"This stay at J Hotel's 90th-floor Xiangyun River View King Room was amazing. The window-side bathtub, paired with the panoramic floor-to-ceiling river view, created an incredibly atmospheric bathing and sightseeing experience. The reception staff on the 101st floor, a thoughtful gentleman from Shanghai, perfectly accommodated all my check-in requests. Upon arrival, I received a complimentary fresh fruit platter. The 101st-floor lobby bar offered a full selection of soft drinks, and the outdoor viewing area provided spectacular views. I even had a local Shanghai 'uncle' (guide) accompany me from the first floor up to the 103rd and 120th floors, offering detailed explanations of the sculpture artworks. The service throughout was impeccable. The high-altitude room was quiet and comfortable; both the facilities and the service were faultless. A perfect 'in the clouds' stay experience!"

"It's been over two years since my last stay, and the hotel's facilities haven't changed much. The weather in Shanghai during late spring/early summer is delightful. Capella Jian Ye Li offers a serene escape amidst the bustling city. The fragrance of flowers and the warm breeze melt away anxieties, making you involuntarily slow down. It's an even better experience than visiting in winter. Location: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Nestled in the heart of the former French Concession, the city's cultural core, close to Wukang Road and Hengshan Road. Overall Environment: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 A rare, large-scale complex of old Shanghai Shikumen architecture, brimming with historical charm and a sense of peaceful leisure. Room Space: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 The standard room type is a three-story suite with two bathrooms. Interior Decor: 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Elegant Chinese aesthetics blended with Western elements, creating a classic 'Hapao' (Shanghai style) ambiance. Mattress & Bedding: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 The mattress provides excellent support, ensuring high-quality sleep and alleviating my chronic back pain. Bathroom: 🌟🌟🌟🌟 The large-bottle toiletries are of good quality, and the water flow and pressure are adequate. The main bathroom has a single vanity, and the overall bathroom space feels a bit compact. Breakfast: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Likely one of the best breakfasts in Shanghai hotels. The French restaurant offers an elegant setting, a la carte dining, and a wide variety of dishes. The ingredients and seasoning are superb, especially the Western-style egg dishes, which are of exceptionally high quality. Highly recommend the Eggs Florentine. In-room Beverages: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 There's a welcome fruit platter, and the mini-fridge is well-stocked with various complimentary soft drinks. The bar cabinet offers several alcoholic beverages at an acceptable mark-up. Service: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Other: The historic architectural features are distinctive, but frequently going up and down stairs can be a bit inconvenient – I just tell myself you can't have your cake and eat it too. The hotel also offers many art therapy activities that I didn't get a chance to try, leaving me a reason to return."

"We chose the Bvlgari Hotel for one of the most important anniversaries in our lives, and it truly became a brilliant page in our memories. Our heartfelt thanks go to Rainie for her meticulous arrangements, from the surprise room upgrade and the delightful chocolate cake, to the beautiful fresh flowers Rainie specially prepared for us, and the anniversary room decoration. Every thoughtful gesture made us feel truly cherished. The Bvlgari Hotel also thoughtfully prepared personalized luggage tags engraved with our names. Rainie even reminded us that 24-hour breakfast could be delivered to our room – wow, that's fantastic! This time, we tried both the Shanghai and New York style breakfasts, and both were delicious and exquisitely presented 👍. When we checked out, Rainie even thoughtfully gave us a gift... This consistently warm service moved us deeply. We look forward to returning and seeing the amazing Rainie again... 👍👍👍"

"I really love the resort vibe here. It's in a secluded spot away from the city, and the facilities and services are pretty much impeccable. The staff are incredibly responsive and helpful. The stir-fried pork at the Spicy Bamboo restaurant is delicious, and cycling in the nearby park is a great way to unwind. The only minor drawback is the poor phone signal in the room, but I can also see it as an excuse to disconnect during a vacation. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit!"

"I brought my child for a stay, and my little one was quite happy with the hotel. A female staff member on the W floor, who was guiding us, also had a great attitude – very warm and proactive in asking if we needed any help. In the evening, I planned to go to the bar for a drink and enjoy the night view after my child fell asleep. Around 9 PM, feeling a bit cold, I wore the hotel room's bathrobe and room slippers to the bar on the fourth floor for a quick drink, all without leaving the hotel. Upon entering, they first verified my guest status, and a male server led me in. As we were walking, the staff member told me to go back and change my shoes and that bathrobes weren't allowed. I paid a high room rate, used the standard hotel amenities, and was consuming within the hotel, so why should I be dictated on what to wear? There were no dress code notifications at all. They didn't inform me upon entry but waited until I was inside to tell me to leave. If there really is such a rule, the hotel has an obligation to clearly communicate it, perhaps by placing a sign where the slippers are provided. What's more, the male server even mentioned they had replacement slippers (these were plastic, not disposable), which clearly indicates they know guests might come in disposable slippers. Are they just trying to make things difficult for people?"

