4-Star Hotels in Fenghuang County

The hotel's location is excellent, and parking is convenient. It's only a three-minute walk to the White Pagoda. The front desk service was great; the staff even offered suggestions for sightseeing routes. The breakfast had a wide variety of delicious options. The room was spacious, and the bathroom was luxurious and roomy. I was amused that the room lights had adjustable brightness – first time I've seen that!

Location is a strong suite of this guesthouse, in a square right by the central Rainbow Bridge. The Rainbow Bridge is pretty much your link into Fenghuang Ancient Town. The guesthouse is about a 10-min walk (with dragging luggage on tarred road) from Qifeng Square. Qifeng Square is where you can take the Fenghuang Tourist Shuttle Bus to/from Fenghuang Ancient Town (train) Station on Line 1 (20 mins bus ride for CNY 7). Price-wise, this is overpriced compared to Wulingyuan, Zhangjiajie City and Furong Town. One is able to pay 40% less in those areas for no less facilities. All had hot showers, bathroom slippers, tissue paper, 2 bottles of bottled water. In fact, this guesthouse didn't even have hair conditioner, and the towels can be tattered (picture). If you sleep by 10pm or wake after 7am, bring earplugs as your room might overlook a square of persistent shopkeepers hollering to any passerby to go in and eat. No elevators but the staff will help you carry your luggages up and down when you call upon them.

This river-view room was the best money I spent during my trip to Fenghuang Ancient Town. I'd come back 100 more times just for it! No need to jostle with crowds to see the amazing night view 😭 🏨 The room details really impressed me: ✔️ Super-sized bathtub 🛁 After walking around the ancient town all day, a soak here is pure bliss and instant recovery. ✔️ 24-hour butler service, they even personally came downstairs to pick me up. ✔️ Clean, quiet, and picture-perfect – every corner is a great photo op. 🚗 Drivers, rejoice! The hotel has its own parking lot 🅿️ Plus, it's just a few minutes' walk to the main scenic area. The best part is it's quiet despite being central! You'll get a good night's sleep. Seriously, you'll regret it if you visit Fenghuang and don't stay in a river-view room!

We arrived at night, and choosing this guesthouse was the best decision of our entire trip. The location is excellent, truly living up to its name as a guesthouse with panoramic views. From the courtyard, you can see the entire Tuojiang River through the ancient town. The balcony offers an incredible view, giving you a 'king of the hill' feeling that's truly exhilarating. Sitting there at night and watching the ancient town's nightscape is just so relaxing. The room was spotlessly clean, the bedding was fresh, and the quality of the linens was very good. The owner was also very kind and shared some great travel tips.

The staff were so enthusiastic and even offered to upgrade my room, and the night view was absolutely amazing! The recommended Tuojiang Fish King restaurant was also excellent. The facilities are new and very clean, and I was really touched when they personally picked me up from the parking lot and helped with my luggage. The service truly was outstanding!!!

It's about a 2-minute walk to the ancient town. **Service:** The front desk staff were very warm and attentive.

Seven Fen Homestay, while rated 'seven,' truly deserves a 'ten' for service, ambiance, and facilities. The location is excellent too; just cross a small bridge opposite the hotel, stroll along the Tuojiang River for a bit, and you're in the ancient town. We had a driver pick us up from the high-speed rail station, and upon arrival, a butler helped with our luggage and provided recommendations for exploring the ancient town. Fresh fruit was even delivered to our room. It truly felt like a home away from home. I rarely write reviews on Ctrip, but this time, I genuinely want to give Seven Fen Homestay a five-star rating – it's absolutely worth it!

Excellent location just at the beginning of the old town, not far from the square with the phoenix statue. It is located in an alley not immediately easy to find; the staff is available to help with luggage. The room is large and well furnished. The only flaw is that the room was really very humid and therefore it is necessary to always keep the dehumidifier on.

Tucked away in a quiet spot, yet super close to the ancient city. The owner was incredibly welcoming, even upgraded our room and included breakfast! The noodles the breakfast lady made were really good too. They had the AC on for us before we arrived, which was a lifesaver for us northerners who get cold easily, and it worked perfectly. The facilities were complete, and the bedding was super comfy. The service was absolutely impeccable!

The mountains are still as serene as ever, truly embodying the misty Fenghuang. This is my third stay here, but honestly, I'm a bit disappointed. The balconies of the other, larger treehouses were spotless, but mine was covered in fallen tree fruit. It's very humid on the mountain in March, and Hunan has had a month of rain. I expected the air conditioning to be turned on in advance, but I only found a damp bed. Before, staff would contact me ahead of time, and the AC would already be running when I arrived. Not this time – no prior contact, no dehumidification beforehand. Maybe it's because I came during the off-season, and the room rate was very low. My husband loves treehouses, but this time, as we left, he told me that there are hotels like All Seasons and Wyndham downstream. While he enjoys the mountain environment, he really wants to sleep in a dry bed.
