"Facilities: The room facilities are still top-notch, though some things were missing compared to last year. For example, I couldn't find the bathtub remote control – maybe it was hidden? The bedside alarm clock was gone. I doubt the bedside air freshener would have been provided if I hadn't asked, even though I know it was available in 2025. Unlike last year, they didn't call us in advance to offer a birthday cake. This year, I spent 4,000 for one night for my son's birthday, and we got absolutely nothing. The butler, Linda, was okay. I was planning to message her on WeChat to tell her she was one of the only two good things about my stay – her service and the consistently rich T9 Earl Grey tea. However, I found out she deleted me. It seems she was just putting on a show for two days, and now she's revealed her true colors, just like the hotel. Who cares, anyway? Hygiene: The room hygiene was decent, except for the pool. It pales in comparison to the quiet and clean pool of 2025. It seems they outsourced it this year, as there was no mineral water or towels by the pool. The showers were also dirty and messy compared to 2025. When I got to the changing room, there were no shower towels either, which was very awkward. A middle-aged man, who I assume was the contractor, saw me complaining about the lack of towels and called someone to arrange for them. As a high-end hotel under Jinjiang Hotels, J Hotel shouldn't outsource its pool. Ensuring privacy is crucial for a luxury hotel. I guess this will be my last stay at Jinjiang J Hotel. Of course, we won't hinder others from making money, but I definitely won't be staying at J Hotel again. I'll stick to places like The Peninsula, The Fairmont Peace Hotel, InterContinental, and Sofitel Shanghai Hongqiao. I had originally planned to buy Jinjiang Hotels stock (600754) worth around 50 million over two years, but it seems there's no need for such 'value investing.' Without good service, the stock's value is worthless. I hope J Hotel makes some changes. This time, when I went to the pool, I saw many people learning to swim in the murky water who clearly weren't hotel guests. I didn't even go in; I just got out and left. I'm very disappointed with the J Hotel pool this time. Someone was even proudly telling five or six middle-aged women how 'high-end' their pool was, likely because they were there for their children's swimming lessons. Such behavior truly disheartens guests; there's no privacy and no peace at all. Environment: The hotel environment is still good, given it's only been open a few years. Service: This year's service is a huge step down from 2025. Farewell, J Hotel. I will 101% not be staying here again!"

"Initially, I wasn't thrilled about staying here after seeing the gym. However, I heard the spa was good and it was close to a few restaurants we'd booked, so we decided to go for it. The river view was also quite decent. But seriously, is the service team outsourced or something? Everyone seemed so unenthusiastic (not sure why they're so aloof 🤷🏻‍♀️), and I even had to go downstairs myself to pick up food deliveries. 😅 Breakfast was okay; my partner said the Chinese options were better. They specifically praised the tea-marinated eggs and the beef in the beef noodles. The New York set allowed for scrambled eggs, which worked out well since we're pure protein eaters. 😅 The mini-bar items were generally on the pricier side. They delivered cake daily, and we even received luggage tags when we checked out. The gym… well, I'd say about 90% of guests don't use it, and the remaining 9% go to the pool for photos. I guess I'm the only one genuinely trying to burn fat. 🥲 The treadmills are ancient Technogym models, seriously vintage! Plus, the treadmills are placed way too close to the wall; I kept feeling like I was about to hit it during my runs, can I even say that? 🤐 And the gym was freezing cold, even adjusting the AC didn't help much. Congrats to me for setting a new personal best for a 10km fasted run in sub-zero conditions! 🥲 The green apples were quite tasty. Apart from that, the spa is definitely the most commendable! My partner and I went every day. 🥰 Both the facial and Chinese massage treatments were excellent!"

"This hotel is right on my doorstep, and I decided to try it out for my birthday. Before checking in, I wondered if the price was a bit high, but my prejudices were completely shattered after my stay. From the moment you step into the villa's courtyard, it evokes a sense of anticipation and comfort. The indoor temperature was just right, making it very comfortable. The villa is extremely well-maintained, with a decor that exudes an Old Shanghai charm. The cleanliness deserves a perfect score! As someone with mild OCD, this is the only place where I've been completely satisfied with the level of cleanliness. I'd heard some complaints about the shower and hot water timing, but for a villa with such an old-world feel, I found 1-2 minutes for the hot water to kick in perfectly acceptable. The water pressure in the shower was just right. The drain was a little slow, but the water didn't pool above my toes, so it wasn't an issue. All the complimentary amenities (except for the hairdryer) were quite refined. I don't understand why they still use an old-fashioned hairdryer – that's my only query. The bedding was comfortable, and the mattress provided excellent support, allowing me to have a wonderful night's sleep. They even delivered a birthday cake twice, which was a lovely touch. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied, and I'll definitely recommend this hotel as my top choice for friends or family visiting Shanghai in the future."

