DIVINITYWIt's so true that Shanghainese people only get to be tourists in their own city when they're visiting from out of town! 😄 I have to rave about the Gold Room – every detail was just perfect! It's a shame I checked in late and missed dinner. I absolutely loved the breakfast at F9; it was much quieter than the first floor and the food quality was superior. The afternoon tea served with Narumi tableware was also a lovely, high-end touch. The swimming pool was quite small, and having three lifeguards watching just me swim was a little awkward. 😅 Many of the staff were Shanghainese, and hearing their familiar local dialect was so comforting! The parking garage, due to the historical nature of the building, had its inconveniences. Ultimately, the true highlights of the Peace Hotel are its architecture, the meticulous soft furnishings, and its rich historical heritage. Next time I'm home for a trip, I'll definitely be back to make up for that missed dinner!

Guest UserHonestly, this stay far exceeded my expectations. The hotel's riverside view was delightful, and the artistic decor throughout was unique. The public areas were clean and tidy. Our room was meticulously cleaned, with brand-new, complete facilities, and the soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a particularly quiet night's rest.
Cici and Zora provided attentive follow-up throughout. Before arrival, they proactively contacted us about our itinerary and adjusted the room as needed. Upon check-in, they thoroughly explained the hotel's services. They handled luggage storage and extra toiletries efficiently and with polite, gentle service. With both great facilities and thoughtful service, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Shanghai.

I'd been looking forward to staying at the Kimpton Shanghai Qiantan for a while, and I finally got the perfect opportunity to experience it for a night.
While the hotel isn't huge, its design aesthetic is by far the strongest I've encountered in any hotel, surpassing even the Kimptons in London and Suzhou. The design of all the public areas isn't just refined and beautiful; it's captivating, almost predatory.
The guest rooms feature a sleek, black metallic finish. The minibar, TV screen, and desk are all electrically controlled and can be raised or lowered. The leather sofa has a metallic sheen, though it felt a bit short to lounge on. In the center of the room, there's a fireplace, with crystal lights mimicking dancing flames late at night.
Even the toothbrush holders and cups in the bathroom are metal.
The hotel lobby is strikingly high-ceilinged. Tastefully placed blankets on the black sofas, a predominantly black background with red accents, and sparkling handicrafts encased in glass create an enchanting and almost surreal atmosphere. On the fifth floor, the living room is dominated by a blood-red, lip-shaped sofa that commands attention, creating immense artistic tension with the surrounding marble coffee tables and leather sofas.
The Western restaurant on the eighth floor gleams, and the bar opposite, despite lacking windows, is incredibly dazzling. Behind the bar, rows upon rows of bottles in the embedded, illuminated wine cabinet are absolutely stunning.
The ninth floor boasts an infinity pool with a view of the West Bund.
On the downside: The internet was unstable and slow. Also, on the night I checked in, it was the basketball finals, but the TV signal kept cutting in and out.

_Alano_My stay at The Shanghai EDITION was absolutely perfect! The hotel's location is superb, within walking distance to Nanjing Road and The Bund. The overall decor is chic and minimalist, and the room offers a fantastic view. The Le Labo amenities, soft bedding, and meticulous cleanliness really show attention to detail.
Check-in was smooth thanks to Winnie at the front desk, who was incredibly gentle and professional. She was very efficient, proactively told me about the hotel and breakfast times, patiently answered my questions about room types and parking, and even gave me tips on nearby attractions. Her service was attentive and thoughtful, without being overly formal, which made me feel very comfortable. The hotel facilities are excellent, the breakfast spread is extensive, and the rooftop bar offers breathtaking night views. The overall service standard is consistently high. I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time I'm in Shanghai, and a special thanks to Winnie for her thoughtful hospitality!

