A Week in Barcelona — Staying at Hotel Serhs Del Port (Early February) Spending a week in Barcelona in early February felt relaxed and unhurried, and staying at Hotel Serhs Del Port played a big part in that. Overall, it was a comfortable base with a few details that really stood out—both good and not so good. I was very lucky with my room placement. My room faced the patio, which meant it stayed wonderfully quiet. The window didn’t look out onto the main street or neighboring buildings, and that made a big difference—especially at night. After long days out in the city, coming back to that calm felt like a small luxury. The breakfast was another highlight. The selection was good and varied, with both cold and warm dishes, pastries, and a fresh orange juice extractor that felt especially fitting for Spain. It was easy to start the day well-fed without needing to think too much about it. I also really appreciated the coworking space. It was pleasant and functional, and I found myself using it often. Having a comfortable place to sit and work without retreating to the room made the stay feel more balanced and productive. The staff, both at the front desk and in the restaurant, were consistently friendly and helpful. Interactions felt natural and unforced, which always makes a hotel feel more welcoming. Location-wise, the hotel was very convenient. La Rambla was only about a 4–5 minute walk away, close enough to be easily accessible but far enough to avoid the constant noise. The surrounding area was lively in a good way, filled with restaurants, bars, and supermarkets, making daily life simple and flexible. That said, there was one downside that was hard to ignore: the walls were thin. I could clearly hear the snoring/ coughing of the gentleman in the neighboring room, which definitely broke the illusion of privacy on some nights. All in all, Hotel Serhs Del Port offered a comfortable, well-located stay with thoughtful touches and friendly service. A quieter room placement made a big difference—but thinner walls are something to keep in mind if you’re a light sleeper.

I felt discriminated against by the front desk staff. The air conditioner in my room was broken, so I asked for assistance. Their response was a dismissive, 'Just open the window.' This was unacceptable, especially since it was a sweltering 34°C that day. I suspect I was treated so poorly because I am an Asian woman traveling alone. I was really looking forward to my stay here, so this left me incredibly sad and angry. While the air conditioner was eventually fixed, the front desk staff's attitude was truly disappointing.

Location is super. 5 min walk from Airbus station so it's easy to get there from airport (I suggest to buy a return ticket, will save a couple of euros). The room is exactly as is shown. Service is great and staff is friendly. Just a suggestion: have a hook attached/sticked onto a glass by the sink so towel can be hung; have a toilet brush in the toilet. A shower door is glass, so be mindful of glass, in case it's shattered. That was the case with my room, it's not something dangerous, and I am sure it's sorted by now. Just be sure to check

Nice, clean hotel with a decent-sized room and comfortable beds. I especially loved the shower! There are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby, which was really convenient. A couple of things would have made the stay even better — having a kettle in the room and a proper bin. There was an illy espresso capsule machine, but it didn’t work properly. Also, there wasn’t a bin in the room itself, just a very small one in the bathroom.

The biggest advantages of this hotel are its location and the 24-hour buffet. Situated in the heart of the city, most attractions are within walking distance, even if some are 2-3 km away. Public transport (bus) makes everything quickly and affordably accessible, so there's no need for a rental car, especially since parking garage fees are quite steep. The buffet offers a daily changing selection of dishes, and you can easily supplement and combine it with purchases from outside. Wine, beer, soft drinks, ice cubes, ice cream, and coffee are all available 24 hours free of charge. You essentially get full board. The bathroom and toilet are spacious, clean, and modernly equipped. My only minor complaint is the carpet throughout the hotel; I personally prefer hardwood floors. The hotel staff were consistently friendly and helpful. We even received a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine in a cooler with ice in our room. With the sparkling wine, the buffet, and some groceries from Plaça de Catalunya, we put together a dinner fit for a king. If you can do without a pool, this hotel is an excellent choice.

