"First review
The hotel provided exceptional service from arrival to departure. Despite our late arrival, staff greeted us outside and helped us carry our luggage. Check-in was seamless. Although we do not speak Chinese very well, everyone was patient and helpful. The room was clean and modern, offering a good view from the 17th floor. Staff always greeted us warmly upon entering and exiting the hotel.
The hotel’s location is convenient, close to the metro station, Nanjing road, and the Bund. There are many food options nearby.
Upon checking out, staff offered to store our luggage, which we appreciated.
We hope to return soon."

BBoluomamizhenniWe chose The Ritz-Carlton to celebrate our tenth wedding anniversary and were thoroughly impressed with everything. Although the hotel is a bit older, the facilities are very well maintained. We booked a Pearl Room, and the front desk assigned us a fantastic room with a direct view of the Oriental Pearl Tower – it was incredible to see it so up close! The location is also superb, right in the heart of Lujiazui, with convenient access to IFC for dining and shopping downstairs. The soundproofing in the room was excellent, ensuring a wonderfully peaceful night's sleep.
Upon checking in, we mentioned it was our anniversary. Later that evening, we found a lovely small setup in our room, along with a complimentary cake and champagne – a very thoughtful gesture! A special thank you to Jessi from Guest Services for taking such great care of our child, even preparing drawing paper and kid's amenities. After dinner, our child enjoyed a swim in the pool, while we adults relaxed with drinks at Flair in the evening.
Furthermore, while the breakfast didn't offer the widest variety I've ever seen, it was by far the most exquisite. They even peeled and sliced pomelo and oranges for you – who does that?! You absolutely must try the potstickers; they're so juicy! There was a foreign female manager who was constantly attending to guests during breakfast, proactively asking about the food and helping clear plates. All the staff had smiles on their faces – I truly loved it!

__M1595987****I specifically booked the 'Caring Baby' room type at this hotel. After a disappointing experience the night before at Aerotel Pudong, the 'Caring Baby' room at AVIC was a pleasant surprise. It had large floor-to-ceiling windows, a great floor level, and an excellent view. For aviation enthusiasts, the abundance of Hongqiao aircraft models and the sheer number of planes made it very appealing and highly recommended. The room type included breakfast for two adults and two children, plus executive lounge access. Since my older child was sixteen, the front desk even upgraded us to a 'three adults and one child' arrangement. Although the hotel opened a few years ago, it feels very clean overall, and most of the staff are quite enthusiastic.
My only slight discomfort was during lunch at the Chinese restaurant. The hostess who seated us was rather aloof and casually placed us at a table near the entrance. Later, I realized there were only three tables occupied, including ours, with the other two in private rooms. There were only two or three people at those tables, and several other private rooms were empty. For our group of four, it felt quite arbitrary how we were seated, and she didn't smile once. The waitstaff who served the food, however, were very good and quite enthusiastic.
Another minor hiccup was that I remembered the upgrade included breakfast for three adults and one child. But at breakfast, they said the room type only included breakfast for two adults and one child. They said I didn't need to pay for the older child, but I had to pay for the younger one. I figured the older child wasn't really a 'child' anymore, so I paid. However, looking back at the room type details, it should have included two adults and two children, not two adults and one child.
Overall, my impression of AVIC is very good, and it's highly recommended. I'll definitely go back if I have the chance.

AAnonymous UserFantastic! Great value for money and a good location. I really loved the room layout and decor – it felt very open and lively. They offer afternoon tea, late-night snacks, and breakfast has a long service time with a wide variety of options. The staff's service attitude was excellent and very enthusiastic.
The lobby is very comfortable, but the front desk area is a bit small and understaffed, so they can get overwhelmed.
The room cleanliness wasn't great. There were obvious water stains and even hair on the countertops.
The elevator has no air conditioning, which makes it incredibly hot and stuffy in the summer. With multiple floors, you spend a fair amount of time in there, and you're sweating by the time you get off.

WwoodpeakerBooked this hotel for the first time to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday.
1. **Bedding Surprise**: The moment we opened the door, 'Happy Birthday' written in green leaves🍃 was spread all over the bed! 🥰
2. **Thoughtful Touches**: A small chocolate cake was prepared in advance, and it was absolutely delicious! 🥰
Even more amazing was the 'indoor swimming pool' – with heated, circulating water! Two essential oil diffusers were running indoors, filling the whole room with a subtle cedarwood scent. At night, the Oriental Pearl Tower sparkled right outside the window, and soaking in the water while watching the tower lights change colors was incredibly refreshing!
Also, a special shout-out to Vicky; she even messaged us after check-out to ask about our experience! 🥰

MM452818****Before booking, I saw many reviews mentioning upgrading to a river view room for an extra fee. I was initially hesitant, but the friendly concierge at the front desk gave us a tour of the river view room, and we immediately decided to upgrade, haha! It really turned out to be worth it!!! From sunset to the Bund's lights coming on, and then to the faint light of dawn the next morning, the beauty of the Bund is truly breathtaking. Watching the cruise ships gently sail along the Huangpu River, time itself seemed to slow down...
Facilities: The room facilities are very new and the decor is very stylish, totally to my taste, fulfilling my fantasy of luxury on the Bund, haha.
Hygiene: Very clean. There's a large mirror in front of the sink, wiped spotless without any water stains. The panoramic window was also quite clean, and the mini-bar cabinet and bedside tables were all immaculate. Thumbs up!
Service: All the staff I encountered were very friendly, enthusiastic, and polite! Since many foreign tourists stay here, there was also a foreign gentleman in the lobby. He proactively helped us with our stroller and luggage, making an effort to speak Chinese with us throughout, which felt very thoughtful and warm!

