Ibis Hotels in Shanghai

Coming to Pudong New Area to visit cultural venues like the Shanghai Museum East and Shanghai Library East, choosing to stay at this Ibis hotel was truly great value for money. It's conveniently located near Fangdian Road Station on Metro Line 9, making transportation easy. The hotel facilities are generally standard, and the service is quite warm. When checking out, the front desk even gave me a small snack pack. Downsides: I stayed on the 2nd floor this time, and perhaps because it's a lower floor, the room felt quite damp and needed some ventilation to feel comfortable. Breakfast is on the 1st floor, with the restaurant connected to the lobby. The variety of food is very limited, which could definitely be improved.

I had a good stay and I have been here before. Friendly staff. Good location close to the Hongqiao Hub. A bit far by foot from a subway station. The room was clean, had been renovated not longago, it seems. No window to the outside, which was no problem for me, and the conveniently low price reflects this. I would choose the hotel again.

Cleanliness: Very clean. Environment: Very good. Service: Very enthusiastic. Facilities: Very good. I slept very comfortably. It's very close to Shanghai Jiao Tong University's Xuhui campus, which is super convenient. There are lots of great food options and convenience stores nearby. It's also easy to get to Nanjing Road.

The room was fantastic! It blows all other hotels in the same price range out of the water. The ladies at the front desk were so welcoming and even called us in advance to confirm our late check-in, reminding us to be safe – super heartwarming. Pros: 1. The curtains are excellent at blocking out light, and it's very quiet at night. 2. The shower floor was clean, and the smart toilet was also spotless. 3. Clothes can be hung in the open wardrobe. On the other hand, you need to pick up toiletries and toothbrushes from the front desk yourself, or have the robot deliver them. The room doesn't have a main ceiling light, so if you need to do your makeup, it's best to bring your own mirror or use the bathroom. It's about a 1km walk to the subway station, so if you're traveling with luggage, be aware of that. I didn't take any room photos, and I'm not a shill.

Everything else is good — the air conditioning works well with both heating and cooling options. There are washing machines and dryers available, which is convenient. However, the dryer takes a very long time — even with a small load, it needs about 1–2 hours to fully dry. The surrounding area of the hotel is actually nice, quiet, and peaceful. Unfortunately, the noise problem exists inside the hotel itself. However, the noise is a major issue and seriously disrupts sleep. The room is not soundproof at all. It feels like housekeeping is cleaning 24 hours a day — there is noise constantly, day and night. If someone upstairs is sweeping or mopping, you can clearly hear it downstairs. The doors are automatic swing doors and they slam loudly unless you hold them. Unfortunately, almost every room lets the doors close on their own, causing loud bangs that make the walls shake. You can also hear people talking in the hallway from inside the room. Cigarette smoke keeps coming into the room from an unknown source. The smell is constant and cannot be controlled or managed at all.

Our overall stay was fantastic! The location is superb, making it easy to get around for sightseeing and dining. The room was clean and tidy, and the bedding was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a very peaceful night's sleep. The staff were warm, attentive, and quick to respond to our needs. It offers great value for money, and I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next trip.

There's a subway station and a commercial area nearby, making it very convenient for getting around, shopping, and dining. The hotel lobby has a great design, making you feel comfortable as soon as you enter. Service: I must especially commend the hotel's service! From the warm welcome at the front desk to the attentive assistance of the bellhops, every staff member was smiling and responsive. We felt right at home.
