion is located at No. 33, Chang Xiang Street, within the ancient city of Pingyao. It was constructed in 1838 during the reign of Emperor Daoguang of the Qing Dynasty. Currently, it is a county-level cultural heritage site. It was originally the residence of Wang Jin-ting, the manager of the Pingyao Tiancheng Heng Bank’s Hankou branch. Wang Jin-ting (1859–1938), whose full name was Quan Yi and whose courtesy name was Jin-ting, was from the village of Xi Zhang Zhao in Pingyao. In his youth, he worked in the Tiancheng Heng Bank. After the bank’s collapse, he was recommended by Lu Rongting, the governor of Guangdong and Guangxi, to serve as an assistant manager at the Guangxi Bank. In 1924, Wang Jin-ting purchased the residence at No. 33 Chang Xiang Street in Pingyao’s ancient city, which had originally been a government residence. The courtyard’s floor plan features a pair of phoenixes spreading their wings, with the phoenix facing the grain market and its tail extending over the Helaoxian Bridge, symbolizing vitality and auspiciousness. The courtyard has weathered the passage of time, and with the changes in society, it was acquired by Kang Qian Ji Catering Company in 2025. We uphold the “Deren” principle of the Jin merchants, striving to restore and maintain the original state of the courtyard. The courtyard’s brick carvings of the麒麟 delivering children symbolize the owner’s dedication to preserving the Jin merchant culture and their best wishes for the guests. The wooden carvings of the phoenix and dragon support the pillars, showcasing the courtyard’s grandeur and elegance. Additionally, we have incorporated environmental and humanistic sciences to adopt a modern, luxurious style within the rooms, equipped with smart guest control systems, custom-made bathrooms, and ergonomically designed memory foam bedding and mattresses. The mansion has been transformed into a masterpiece that seamlessly blends ancient craftsmanship with modern technology.
