"1. Overall, I had lower expectations after seeing reviews on Xiaohongshu, but my actual experience was quite good. 2. Check-in was indeed slow; I arrived around 3 PM, and the room wasn't ready until almost 4:30 PM. 3. The room essentially has no view, so the lower the room type price, the better. This time, I didn't believe it and specifically booked the 'Lingkong' (Sky-High) room, which felt like a waste. 4. The public areas offer decent views, but it's weather-dependent. It was overcast during my stay, so no clear skies or sea of clouds. The photos are mostly heavily edited. 5. It's the tallest hotel, so it's worth experiencing once, especially since the prices didn't increase much during the National Day holiday. 6. The only issue was with late checkout; it took three attempts to get it extended to 2 PM. The key point is that the morning staff seemed unhelpful. From a customer's perspective, both delaying check-in and making guests leave early is really disappointing and a very poor experience. 7. The pool is too small; it's fine for kids, but it doesn't align with the hotel's positioning. 8. Room 9515's view is a definite miss. Even though the view is generally ignored, the main view has the Oriental Pearl Tower far to the left and the Financial Center far to the right. The dark visual feel is a design flaw, and this kind of view falls short of what 'Lingkong' implies, especially since it was recommended as a 'Lingkong' room when I booked. 9. After all that, despite the regrets and complaints, there's certainly a lot of room for improvement, but I still recommend experiencing it once. 10. All photos are of the public areas."

Full set of Bvlgari White Tea amenities, and butler service is promptly responsive. The century-old General Chamber of Commerce building boasts a strong retro Italian design vibe. ▪️ Cons Having been open for several years, some room facilities show slight signs of aging, with loose panels. Breakfast selection is limited, and the food quality is average. The basic city-view rooms don't offer river views; it's best to prioritize booking a room with a view. Overall, it's suitable for a special experience or checking in for the atmosphere, with the focus on enjoying the night views and luxurious ambiance."

"This hotel is right on my doorstep, and I decided to try it out for my birthday. Before checking in, I wondered if the price was a bit high, but my prejudices were completely shattered after my stay. From the moment you step into the villa's courtyard, it evokes a sense of anticipation and comfort. The indoor temperature was just right, making it very comfortable. The villa is extremely well-maintained, with a decor that exudes an Old Shanghai charm. The cleanliness deserves a perfect score! As someone with mild OCD, this is the only place where I've been completely satisfied with the level of cleanliness. I'd heard some complaints about the shower and hot water timing, but for a villa with such an old-world feel, I found 1-2 minutes for the hot water to kick in perfectly acceptable. The water pressure in the shower was just right. The drain was a little slow, but the water didn't pool above my toes, so it wasn't an issue. All the complimentary amenities (except for the hairdryer) were quite refined. I don't understand why they still use an old-fashioned hairdryer – that's my only query. The bedding was comfortable, and the mattress provided excellent support, allowing me to have a wonderful night's sleep. They even delivered a birthday cake twice, which was a lovely touch. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied, and I'll definitely recommend this hotel as my top choice for friends or family visiting Shanghai in the future."

"Our two-night stay at Amanyangyun far exceeded our expectations; it's almost impossible to find fault with anything, from the service to the facilities. The day before check-in, I received a call from Ms. Ma at the front desk, inquiring about any special requests for our stay and sending me the hotel's dining menu. She even personally came out to warmly greet us upon arrival for check-in. Ms. Ma, a brilliant Shanghai native who excels in both substance and style, truly deserves commendation. All our meals—breakfast, afternoon tea, and dinner at the Italian restaurant—were served by a wonderful lady named Ms. Lu, whose attentive and meticulous service left a deep impression. Overall, the proactive and enthusiastic service attitude and standard of the hotel staff we encountered were on par with high-end Japanese hotels, and distinctly superior to the service levels at the other two Aman properties in China. "First off, the room decor is absolutely stunning, as it always is at W hotels. I've stayed at Ws in Xi'an, Macau, and Chengdu, and now Shanghai – their design aesthetic is consistently modern and really resonates with us Gen Z. The room layout and attention to detail are spot-on. They never disappoint when it comes to style. Secondly, I won't go into too much detail about cleanliness; W hotels consistently maintain high standards, so no issues there. Thirdly, the service was excellent. Any request I had was promptly considered and accommodated by the hotel. You feel the exceptional service from the moment you step into the hotel. Staff members are present from the luggage drop-off all the way to the elevator lobby, waiting to assist. Furthermore, the dining experience was fantastic. The breakfast at every W I've visited has been superb, truly top-notch. Finally, since it was our first time at the Shanghai W, the front desk even upgraded our room! I was pleasantly surprised to find myself in a 'Marvelous Suite'. The whole experience was absolutely brilliant. The only minor drawback was that the drinks and room setup included in the Ctrip package weren't prepared in advance, even though I had called a day earlier. If those details could also be taken care of beforehand, so you walk into a fully prepared room, then this would truly be a 10/10 experience."

"Outstanding four-night stay – impeccable service and perfect Jing’an location I recently stayed four nights at the Jing An Shangri-La, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The staff were consistently warm, professional, and attentive—nothing was too much trouble. The gym is very well equipped, and the swimming pool is lovely and relaxing, perfect after a busy day in Shanghai. The location in Jing’an is ideal, within easy walking distance to several major malls, restaurants, and transport links. What really stood out was the service after I checked out: I accidentally left an item behind, and the team quickly arranged to send it back to Hong Kong for me. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return"

From the beginning, she was incredibly kind, thoughtful, attentive, and genuinely warm. I was in Shanghai celebrating my 25th birthday on a solo trip, and Koi went above and beyond to make my stay feel special. She was always willing to help, and she even spent so much time helping me take photos and create memories from my trip. What stood out to me most was that her kindness never felt forced or simply like part of her job—she was genuinely lovely, and by the end of my stay, it felt like I had made a friend in Shanghai. The hotel itself was beautiful, my room was stunning, and the facilities and service were everything I would expect from a St. Regis property, but it is the people who make a hotel experience memorable.
