I recently visited the ancient city and stayed at a truly amazing hotel. I absolutely have to recommend it to everyone!
🌆 Perfect Location: The hotel is right at the north gate of the ancient city, allowing you to explore the city as soon as you step out of the hotel. Popular attractions and food stalls are just a few minutes' walk away. This location is simply unbeatable, saving you a ton of time and energy.
👦 Superb Service: When I arrived at the north gate, the handsome front desk staff was already waiting for me. They not only helped me carry my luggage all the way to my room, but were also incredibly attentive. During check-in, they meticulously explained the room's amenities, hand-painted a food map of the surrounding area, and recommended many local specialties, which immediately helped me find my way around.
🏠 The Room and Courtyard Have an Antique Charm: Upon entering the hotel courtyard, a vibrant, ancient atmosphere washes over you. Every detail, from greenery and rockery to flowing water, exudes elegance. The room was even more surprising, with its wooden furniture and carved window lattices, it felt like a trip back to ancient times. The bed was perfectly firm, and the linens were clean and comfortable, making for a truly peaceful stay.
👘 Special Jin Dynasty Costumes for Young Lady Photography: I have to mention the hotel's Jin Dynasty Costumes for Young Lady Photography service. The costumes the hostess meticulously prepared were truly exquisite, both in fabric and workmanship, far superior to those rented on the street. The hostess herself was beautiful and welcoming. Not only did she help me choose the perfect outfit, she also did my makeup and hair herself. She was incredibly helpful during the photoshoot, so I didn't have to worry about any awkward moments. The photos I took were incredibly well-liked on my social media.
I was absolutely delighted with my stay. From the service to the ambiance, every detail was truly captivating. If you're planning a trip to the ancient city, I highly recommend this hotel; I'm sure you'll love it too!

AAnonymous UserWhat a nice courtyard and hotel, we had a great stay here! Our room was huge and full of beautiful details, a bit like living in an old Chinese palace but still being in a modern comfortable hotel room with a big comfy bed. Women in hanfu costumes come to have their pictures taken because the building is so nice. It's a bit of a walk to the happening centres but very quiet, beside the amazing city wall, not far from the west gate with restaurants (or grab an electric taxi bus). The staff was very nice and we loved a free dropoff to the station in the end, also some local vinegar that we'll enjoy over the coming months, thanks a lot! One single recommendation only, being able to order even just a very simple breakfast snack would have made it perfect!

MM447923****The guesthouse is located on Yamen Street, very close to the county government office, the Temple of Martial Arts, and the former residence of Lei Lutai. It's also convenient to visit South Street and Yingxun Gate. The rooms were clean, and the owner was very kind. It rained the day I arrived, and the owner arranged for me to be picked up from the station, which was very thoughtful. He even gave me two bottles of vinegar when I left.

RRainer WWe traveled as a family of five to Pingyao and stayed three nights at the Jinxuan hotel. The stay was an absolute delight, the hosts are extremely friendly and helpful with everything. They picked us up from the train station which made it very easy to find a place.
Jinxuan it’s located in the very heart of Pingyao and everything is easy to reach on foot. The facilities are simple and clean, the rooms are located in a very quiet patio of one of the traditional houses in in Pingyao. We stayed in a duplex room that offered lots of space for a family. The breakfast is traditional Chinese and the hosts spoiled us on the last day with some homegrown corn and tomatoes. If you’re looking for an authentic experience, we can absolutely recommend this place.

LLindayqThe guesthouse boasts an excellent location, just a short walk from South Street, East Street, and West Street, making it easy to pop back for a rest after exploring. The ambiance is elegant, steeped in the rich architectural style of a traditional Shanxi courtyard, and absolutely perfect for photography! The bathroom layout and facilities are quite good, and the biggest pleasant surprise was finding a refrigerator in the room! However, the in-room filtered water system felt a bit redundant, as most guests would still prefer bottled water. On the downside, the clothes rack's partition is rather obstructive. The strip lighting system is poorly designed, and the bathroom isn't adequately separated from the main sleeping area. This means one person showering or washing up can easily disturb another trying to sleep, and definitely warrants improvement.

AAnonymous UserThe owner and their family were incredibly kind, thoughtful, and attentive. After we took a taxi from the high-speed train station to the city gate, they drove a small electric cart to pick up our luggage (as passengers aren't allowed to ride inside the ancient city). Throughout our stay, they patiently answered any questions we had, many of which weren't even about the accommodation. When it was time to leave, concerned we might miss our train, they not only helped us with our luggage but also hailed a taxi, loaded our bags, and waited for us to get in. As we were traveling with two young children, the owner kept reminding us not to rush, saying that if we could catch the train, great, but if not, it was fine – safety was the priority! After we'd left, the owner even called us, timing it just right, to check on how we were doing. Although our stay in Pingyao was less than 24 hours, we were profoundly touched by their immense warmth. We'll definitely be back next time to truly soak in the experience!

GGuest UserElsewhere Xianya hotel really exceeded our expectations. The room was clean, quiet and equipped with all kind of amenities, the bed was super big and comfortable. The reception girls were the loveliest and gave us many recommendations and discount tickets for restaurants. On our departure day they even gave us a gift. I would recommend anyone staying here!

MM477405****The room is very clean and the sanitary conditions are very good. There are three of us living in a large kang room. The bed is very big and can be fully slept in. The interior of the inn has the atmosphere of Pingyao Ancient Town. Although the courtyard is small, it is exquisite. There are two courtyards. We lived in the second courtyard, which is relatively quiet. There is a small pavilion and swing at the door. You can drink tea and chat with your family and friends there in the summer evening, and bask in the moonlight. Hehehe, this is a nice place. experience.
This is my first time staying in a B&B like this. I have nothing to compare with, but this accommodation experience has given me confidence in B&B accommodation and I will continue to try it in the future.
The boss is very enthusiastic and will give each guest a small bottle of vinegar when he checks out. He tasted it when he came back and it tastes good. We left a thermos bottle at the hotel when we checked out. The boss called me to confirm and wanted to deliver it directly to my door. This was very impressive.

PPanPivoI must highly recommend this wonderful hotel in the historic centre of Pingyao. The hotel is really authentic, well equipped, the room was beautiful and I didn't miss anything during my stay. The owner is very nice and helpful, he was able to help me with everything. The front desk is guarded by a small, beautiful dog who gives you a proper greeting. Everything is a short walk from the hotel yet it is in a quiet area where you won't be disturbed. Not choosing this hotel for my stay would be a big mistake. Thank you very much

Tento nádherný hotel v historickém centru města Pingyao musím vřele doporučit. Hotel je opravdu autentický, dobře vybavený, pokoj byl krásný a během pobytu mi nic nechybělo. Majitel je velmi milý a ochotný, se vším mi dokázal pomoci. Recepci hlídá malý, krásný pejsek, který vás náležitě přivítá. Vše je kousek od hotelu a přitom je v klidné oblasti, kde vás nebude nikdo rušit. Nevybrat si tento hotel pro svůj pobyt by byla velká chyba. Moc děkuji
