3-Star Hotels in Samarkand

Nifal is a great new hotel. I spent 3 nights there. What you see in the pictures, is what you get, even better once you see it in person. Amazingly clean, tastefully decorated, high ceiling, two bottles of water, toothbrush, sleepers, and best of all, you’re asked to take your shoes off and place it on a shoe rack by the room. How cool is that? (speaking of cleanliness) Farrux at the front desk speaks English well, very kind and helpful young man. Breakfast is plenty full and individually served at a desire time. Kitchen staff greets you with a smile every morning. Hotel is about 10-15 minutes walk from the popular tourist attraction. Couple of restaurants close by with their specialty kebab (chicken, lamb and beef), they also serve beer and wine.

This stay was absolutely fantastic! I made a mistake with my booking, but the hotel staff were incredibly patient and helped me sort everything out. They were all super friendly, helped with our luggage, and provided exceptional service. The entire hotel was spotless and very comfortable. We woke up a bit late and worried we'd miss breakfast, but it turned out the hotel offered à la carte Western breakfast and freshly ground coffee, which tasted great, and the service was really thoughtful. The location is also super convenient, very close to the train station, making getting around a breeze. I chose this place specifically because I didn't want to stay near the necropolis area; it's about 5km from the attractions, and getting a taxi was very easy. Throughout my stay, I really felt the warmth and hospitality of the people of Uzbekistan. My accommodation experience was perfect, I highly recommend it, and I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time!

I booked a double room. Initially, the aircon in the room was ok. However, late at night, it wasn't cold anymore. The day temperature this time if the year is 39C. Told the hotel the problem. They couldn't fix the aircon and offered to change room for me. First, was a smaller room with twin beds. They say will join the beds for me. I didn't want and insisted on a double bed. But they told me I have to pay another UZS20,000. Though its cheap but I refused because of the principle. I already paid for a double room which is bigger than what they offered. I then decided to take the twin room and not pay extra. Writing this review to let others know.

The hotel has an interesting interior and is conveniently located, with all attractions nearby. It's very clean and comfortable. The reception staff are always helpful with any questions and provide great advice, a big thank you to them. I especially want to thank the chefs who prepare the breakfasts; they are delicious, with fresh pastries and a variety of dishes, and they added something new every day. In the evenings, you can have tea in the dining room. My wife and I loved everything and will recommend the hotel to our friends and acquaintances. We particularly remember the breakfasts on the 'tapchan' (raised platform).

The hotel's location is fantastic, right next to the train station, just a two to three-minute walk away. The room was spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom, however, was a bit cramped. If you're catching a train the next day and want to make things easy, this is a good option. Breakfast was pretty standard. Now, about the front desk. The woman in the headscarf at the front desk was absolutely terrible. When I checked in, I told her I booked through Ctrip and handed her my passport. She fiddled around for five minutes, looking everywhere but at the right place, then asked if I'd booked through ***********. Eventually, she gave me a room card for 104, but when I went up, the room hadn't even been cleaned. She then said, 'This is how it is,' and gave me another card for 106, which also hadn't been cleaned. It was already 1 PM, so even if the rooms weren't ready, why put me through all that back and forth? Couldn't she have just told me to store my luggage and go grab lunch first? Both room numbers she gave me were uncleaned. I suggested she could perhaps get one cleaned quickly, but she very firmly said, 'No, it must be 2 PM.' Okay, 2 PM is fine, but why didn't she say so earlier? What was the point of making me drag my luggage back and forth? When I returned at 4 PM, I was given yet another room, 206, and was told they had made a mistake with the rooms! Separately, the city tax at this hotel is also very strange. The two previous hotels I stayed at in Samarkand charged 41,200, but this one insisted on charging 62,000. Is the city tax different within the same city? I'd like Ctrip to investigate this and clarify the correct amount. Can't they just be transparent with their pricing?

Great hotel with a delicious and filling breakfast. The front desk staff are always fantastic at answering any questions, from where to go and how to get there, to where to have dinner – they know everything! We really enjoyed our stay, thank you! ☀️

For me, Hotel Al-Bukhory was a absolute highlight of my trip to Samarkand. First of all, the room was extremely spacious with no sense of confinement, and the in-room amenities were very new and clean. The hotel's location is within walking distance of major attractions like Registan Square, with convenience stores and supermarkets nearby. The breakfast offered a rich variety of dishes. The overall design of the hotel is also very comfortable, featuring a courtyard-style layout which is quite convenient for smokers, and a great spot to relax on the courtyard sofa with a cup of tea after a long day of sightseeing. The hotel staff were exceptionally friendly, warm, and hospitable. Without exaggeration, this is the first time I have encountered such wonderful staff across all the hotels I've stayed at in so many countries, to the point of being quite touching. In the evenings, I often drank tea and chatted with the staff, learning about the locals' way of life, which added so much excitement to my trip. I strongly, strongly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip to Samarkand!

I stayed here alone as a female traveler. Being on the first floor made it easy to go in and out. The room had an electric kettle and a hairdryer, but no toothbrush or tissues. Body wash and shampoo were provided, but the scent was quite strong, so if you're sensitive to smells, you might want to bring your own. The shower was a fixed type, which was a bit disappointing. There was a partition between the shower and the toilet, so the toilet stayed dry. There was a refrigerator, but I couldn't figure out how to turn it on, so I couldn't use it. Overall, though, it's a clean and good hotel. During my stay, I didn't encounter any staff who spoke Japanese, which was a shame. By the way, there's another hotel with a very similar name. When I took a Yandex from the airport, I was initially dropped off at the wrong hotel with a similar name. Luckily, there was another Japanese person there, and we managed to get to the correct hotel together via Yandex. So, everyone, please be careful!

I didn't take pic of the room as it is basic but spacious enough. The hotel is strategically located in between various sightseeing sites. For travellers who opt for tram and bus, you choose the right location because opposite the hotel just accross the road, there is a tramvay stop and bus stop. Tramvay goes to and for the main train station if you are departing for Tashkent or Bukhara. While bus goes around the city. Take bus 22 to go around the city area such as Registan centre. Take bus 31 to and for airport. Really convenient, affordable, and I highly recommend it.