"Facilities: You can tell this hotel has some age to it, but it's very well-maintained. It has that old-school luxury feel, and I particularly liked the lobby with its grand crystal chandeliers. The room was incredibly spacious, with a walk-in closet, double sinks, and a bathtub – all the basics met and exceeded expectations. Being on a high floor, the view was fantastic; standing by the window, I felt like I was surveying the world, haha. Hygiene: Overall, the hygiene was very good. The only thing that could be improved is the bathrobes. It would be better if they came in sealed, disposable bags. Firstly, it would prevent dust, and secondly, it would feel much more hygienic; otherwise, I'd be a bit hesitant to wear them. The bathrobe material was also a bit rough. Service: The service is definitely the highlight and deserves the most praise. First, check-in was a comfortable seated experience; no 'standing in line' punishment while waiting, and there were plenty of seats in the waiting area. Also, upon check-in, we were assigned a 24-hour butler who provided free tea and drinks around the clock. That night, after a couple of drinks, I requested a hot milk. After messaging our butler, Rachel, it was delivered to the room very quickly – thumbs up! The next day at ADD for breakfast, the server noticed I had both porridge and noodles and, without me even realizing, brought me a ceramic spoon. That was incredibly thoughtful! I believe luxurious service should subtly permeate every little detail like this. This kind of experience also extended to calling housekeeping and them clearly knowing my surname – many five-star hotels struggle with this now. It truly feels like the SOP standards from an era of economic prosperity. Later that evening, on a whim, we went to the bar. The cocktails were well-made, and the Chinese resident singer was very entertaining, performing Chinese folk songs in a foreign-branded hotel. I had expected the usual, unidentifiable 'oohs and aahs' from foreign singers. The bar also had a magician, Edward, who brought the atmosphere to a climax; his close-up magic was amazing and left everyone gasping in awe. The bar manager, Max, was also very enthusiastic with his service. I'll definitely bring friends here again next time!"

"This was my first stay at a Mandarin Oriental, and it was a completely different experience from the Ritz-Carlton, Niccolo, or Waldorf Astoria. The day before check-in, the hotel called to ask about my room preferences, which was a nice touch. As soon as I entered the lobby, I was greeted by MO's iconic fan, a mosaic made of countless individual fans. This fan truly sets the tone for Mandarin Oriental, and fan motifs are subtly integrated throughout the hotel. The overall aesthetic is a perfect blend of 'old money' elegance and New Chinese style. From the decor and design to the overall aesthetic, it hit all the right notes for me, and I give the brand's taste a very high score! 😄 During check-in, the front desk thoughtfully upgraded me to a lake-view room. While waiting for the elevator, they enthusiastically shared the brand's history with me. When asked which hotels I usually stay at, they also highlighted what makes Mandarin Oriental unique compared to others, which made me feel highly valued. 🥰 Unfortunately, the weather in Shanghai that day wasn't great – it was foggy and drizzling, so the daytime view wasn't exactly to my taste. However, the night view was absolutely stunning! I was particularly pleased that, due to local regulations, smoking is prohibited indoors in Shanghai. When I went downstairs to smoke, a dedicated attendant guided me and even lit my cigarette. This is something I've rarely encountered in most hotels. The brand's training for its concierge staff is definitely something other cities and hotels should aspire to. 👍 Now for a small suggestion after all the praise: the sound quality of the room's speakers wasn't particularly great. Most luxury hotels typically use high-end audio brands like JBL or Sennheiser, and compared to those, the speakers at MO Shanghai weren't quite up to par. However, whatever, this is a minor issue, almost not even a problem at all. Overall, my stay at MO was exceptional. From the hotel service and the concierge's enthusiasm to the brand history and hotel design, it was almost perfect in every aspect. I hope the hotel continues its excellent work and I look forward to staying here again on my next trip to Shanghai. I also hope that my future stays at other Mandarin Oriental properties will live up to the high standards set by MO Shanghai."
