DDoudoujiangThe hotel's location is very convenient, the rooms are clean and hygienic, the facilities are relatively new, and the soundproofing is good. The only drawbacks are that the hotel doesn't have a robot delivery service, which makes ordering takeout inconvenient. Takeout left at the front desk isn't automatically delivered to the room; you have to call and request it. Another downside is that the hotel elevator doesn't require a key card to access, so non-guests can enter the guest areas at any time. Overall, the location and facilities are good, but there are still areas that could be improved.

AAnonymous UserThe Executive Room was spacious and airy, with soft, comfortable bedding and exquisite bathroom amenities. The soundproofing was excellent, allowing for a truly peaceful rest. The hotel's location is superb, making getting around a breeze; you can hail a taxi right downstairs. A special shout-out to Jeremy from the Executive Lounge! From check-in to departure, he was attentive and thoughtful throughout. He proactively explained all the lounge benefits, from breakfast and afternoon tea to evening service, arranging everything with meticulous care and warmth. He was quick to respond to any request, demonstrating professionalism and genuine hospitality that made us feel like family. Our experience was perfect, highly recommended!

AAnonymous UserWouldn't you know it, it started raining just as I was heading out. I was so looking forward to seeing the sunrise the next day, but that was out of the question now. But life always has its surprises – despite the strong wind and gloomy rain, I witnessed the clouds surging. As the wind swept the clouds past, the Shanghai World Financial Center would appear and disappear, giving me the feeling of living among the clouds. The elevator whisked me from the 1st to the 101st floor lobby in a mere 61 seconds. The entire hotel is a blend of Chinese art, precious treasures, and Feng Shui, which is exactly my style. It's part of the Jinjiang Group, a Chinese company, and in my opinion, better than the other two hotels in the 'Shanghai Trio' which are under the foreign Hyatt Group. I joined the 'Treasures in the Clouds' tour, which was well worth it – fascinating to learn about all the precious items used throughout the hotel. The 85th-floor health club boasts a grand and beautiful gym; the treadmills overlook the white clouds outside. I didn't get to try it though, as I'd left my room in flip-flops. I thoroughly enjoyed the 84th-floor pool; the water temperature was perfect, and there wasn't a strong chlorine smell. I swam 10 laps straight. The 101st-floor lobby bar is ideal for enjoying the views, with a semi-circular panorama offering different perspectives, plus simple drinks and small biscuits to sample. The buffet breakfast restaurant, also on the 101st floor, covers the other half of the circle. The breakfast was exquisite and plentiful, offering a mix of buffet and à la carte cooked-to-order dishes. I had dinner at Jin Yan on the 103rd floor, which served Cantonese cuisine – a delicate style that I truly enjoyed. In short, I'll definitely be staying here again!

GGuest UserTerrible. Will not stay again. The check-in SOP was unclear, forcing guests to ask multiple questions, even for basic information like breakfast times and location. The room smelled of smoke, possibly due to old or poorly maintained air conditioning. The front desk staff denied there was a smoke smell and only after repeated requests did they show me other rooms, about half of which also smelled of smoke. Their service attitude was both arrogant and perfunctory. The operational procedures were also a mess; for example, after checking in, I found the room didn't even have a kettle and called to request one. Ten minutes later, housekeeping knocked on the door, saying they needed to replace the in-room magazine. It was bizarre to replace a monthly magazine after check-in. The kettle that was eventually delivered was wet inside and out, with a strong disinfectant smell inside. The ice bucket in the room also had water and already smelled foul when opened. The hotel management is riddled with loopholes everywhere; quality is in the details. The hard furnishings like the toilet and bathtub in the room were old, the shower handle was broken, and the water pressure was worse than a 3 or 4-star hotel. The linens were average. However, the bedding and mattress were good.