"The reason I love Aman is because it offers more than just a hotel stay. The moment I arrived, I was captivated by the beautiful scenery of the trees and the profound meaning behind the Yangyun Heritage, which was created by someone a thousand years ago who strived to preserve them. It made me want to stay there indefinitely. ❤️ The outdoor bathtub in the room's courtyard felt charming even in the rainy weather, and the interior was clean and tidy. I especially appreciate the hospitality of Jeremy Wang and the smiles and kindness of the staff whenever we met. It made my stay very comfortable and relaxing! I highly recommend visiting the Le Wu restaurant. While many dishes are spicy, the spice isn't overpowering, making it enjoyable for Koreans. The complimentary afternoon tea was a nice touch, and the daily Chinese traditional culture and art classes at Nanshufang were fantastic – I particularly enjoyed the calligraphy session! There are also bikes available, which are great for exploring the park outside. I couldn't do all the activities, and 24 hours simply wasn't enough time. ㅠㅠ"

"I stayed at the Jing An Shangri-La with my child this time, and the location is definitely its biggest advantage – the mall is right downstairs. Our room faced the 'Bund Three-Piece Suit' (the three iconic skyscrapers), offering excellent views. I especially want to commend Apple from concierge; communication with her was pleasant, and she was very attentive in helping with our travel arrangements. Our guests rate this hotel as one of the best hotels for cleanliness. This hotel is particularly popular with those traveling on business.

"Facilities: You can tell this hotel has some age to it, but it's very well-maintained. It has that old-school luxury feel, and I particularly liked the lobby with its grand crystal chandeliers. The room was incredibly spacious, with a walk-in closet, double sinks, and a bathtub – all the basics met and exceeded expectations. Being on a high floor, the view was fantastic; standing by the window, I felt like I was surveying the world, haha. Hygiene: Overall, the hygiene was very good. The only thing that could be improved is the bathrobes. It would be better if they came in sealed, disposable bags. Firstly, it would prevent dust, and secondly, it would feel much more hygienic; otherwise, I'd be a bit hesitant to wear them. The bathrobe material was also a bit rough. Service: The service is definitely the highlight and deserves the most praise. First, check-in was a comfortable seated experience; no 'standing in line' punishment while waiting, and there were plenty of seats in the waiting area. Also, upon check-in, we were assigned a 24-hour butler who provided free tea and drinks around the clock. That night, after a couple of drinks, I requested a hot milk. After messaging our butler, Rachel, it was delivered to the room very quickly – thumbs up! The next day at ADD for breakfast, the server noticed I had both porridge and noodles and, without me even realizing, brought me a ceramic spoon. That was incredibly thoughtful! I believe luxurious service should subtly permeate every little detail like this. This kind of experience also extended to calling housekeeping and them clearly knowing my surname – many five-star hotels struggle with this now. It truly feels like the SOP standards from an era of economic prosperity. Later that evening, on a whim, we went to the bar. The cocktails were well-made, and the Chinese resident singer was very entertaining, performing Chinese folk songs in a foreign-branded hotel. I had expected the usual, unidentifiable 'oohs and aahs' from foreign singers. The bar also had a magician, Edward, who brought the atmosphere to a climax; his close-up magic was amazing and left everyone gasping in awe. The bar manager, Max, was also very enthusiastic with his service. I'll definitely bring friends here again next time!"

The legendary Fairmont Peace Hotel on the Bund lives up to its reputation! The location is unbeatable, right on Nanjing Road and the Bund. Our river view room had an incredible view of the Lujiazui skyline at night. The Art Deco lobby with its stunning glass dome creates an amazing atmosphere, so vintage and refined – perfect for snapping some retro-style photos. The service is what you'd expect from a classic luxury hotel; the concierge was attentive and responsive, making our stay a 10/10 experience. You absolutely have to catch the Old Jazz Band; their music transports you back to old Shanghai. Definitely worth the trip, highly recommended!

Five-star review! My stay at MGM Cotai this time was absolutely fantastic. The high-altitude river view offered a wide, open vista, and the room was quiet and comfortable with excellent amenities. Cici called me beforehand and learned it was my birthday, so she thoughtfully decorated the room for me. It was elegant and tasteful, not overly showy, just perfect. Her service was professional and attentive; she even reminded me to be careful about the heat before I went out. Communication throughout my stay was efficient and hassle-free. It was a truly memorable experience that combined a sense of occasion with ultimate comfort.

My weekend stay at the Bellagio Shanghai, operated by Suning, was a truly comfortable and relaxing urban getaway. The hotel's location and views are, of course, outstanding. Watching the Suzhou Creek and the Pudong skyline at night, all the quintessential Shanghai charm unfolded before my eyes. The hotel's aesthetic also really appealed to me; it doesn't chase flashy modernity, but instead has a timeless and understated classic feel that withstands the test of time. The room was very comfortable, especially the bedding, which was excellent, ensuring a great night's sleep. Even casual photos turned out beautifully – it's the kind of place that's pretty from any angle, without needing to deliberately find a good shot. This time, I particularly want to thank Penny. Over the years, I've stayed in many hotels, and once the hardware reaches a certain standard, it's truly the people who make the difference. Penny left me with an impression that can be summarized in two phrases: meticulous attention to detail and thorough consideration. Before and after check-in, she proactively sought to understand our preferences and needs. Many things didn't require repeated explanations; she had already thought of them in advance. What's remarkable is that this attentiveness never felt forced; she had excellent discretion, making the entire weekend feel very relaxed. One small incident, in particular, is worth mentioning. Even after her shift, Penny continued to help coordinate and arrange things for us, and she specifically clarified our personal preferences one by one. Guests may not always realize how much internal communication is involved, but the seamless experience she delivered speaks volumes about her dedication and professionalism. Good service is never just about enthusiastic words; it's about anticipating what the guest hasn't thought of, and having already arranged what the guest has thought of. Penny excelled in this regard. It was a weekend without a tight itinerary or any special plans – just enjoying the views, getting good sleep, and leisurely passing time at the hotel. Ironically, this was one of the most enjoyable and relaxing breaks I've had recently. The hardware, views, and ambiance of the Bellagio Shanghai are all worth a return visit, but what truly makes someone choose a hotel again are often these small details in the service. Thank you, Penny, for your care. I will definitely choose this hotel again and hope to see you next time.