Such a bargain! The hotel was amazing and great value for money. The receptionists were lovely and really made our stay worthwhile. Amazing location! And they even had a swimming pool available for us to use!!!! Would definitely go bac

This is our 1st time having such a bad experience stay. We were asked via WhatsApp to provide our personal passport info and to pay hotel tax via a payment link in the WhatsApp, it was received well in advance before our check-in. We found this way is very unusual, and due to uncertainty whether the message was from the property , we declined to pay the tax upfront. Then the so-called property staff claimed we disrespect them. I found absurd as we have fully paid our accommodation and told them will fully pay the tax upon check-in, of which it was a small amount as compared to the total 3 nights stay rate. After checked in, we found only one toilet roll is given without any tissue. So we requested for an extra, and becoz the weather was warm, we asked for a thin bedsheet instead of a given duvet. The property staff said need to charge us £50 simply for a thin pc of bedsheet!! We found this is ridiculous and giving us an extra toilet roll, they were unhappy. What is the cost of a toilet roll as compared to the high rate stay of this property as compared to nearby accommodation? They gave us an under expectation unit, with no view (see photo) , which is so much difference from the advertised photo. They objected to change room for us even though we told them the safe deposit box is spoilt on the day after checking in. Goodness was that they wanted us to clear the trash bins to bring it to ground floor on our last day ! I havn’t encountered this at all even in dome AirBnB units. We asked for Trash bags as their bin has not bag, the property staff said they provide no trash bags! So how are we supposed to help them to clear the trash if no bags provided? U expect us to buy trash bag and help them to clean? Totally ridiculous! HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED as the unit is small , odd room layout

I arrived in Barcelona a day earlier than my booking, and the hotel responded to my email incredibly quickly. They managed to accommodate all my requests so smoothly, which I truly appreciated. The receptionist was exceptionally friendly and helpful, making my stay in Barcelona feel warm and genuinely welcoming from the very beginning. The location of the hotel is fantastic — everything is within walking distance, which made exploring the city so convenient. The room itself felt very secure and comforting, with a modern design. It was clean, cozy, and beautifully maintained. I had a wonderful and restful stay for four nights. Another big plus was the complimentary 24-hour coffee and drinking water, which made the stay even more convenient and thoughtful. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Barcelona!

The room itself was really good: clean, comfortable and spacious. However, my first impression of the stay and the stuff of the hotel was suboptimal, which coloured the whole experience.  I arrived at the hotel at about 1 p.m. First thing that surprised me was the fact that there were actually 2 hotels and only one of them had a check-in desk, to find which I had to ask around. When I finally arrived at the reception, I was second in line as there were some people checking out. While I was waiting a family (parents and a child) came in, and then one more group of travellers arrived. When the receptionist was done with the people who were before me, I asked to be checked in. In response, I got told that she was going to check the family in first. She wasn’t apologetic or nice about, she told me this as if that was what always happened and not that people got served in the order of their arrival. I am sure the family really appreciated what she’d done and I wouldn’t have minded either if that action was followed with acknowledgement of this not being okay and an offer of some services to recover their reputation. Not only had I not got an apology or anything like that but also I was again bypassed for registration as the receptionist decided to invite 5 people who came in later on to check them out. At that point me and other people in the line were quite baffled by the behaviour and understood that there was nothing fair about this interaction. After I was  finally checked in and went back to the other side of the street for my hotel, the room pleasantly surprised me. It was clean and had all the necessary amenities. However, I was a bit confused at first by the thing you need to do to get electricity. I was told by a friend that the system of inserting the key card into a specific slot in order to get electricity is now the norm, but this month I’ve been to 5 different hotels and all of them had different systems and none of them were this particular one, so I personally would’ve appreciated a heads up or an informative poster on the door. The only downside of the room that I found was that that side of the street was quite loud. It was much better with the windows closed, however, if you are a light sleeper, I recommend taking ear plugs.  The rest of the stay went pretty okay for me, but that first experience unfortunately is something I’ll never forget.  If you are travelling as a family, I would imagine this hotel would prioritise you over other guests any time, so maybe that’s just who they cater to. As a solo traveler, however, this was not what I was expecting.

Pretty good! I'd recommend staying here. It's quite close to the city center, and I could walk to the attractions easily. The subway is also very convenient. The accommodation environment looks nice too. I'll definitely come again next time.