GGuest UserOverall, it was a great stay. Honestly, I had some reservations at first because its reputation on some popular social media platforms wasn't great. However, when I stayed with my family last time, I was genuinely surprised: although the rooms weren't the newest, they didn't have that dingy, old-hotel feel. Instead of an overly ornate or gaudy style, they struck a perfect balance between brightness and romance, grandeur and restraint. This second visit, I was upgraded to a classic Poolside Deluxe Room, and the views were, of course, stunning. The overall ambiance of the room was fantastic. Some facilities (like certain cabinet doors) were indeed showing age due to the heavy humidity from the pool, as mentioned online, but it didn't affect their normal use. The swimming pool was also much better than some posts had described it; in particular, the three small hot pools by the main pool, each with a different water temperature, were very unique. You could even get a short swim in there, haha. The breakfast variety and taste were probably above average, but the fact that it's available until noon is just *chef's kiss*! From what I remember, hotels in downtown Shanghai that offer this are truly rare. The hotel's service across the board was also commendable. The bellhops in the lobby, wearing flat caps and vests, were very gentlemanly. Every time the housekeeping and turndown service staff came, they were incredibly polite. What particularly impressed us were: the front desk lady on Saturday, June 6th; the enthusiastic ambassador and the service staff who helped arrange a food delivery on the same night (and every other time an ambassador answered the phone, they were also very nice); and Ms. Deslin, who assisted us during check-out. In short, it was an excellent weekend getaway in every aspect, far exceeding the expectations set by online reviews.

AAnonymous UserChoosing the Waldorf Astoria on the Bund in Shanghai was definitely the right decision! The location is absolutely perfect, right in the heart of the Bund. You step out of the hotel and you're right by the river, and it's also super convenient to walk to Nanjing Road. The hotel facilities are excellent, and the century-old building is incredibly beautiful, a perfect blend of vintage and luxury. The room experience was fantastic! I especially want to commend our dedicated concierges, Emily and Echole. Their warm, attentive, professional, and gentle service made us feel incredibly comfortable.

TThe Lonely TravellerMight I say, our entire stay at the W was marvelous from beginning to end. Upon arrival, we were greeted and helped with our luggage straight yo our room. The staff at the front desk was extremely friendly. She even offered to upgrade us to a room with a better view seeing that we were celebrating and visiting Shanghai for the first time. Each staff seemed to acknowledge our existence all throughout the hotel. This made us feel like extremely important people. Our room was absolutely stunning and oh my was the view ever so perfect. Room service was excellent. Their burger was probably the most delicious. We visited amd stayed in many hotels around China and this one definitely left some beautiful memories. We would highly recommend staying here if ever visiting Shanghai. Every penny spent was worth it.

GGuest UserWe booked a suite for our wedding reception to host both sets of parents. When the housekeeping team helped us bring up some of our luggage, they even came along to specifically wish us a happy marriage! I was so touched. Then they adjusted the air conditioning for me because I was decorating and they were worried I'd get hot. They turned it down and even introduced me to the room's mini-bar! Later, they also sent up some fruit for me 😊 It was delicious and so fresh! In the evening, they proactively asked if I wanted turndown service~ The breakfast in the morning was especially good, with seaweed sticky rice cakes, and I even had the Shanghainese specialty 'Shuangdang Soup'! My parents and family all said the dinner banquet was excellent! The seafood received particularly high praise – it was incredibly fresh, the lobster was springy, and the beef cubes were juicy. The two-way roasted suckling pig was also very unique. Everyone in the family was very satisfied, including the wedding cake we ordered at the end; they all said it was better than cakes bought outside. It was a very happy experience.

GGuest UserThe hotel's location is truly unbeatable, right at 789 Nanjing East Road. Step out, and you're directly on Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, with dining, entertainment, and shopping all just steps away. A fifteen-minute walk takes you straight to the Bund's historic buildings. It's also near People's Square Metro Station, where multiple lines intersect, making it incredibly convenient to get to Yu Garden, Lujiazui, and the Shanghai Museum. Whether you're sightseeing, shopping, or commuting, it saves a lot of travel time. Finding a hotel like this in such a prime downtown location is really rare. The staff, Evelyn, Camille, and Ivy, were incredibly welcoming and gave me many souvenirs. I really love this hotel and stay here often.