Honestly, this hotel can only be called a designer brand, definitely not a luxury one! From the ambiance to the service. I arrived quite late and asked the front desk if food delivery could be brought to the room. Their clear answer was that food needs to be picked up, but personal items can be delivered. I ordered antiperspirant, and the courier delivered it to the front desk. I called twice, and the front desk didn't answer! There was a 10-minute gap, and then it just rang busy! So I went to pick it up myself, only to find a female employee at the front desk in the lobby who asked me why I didn't call?!!! I retorted, 'Did you even answer?!' When I arrived at the front desk, I bought breakfast separately. The next day, realizing I wouldn't have time to eat, I asked to cancel it. First, they told me it couldn't be canceled. I asked him which law stated that an unredeemed item couldn't be refunded, and he immediately said he'd put in a request. Why bother putting guests through that emotional hassle? Also, the showerhead in the room was loose!!! And the paint was peeling at the connection! Apparently, my room was even jokingly called a 'cattle and horse room' because it was super close to the office building across the street! Super close! I came with high expectations but left quite disappointed!!

This stay was absolutely perfect, a solid five stars! The hotel's location is fantastic, making it super convenient for shopping. The room was spotless, not a hint of any unpleasant smells, and the bedding was incredibly soft and comfortable – perfect for resting after a day of shopping with friends. The common areas were also impeccably clean and beautifully maintained. Bonnie at the front desk was incredibly efficient during check-in and was consistently gentle and patient. She went above and beyond, proactively offering tips on exploring the area and navigating transportation. She answered all our questions thoroughly, demonstrating both professionalism and a thoughtful approach. In fact, all the staff were exceptionally warm and attentive, truly deserving of a five-star rating. I'll definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Shanghai!

An interesting hotel that I visited purely out of curiosity. There's an observation deck on the 14th underground floor where you can see the lake, waterfalls, and mines. Right next to the hotel is the Shimao Wonderland theme park, and the attractions there are really great for testing your courage. In the evening, there's a light and shadow show, telling ancient stories amidst dazzling lights – truly unique and beautiful. The Chinese restaurant at the hotel is delicious, and the water curtain show in the lobby is also quite unique. The rooms are spacious and very clean, with a blend of old money and modern decor. I made a last-minute decision to stay at this hotel, and the staff were incredibly welcoming. They personally escorted me to my room, explaining all the features and amenities, and even highlighted the hotel's special services. The room offered a direct view of the Lujiazui 'Three-Piece Suit' skyline, including the Bund and the Oriental Pearl Tower – the entire panorama was right before my eyes. Although the hotel has been around for a while, it's still very well-maintained. The breakfast selection was extensive. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay.

This stay was undoubtedly the most healing and unforgettable highlight of my trip, filled with comfort and warmth from start to finish, making it truly memorable. The hotel rooms were sophisticated and elegant, with a well-designed layout and exquisite, grand decor, showcasing quality in every detail. The room was clean, tidy, and bright, with a cozy and comfortable ambiance. Every small detail showed meticulous care, making me feel incredibly relaxed and completely fulfilling all my expectations for an ideal living space. What surprised me most was the hotel's Spago restaurant. The overall ambiance was perfect, with beautiful scenery and a unique style. Both the interior design and the atmosphere were striking. Dining here was not just a treat for the taste buds but also an ultimate visual feast. The romantic and soothing atmosphere made it my dream restaurant and one of the biggest surprises of this trip. The beauty of a journey, beyond the excellent environment, also comes from thoughtful and warm service. Here, I want to sincerely thank my four butlers: Frieda, Leo, Kirana, and Susanna. During my stay, they were consistently meticulous, attentive, and patient, always monitoring my experience and proactively addressing all my needs with professional and gentle service. Their thorough care and perfectly attentive service washed away the fatigue of travel, making me, a stranger in a foreign land, feel a long-lost sense of security and warmth, truly experiencing the ultimate feeling of being at home. The excellent environment, the stunning restaurant views, combined with perfect and heartwarming service, created a flawless stay. This short visit has left me with an abundance of wonderful memories, and I am already eagerly looking forward to my next return. I will definitely choose this place again in the future!
