"Must-Stay: Mandarin Oriental Barcelona 🏦 – The Real-Life Spanish 'Money Heist' Bank! 🏨 Located on Barcelona's famous Passeig de Gràcia, this hotel is right next to Gaudí's stunning Casa Batlló with its magnificent facade. Housed in an elegant mid-20th-century building, it was re-imagined by Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola, boasting a thoroughly modern interior that still retains the distinctive Mandarin Oriental charm. .🏦 Formerly a bank, it incorporates many elements from its past. For instance, a wall in the Banker's Bar was once part of the bank, serving as a safe deposit box area. Even more unique, their menus are presented in metal boxes like banknotes, giving it a real 'Money Heist' vibe, Barcelona style! It also doubles as a lounge for early arrivals, where you can even enjoy breakfast if it's already open. Because it was once a bank, all rooms offer a sense of security, privacy, and tranquility. Even facing the street, it becomes incredibly quiet after dark. The restaurant, lounge, and bar are all contemporary spaces, reflecting the city's artistic spirit and attitude. An absolutely superb check-in experience and service quality."

"What first surprised me about this hotel was how incredibly friendly it is towards Chinese tourists. There was even a Chinese New Year greeting card and fruit on the room table. The front desk staff wished us a Happy New Year too! The moment we walked in, a wave of happiness just washed over us. The hotel lobby is incredibly stylish, well-designed, and has a grand, trendy feel to it. I really loved the many thoughtful design details inside the room. The embroidery on the slippers was very intricate, as were the bathrobes, which featured many embroidered butterflies. The hotel also has a dedicated area in the room for makeup and hair drying, which I absolutely adored – and the mirror is an irregularly shaped design, very beautiful. Even the mineral water bottles were beautifully designed. This hotel just emanates happiness everywhere you look. The hotel environment fully meets five-star standards, but there are a few small details that could be improved. For example, the showerhead sprays water in a chaotic way and hasn't been fixed, and the water pressure is quite low, making showering a bit uncomfortable. Also, the hotel doesn't seem to have solutions for certain guest requests. For instance, I wanted to heat up some food I brought back from outside, and the hotel couldn't accommodate. I believe that for a five-star standard, they should consider and properly address customer needs."

"The hotel staff were incredibly welcoming and the facilities were excellent! It was spotlessly clean, and the room felt really upscale. The hotel breakfast was also very substantial. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in town!"

"Extremely satisfied!!! After staying in hotels in Germany and Austria, it wasn't until I arrived at Hyatt that I felt like I was back in a proper hotel. A taxi from T1 is about 21 euros, which is convenient for early morning or late-night flights. The hotel is very quiet, and the facilities are new. The hot shower was incredibly comfortable. The front desk staff were polite and patient, making for a fantastic experience."

"The hotel's cleanliness, ambiance, and facilities are all excellent, and the rooms are comfortable. However, what was extremely disappointing was the hotel's handling of late checkout. Although we were only about an hour and a half past the normal checkout time and were prepared to pay a fee, we were charged 95 Euros for an extension until only 2 PM. This price seems highly unreasonable, both in terms of the standard charge and the actual service received. What's even more regrettable is the hotel's lack of flexibility, especially given its high room rates and brand positioning. A 95 Euro charge for such a short extension felt more like an attempt to generate additional revenue. While the hotel's physical amenities are commendable, this experience severely impacted our overall stay and made us reconsider whether we would choose this hotel again in the future."

"The hotel's location is super convenient! It's a 5-minute walk to Casa Batlló and close to Passeig de Gràcia. You can even walk to Sagrada Família in about 20 minutes. Downstairs there's a really affordable express supermarket, and lots of great restaurants nearby! The Lato breakfast was delicious, and there were plenty of tapas options too. The service was excellent. The pool is small but cute. We were lucky enough to be there when Spain won the World Cup, and the hotel felt very safe."

"The extra bed didn't come with a duvet, only a blanket. This is why the service score is lower; even after asking twice, it wasn't delivered. In the end, I just slept with the blanket for a night, thankfully it wasn't too cold. The sink in the room was a bit clogged, but I didn't bother reporting it. So, I'll give the facilities and cleanliness 4 stars. The two-meal package I bought had surprisingly excellent food! I especially loved the cheese pasta and cheesy eggplant for dinner, and the cheesecake was the best I've ever had! Highly recommend it. Breakfast on the second day had ham and cheese, which I thoroughly enjoyed! Personally, I was very satisfied, but my elderly family members weren't used to it, as there was no Chinese food at all for breakfast. Finally, I had a 16-euro cocktail at the rooftop bar, and when I checked out, the total including taxes was 55 euros. I don't quite understand why, maybe there was a service charge."

"The hotel service was excellent. As soon as I walked in, staff members helped me with my luggage and offered me water. Check-in was very quick. The room was bright and spacious, very clean inside, and the decor had a great feel to it. The en-suite bathroom had a separate wet and dry area. They even gave me two instant noodle cups as a welcome gift. The minibar had capsule coffee and more."

The rooms are comfortable, clean, and very well-maintained, allowing for a good rest after a full day exploring Barcelona. But what really made the difference were the people. The staff were always willing to help, answer questions, and offer assistance with a smile. On several occasions, we received attention that went far beyond what was expected, demonstrating a true commitment to their guests' experience. Once again, we confirmed something that always impresses us about Spain: the extraordinary culture of service and hospitality they have towards tourism. They make you feel welcome, comfortable, and valued. This natural way of looking after people turns a trip into a memorable experience. NH is a brand we hold dear to our hearts.