Baobaolan134During the Dragon Boat Festival, I brought my family for a trip nearby. The Shimao Wonderland InterContinental, though I'd heard mixed reviews online, I decided to experience it for myself. After confirming our check-in time and our preference for a quiet room, Hanna from the front desk proactively added me on WeChat. She reminded me that because it was a holiday and there was an amusement park nearby, parking might be tight, advising me to inform her 30 minutes in advance so she could make arrangements. We checked in on Dragon Boat Festival noon, and I was surprised to see the lobby's seating area packed with people and a long queue at the front desk. However, thanks to Hanna's foresight, our room was already reserved, making the check-in process quick and efficient. Our room was arranged away from the elevator, and the soundproofing was remarkably good. We couldn't hear any plumbing from the adjacent rooms or the floors above/below, whether it was the shower or the toilet. This undisturbed experience is a rare find, whether in hotels built years ago or newly constructed ones, a truly effective soundproofing is hard to come by. There was a minor issue with the sink drainage during our stay, which was promptly resolved, showing their attentive service. However, I have to complain about the sink's design; it was a square basin, which easily splashed water, and water tended to accumulate near the faucet – not very practical. Our stay included a complimentary travel photoshoot with three free photos. The photographer was excellent at creating a lively atmosphere, and our family portrait turned out vibrant and natural, boosting our mood significantly! Online reviews for the Western restaurant were mediocre, but the Chinese restaurant, Cai Feng Lou, received many positive comments. I spontaneously decided to try it, worried about not getting a table, but Hanna immediately helped us book a table for that evening. The standout dish in the set meal was the diced wagyu beef – a true test of a chef's skill. Each piece was large, yet perfectly tender, flavorful, and didn't get stuck in your teeth. This mastery certainly justifies the numerous trophies and prestigious brand accolades at the entrance! At the restaurant entrance, there was also an introduction to the Shimao Quarry Hotel's background and construction history. Indeed, many aspects of its design were quite visionary, considering it took 12 years to build! The cliffside light show at 8:30 PM featured stunning opening audio effects, and the fountain design added a lot to the visual impact of the mythological story. The Chenshan Botanical Garden, included in our hotel package, was even more amazing. I felt like I could spend two days there, enjoying nature, the charm of the vast lawn, the beauty of the dawn redwood forest, and the tranquility of the camphor forest. Overall, it was a good experience, but the price was just too unfriendly. Even without it being a major holiday, it was so expensive. Given the current economic climate, a more affordable price would be needed to maintain sustained market demand.

An absolutely wonderful experience!
**Facilities:** Even though it's an older hotel, I was initially worried the facilities might be outdated. But when I arrived, I realized there was no need to worry at all. The overall vibe is one of rich heritage and understated luxury, without feeling old-fashioned. I personally loved it.
**Hygiene:** The hygiene was excellent; I didn't notice any issues.
**Environment:** Simply fantastic. Both the hotel itself and the guests staying there collectively create an atmosphere that made me feel it was truly great value for money.
This is a hotel with genuinely sincere service and a superb location, well worth experiencing. I absolutely loved it.

We finally stayed in the long-coveted room with the scenic bathtub. The floor-to-ceiling window bathtub is definitely the highlight, offering a serene view of the flowing river and the city's towering buildings – capturing the unique romance of Shanghai perfectly. The breakfast buffet in the morning was incredibly thoughtful, with a wide variety of dishes catering to both adults and children. With no rush, we savored the moments amidst the city's riverfront panorama, creating warm birthday memories for the kids.

Kelly_LunaAmenities: Absolutely beautiful and high-quality, couldn't stop taking photos! Loved the white marble paired with the green room aesthetic. The view outside was Yu Garden, no concrete jungle feeling, very much a vacation vibe.
Cleanliness: Very clean.
Service: Excellent, exceeded expectations, very professional. Butlers Amber and Frieda provided outstanding service, very responsive and thoughtful.
Ambiance: Really enjoyed the rooftop bar. There was a DJ at night, creating a fantastic atmosphere.
24-hour beverage service: This was exceptionally good. I was so busy with activities that I forgot to order, and later that evening, the butler brought drinks to my room. So happy! 🥳
Breakfast was great, and the restaurant was absolutely beautiful 🤩. The lobby was also stunning. Overall, it's small yet beautiful, exquisite, and cozy. Perhaps it's because the original property was so well-built?
In summary, this stay was incredibly satisfying. It's a peaceful retreat in a bustling area, with fantastic surroundings perfect for exploring food, shopping, riverside walks, and even a city walk. Simply versatile.