DDavid ThomasAbove average breakfast buffet. In-house dining menu a bit pricey, unfortunately. I would recommend walking around the area for alternative dining options. Room was excessively hot even with the thermostat off. Was necessary to open a window to cool off the room to be able to sit comfortably without sweating.

MM52215****In the cluster of hotels in Shanghai's core area, what truly sets Pullman Shanghai Jing'an apart isn't just its 'convenience,' but its precise balance between 'frequent travel needs' and ' understated luxury and relaxation.' It's like a discerning old friend: never showy, yet always hitting the right note at every critical juncture.
The hotel's location is supremely convenient, a 'hub-level' accessibility. It's a 5-10 minute walk to Shanghai Railway Station and a 3-minute connection to the subway. Whether you're catching an early high-speed train or returning after a night out on the Bund, there's no need to rush. Yet, the moment you step into the lobby, the city's hustle and bustle fade away. The understated luxurious decor, paired with vibrant greenery, avoids excessive flair, instead using perfect lighting and a delightful aroma to instantly relax you. The most pleasant surprise is the 'granularity' of the service: the concierge can arrange shipping for forgotten items for guests who have already checked out, and the front desk service is warm and efficient. This unforced attentiveness feels warmer than standardized service.
The rooms are an example of 'practical sophistication': floor-to-ceiling windows invite the city skyline in, the bedding is soft yet supportive, and it offers both a full-sized desk for business travelers and connecting room options essential for families. Even the sofa in executive suites can be converted into an extra bed free of charge, revealing a thoughtful consideration for different guest demographics in every detail. The leisure area on the 6th floor is a hidden gem: a 28℃恒温 swimming pool with the Jing'an skyline visible through floor-to-ceiling windows. In the evening, the golden sunset reflects on the water, creating stunning, high-quality photos effortlessly. The 24-hour gym ensures exercise is never a chore.
It lacks the gimmicks of 'influencer hotels' but, through a profound understanding of the 'essence of travel and living,' it enables business travelers to be efficient and stress-free, families to be comfortable and at ease, and solo travelers to find a sense of relaxation. In Jing'an, where every inch of land is precious, a hotel that 'understands needs and offers warmth' truly is the premier choice for accommodation.

__WeChat247621****Checked in on a Saturday, so there were quite a few guests. Had to wait a bit but check-in was surprisingly fast. Lots of foreigners around.
Booked through Trip.com and got a complimentary happy hour from 6 PM to 7:30 PM. Free-flow drinks with some cashews and mini cakes – not a huge variety, but the taste was decent.
The hallways are a bit narrow and had a damp smell. Entering the room, you're greeted by a fully open-plan cave-style bathroom with a glowing bathtub – quite a sight!
Hangers and slippers were in the cabinet next to the bed.
No vanity table. The hairdryer wasn't a Dyson, and there was no speaker.
There's an iPad to control the smart home features, an 'old iPad given a new lease on life' kind of deal. It was a bit slow to respond and had some translation issues (e.g., 'reading right' instead of 'right reading light').
There's a red light above the bed. If some hotels are overtly flamboyant, this one is subtly so.
The room had a large round table, which was a bit amusing.
The gym and pool are both on B1 and are relatively small. The cardio area is quite spacious. For beginners, the weightlifting equipment isn't very friendly, and there aren't many fixed machines.
Breakfast is served until 11 AM and is very Shanghai-style: pan-fried dumplings, curry beef vermicelli, soup dumplings, congee, rice balls, etc. Everything you could want. The quality and taste are both excellent.
Overall, it's pretty good. The Xintiandi area nearby is also great for strolling. It would be even better if they could upgrade the weightlifting equipment in the gym.

MM29680****The front desk staff were cold and robotic, and their work attitude was lax, which immediately made me lose interest in this five-star hotel. There were no welcome fruits, no smart toilet, no personalized service at all, and I didn't feel valued or welcomed as a guest. There were no small soaps for guests who don't like shower gel, and all the toiletries were large, fixed bottles – are they trying to prevent guests from taking them? If you want to stay in the hotel and just have a simple meal, the executive lounge offers hardly any food. This really doesn't justify my executive room rate; it's not good value for money. The breakfast environment was decent, but it was crowded, and the food wasn't particularly impressive. The sink drained slowly, and the maintenance worker initially claimed it was normal, but after actual repairs, it improved significantly. Although the hotel is old, the overall cleanliness is excellent, it's quiet, the high-floor views are great, and it's convenient for getting around with many places to explore for a city walk nearby.

GGuest UserThe house is being renovated, so for the weekend, I decided to stay overnight as a local resident of Shanghai. During the two years of the pandemic, I also took my child to many iconic local hotels to experience them. After considering factors such as comfort, location, cost-effectiveness, dining, service, opening hours, and overall quality, I would highly recommend this hotel to friends planning a trip to Shanghai. The staff are very attentive and responsive to any needs. The location is excellent, situated in North Bund, Hongkou District, which is not too noisy and offers easy access to various amenities. For those visiting Shanghai, there is a stand-up comedy show nearby that is definitely worth checking out. The dining options are plentiful, and you can easily reach Siji Minfu within walking distance. The North Bund City Terrace and the Waibaidu Bridge are also within walking distance. Last night, I took a stroll around the area and stood at the North Bund City Terrace. Seeing Shanghai and Pudong's Oriental Pearl Tower from this vantage point was truly breathtaking.
