Due to our late flight, we arrived at the hotel around 1 a.m. The receptionist on duty was a very kind and friendly young lady who welcomed us warmly. Unfortunately, our request for hotel slippers could not be accommodated. Since it was very late and we were exhausted, we went straight to bed. The next morning, however, we noticed that the room was not particularly clean, especially the bathroom, where there were some hairs on the floor and around the sink. After speaking with the morning reception staff, housekeeping cleaned the room and the issue was resolved. The hotel’s location is very good, with easy access to the city center even on foot. Public transportation connections are also excellent, with both bus and metro stations conveniently nearby. The breakfast was fairly basic and nothing special. The hotel photos advertise a rooftop swimming pool, and there are indeed pictures of it, but in reality it is more like a small plunge pool than an actual swimming pool, as it is quite small. Overall, our stay was decent and in line with what you would reasonably expect from a 3-star hotel, but not more than that. We later realized that for a similar price, it is possible to find 4-star hotels in Barcelona with slightly better facilities and amenities.

First off, it's located in an alley. While the alley is cleaned every morning, it still tends to be a bit messy and dirty. One day, right after leaving the hotel, I even heard foreigners getting robbed right outside. The hotel's hygiene is pretty subpar. The room reminded me of a 200-300 RMB hotel in China, so paying over 2000 for a night felt completely not worth it. Plus, the soundproofing is terrible; you can hear conversations from the next room. The room window opens directly onto a residential building, so when you open it, you see people's laundry hanging, and you can practically see into their homes. If someone in the building is cooking, the cooking fumes waft straight into your room, making the whole place stuffy. The room had a noticeable amount of dust and a musty smell. I booked it in advance without knowing the situation and stayed for a few days, but every day I just wanted to check out and move somewhere else. Its only advantage might be its convenient location and good transport links in Barcelona, but that also implies it's not a very safe area. All in all, for this price, you could easily book a much better 4-star hotel or higher!

The hotel lobby smells lovely, and the room was clean and tidy with a very pleasant green accent wall. The bed frame was hollow, which made it a bit creaky. The soundproofing isn't great, but it didn't bother me much since I was up early exploring anyway. If Barcelona is your first stop, I'd give this place an 8/10. The location is unbeatable, just around the corner from Passeig de Gràcia and a few meters from Zara!

Stayed here for a weekend in February. It is right in the heart of the gothic quarter, with quirky shops all around. I hadn’t realised when booking but there is a punk, Scottish and Cuban feel to the place (which is random) and related to the history of the owner. The room had high ceilings and dark decor (as did the rest of the hotel- not to everyone’s liking) which gave the room a lovely sense of space. The beds were comfy and especially the pillows were good on the neck. We had a balcony but it is very small, but looking around so are all the others in the gothic quarter but it is enough to stand on and get some air. The hotel is small, without much of a lobby entrance, initially a bit of a hostel feel. On level 1 there was an espresso machine with coffee pods, a kettle and the choice of loose teas (black, roibus and fruit) and a water fountain where you can fill up your water bottle - which we found great. We opted not to pay for the 15 euro breakfast as there are little coffee shops all around and a little cheaper. There is a v nice restaurant attached to the hotel but we didn’t go there. There is a metro nearby (100m), and even if you catch different metros underground, if you don’t come out of the station, it still counts as a single journey. It was perfect for our weekend, although knowing how central it is I’m not sure I would go in peak season for the noise - although we slept fine our room faced the Main Street.

A Week in Barcelona — Staying at Hotel Serhs Del Port (Early February) Spending a week in Barcelona in early February felt relaxed and unhurried, and staying at Hotel Serhs Del Port played a big part in that. Overall, it was a comfortable base with a few details that really stood out—both good and not so good. I was very lucky with my room placement. My room faced the patio, which meant it stayed wonderfully quiet. The window didn’t look out onto the main street or neighboring buildings, and that made a big difference—especially at night. After long days out in the city, coming back to that calm felt like a small luxury. The breakfast was another highlight. The selection was good and varied, with both cold and warm dishes, pastries, and a fresh orange juice extractor that felt especially fitting for Spain. It was easy to start the day well-fed without needing to think too much about it. I also really appreciated the coworking space. It was pleasant and functional, and I found myself using it often. Having a comfortable place to sit and work without retreating to the room made the stay feel more balanced and productive. The staff, both at the front desk and in the restaurant, were consistently friendly and helpful. Interactions felt natural and unforced, which always makes a hotel feel more welcoming. Location-wise, the hotel was very convenient. La Rambla was only about a 4–5 minute walk away, close enough to be easily accessible but far enough to avoid the constant noise. The surrounding area was lively in a good way, filled with restaurants, bars, and supermarkets, making daily life simple and flexible. That said, there was one downside that was hard to ignore: the walls were thin. I could clearly hear the snoring/ coughing of the gentleman in the neighboring room, which definitely broke the illusion of privacy on some nights. All in all, Hotel Serhs Del Port offered a comfortable, well-located stay with thoughtful touches and friendly service. A quieter room placement made a big difference—but thinner walls are something to keep in mind if you’re a light sleeper.

We stayed for 5 nights and had a great time. We enjoyed the stay as the location is within walking distance for food, shops and near the Metro station. The buffet serves 24 hours is awesome as in the middle of the night, we could just walk-in and enjoy the drinks and snacks and chit-chat. The counter staff is very friendly and helpful. Overall we have a great time during the stay!

I recently stayed in a bed space at TOC Hostel in Barcelona, and unfortunately, my experience was not very comfortable. The pillow provided was quite uncomfortable, which made it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. Additionally, the electric socket near my bed was not working, which was inconvenient for charging devices. Another issue was the noise level. Both during the night and throughout the day, the environment was quite loud, making it hard to rest properly. It doesn’t feel like a suitable place for anyone who is sensitive to noise or values a quiet atmosphere. Overall, I would not recommend this hostel, especially for those who have trouble sleeping in noisy environments.

My stay at Acta Voraport was great. They upgraded us to a better room (I think with a city view) which was much appreciated. The staff were friendly and the room was very clean. The toilet came with your usual amenities and they also have 24/7 staff you can call for assistance. For the price I think this hotel was good value. I especially liked the roof terrace with sweeping views over Barcelona and pool although I didnt get to swim. No comments on the food since I didn't opt for the breakfast.
