Ibis Hotels in Shanghai

Coming to Pudong New Area to visit cultural venues like the Shanghai Museum East and Shanghai Library East, choosing to stay at this Ibis hotel was truly great value for money. It's conveniently located near Fangdian Road Station on Metro Line 9, making transportation easy. The hotel facilities are generally standard, and the service is quite warm. When checking out, the front desk even gave me a small snack pack. Downsides: I stayed on the 2nd floor this time, and perhaps because it's a lower floor, the room felt quite damp and needed some ventilation to feel comfortable. Breakfast is on the 1st floor, with the restaurant connected to the lobby. The variety of food is very limited, which could definitely be improved.

I checked in late at night, and the front desk staff were very welcoming and processed my check-in quickly. The room had some noise due to flights taking off and landing, but earplugs were provided. Overall, the room environment was good, and other facilities were convenient to use. Breakfast was a buffet with a good variety of Chinese and Western options.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Everything was very clean, and it was clear that the hotel is quite new. The room had one large, comfortable bed, a private bathroom, as well as a kettle and a TV. Towels, toothbrushes, and all the essential amenities were provided everything you need for a comfortable stay. I also really liked the area. There are many interesting places nearby, and the metro station is within walking distance, which makes getting around very convenient. There are also plenty of places to eat in the area, which is a big advantage. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay.

The room was fantastic! It blows all other hotels in the same price range out of the water. The ladies at the front desk were so welcoming and even called us in advance to confirm our late check-in, reminding us to be safe – super heartwarming. Pros: 1. The curtains are excellent at blocking out light, and it's very quiet at night. 2. The shower floor was clean, and the smart toilet was also spotless. 3. Clothes can be hung in the open wardrobe. On the other hand, you need to pick up toiletries and toothbrushes from the front desk yourself, or have the robot deliver them. The room doesn't have a main ceiling light, so if you need to do your makeup, it's best to bring your own mirror or use the bathroom. It's about a 1km walk to the subway station, so if you're traveling with luggage, be aware of that. I didn't take any room photos, and I'm not a shill.

The service was great, very attentive and thoughtful. The location is absolutely fantastic, with the subway exit just 20 meters away. The hotel environment is comfortable, and the mini-bar design is excellent, though it's a shame they don't sell alcohol – you have to bring your own to enjoy at the table. There's a laundry room with four washer-dryer combos and detergent provided. They also have free parking; it's a bit small, but sufficient. Breakfast was decent. Overall, I'm quite satisfied, especially considering the price.

The room was clean and tidy, and the bedding was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a very peaceful night's sleep. The staff were warm, attentive, and quick to respond to our needs. It offers great value for money, and I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next trip.

However, the service is where the experience falls short. For an international hotel chain, it is surprising that the staff does not speak even basic English. Communication becomes unnecessarily difficult, especially for international travelers who rely on minimal assistance for check-in, directions, or simple requests. Additionally, the staff often appeared distracted, frequently using their phones instead of being attentive to guests. This creates an impression of complete indifference and lack of professionalism. Such issues might be understandable in a small, family-run hotel in a remote area, but in a major international city like Shanghai, and under a global brand, a higher standard of service should be expected.
